I signed in on the roll call but just wanted to say "hi" separately!

I'm Christine, 24 yo mama to 2 boys ages 3 & 1.5, married to my great husband 4 years this summer. We're expecting #3 11/18 and very happy about it.

We live in southwest Alaska (off the road system, actually) and are having a good time and a little adventure.

I just had an ultrasound today and little one's heartbeat was going strong, which is great... I don't have my first real visit til the end of this month.

We are going with a hospital birth this time around. I've had 2 previous hospital births, one with an OB (which was not a good time... inexperience!) and one with a CNM (great birth!) I would've gone back to her this time around but we moved out here, so I get to start from scratch with somebody new. :P

There are no FSBCs out here and I suppose technically I could homebirth since the hospital (it's regional for SW Alaska) is 5 minutes away, but my husband is not comfortable with 'solo'ing since there are no providers we could get to attend the birth.

The hospital out here does not offer epidurals and seem to have quite a natural outlook for things. A CNM actually heads the OB department, LOL and family practice docs do all the deliveries. I think there's one OB on call for emergency c/s... otherwise they ship you out if you get complicated.

Anyway, this got long winded. Just saying hi!

Wow! It sounds like an amazing hospital you have there. A CNM heads the OB dept? How cool is that?! Welcome to our board, good to know you!

I'm expecting baby #3, too! I have a 3 year old and a 14 mo old. We live in the Pacific Northwest. I've had two homebirths and am planning a birth center birth this time.

Glad to have you!
