I'm thinking three colors will work best for this, but I have no idea what those colors should be! I'm going to set the poll to close at the end of the week (9 April) so I can get started on Sunday. :) Thanks!

I like softer shades (for this, not usually in my wardrobe-weird), but white is going to look pretty gross in a month's time! Soft yellow, green and blue would be my preference. Or going for earth tones like a warm brown, blue and green (that wasn't an option on the poll :) ) Or even a labor color like tones of red...

Okay I should have voted no preference!

I don't really have a color preference. It is fine by me if you pick, Rynna.

Blues and Greens are my favorite colors... but I like Reds for the symbology.

I remember someone once posting that they did their bracelets to look like umbilical cords, in shades of purple. That always sounded so cool to me.

Other than that idea, I don't have a lot of preference but do think that white and pastels will get pretty grungy after 2 months of solid wear. I wore friendship bracelets all the time in HS (had one to match just about every outfit and anklets, too) but they all has ties and would regularly get rotated and washed. The only ones I ever wore for a long time was over the summer when I was in a pool everyday.

I was thinking pastels at first but then I thought about how long we are going to wear these things and how gross it could look after 6-8 weeks.:gross So I guess that darker colors would be better although I really don't have a preference.

I also like the shades of purple idea, and I agree that we should stay away from light colors due to the grunge factor...

I like the shades of purple idea especially with the umbilical cord thoughts... But red is quite appealing for the symbol as well...

How about two shades of purple and one of red?

I also like the shades of purple and agree we should stay away from whites/pastels b/c of the grunge factor. And since I'll be going first(ish) I'll need the darker colors to hide the baby spit-up. Uggh, remember that nice smell? I had a watch band I completely trashed after a few newborn months b/c of that delightful odour.

Oooh, I hadn't even thought of that, but I really like it! Three shades of purplish/reddish..for example 3688, 3687, 3803?

Okay, I actually ended up with four strands -- two shades of purple and two shades of red. I noticed when I looked at the colors IRL they didn't look exactly like the colors on the computer screen, but if anyone is feeling adventurous or needs to know, I'm using 814, 816, 3836, and 3837. They look very pretty together.

Going with the umbilical cord color theme, I chose a different style than I'd originally planned on. I was going to do a knotted bracelet, but the umbilical cord colors (I felt) really lent themselves better to a "Chinese Staircase" pattern (I'm not really sure why it's called that, though. :scratch). So it's kind of a spiral around a center cord. Looks very cool, I really like the idea. And they're working up very quickly! :thumb I'll be able to make extras for certain, assuming no one goes before May 1. :thumb In other words, if we don't have everyone (and I still haven't gotten curlygrrl's address!) there's still plenty of time for the stragglers (if they want to join in). Thanks!

I just found this thead, and the bracelets sound so cool! If it's not too late, could you make one for me, too? If so, what would you need from me?

Thanks a million!
