I love to feel my baby kick my inside but sometimes it's too much. hahaha Like last night she was kicking so hard it hurt. I know it's only going to get worse with less and less room so the last 15 or weeks are going to be brutal. Dh is excited though he thinks maybe another soccer player!!

I get that too, but it's not so much a kick as it is her position. She sticks something (head or butt most likely) on the upper left side of my uterus and stays there. It doesn't feel like she is impinging on an organ, but more just a muscle thing. It's an odd, odd feeling. I gently push and prod and massage her until she moves and dh gets mad at me and says I'm hurting her!

I'm mostly a shy lurker on this forum, but I'm due in July too. :) And I hear you on the painful kicking, Jennifer. People think I'm some sort of horrid person because I'm not happy, happy, happy about the baby moving. I *am* happy, but it does hurt sometimes!

I don't get painful kicks, so much as the painful baby positions that JenniferH describes. It does feel like she's got her back pushed firmly up against my abdominal muscles and it doesn't feel good! I didn't get this with ds, with him I just got rib kicks, and Im sure those are to come:LOL .

Funny I should read this post now because he's doing something to my cervix right now that feels like a pap smear from the inside...ick!

I've been getting the painful kicks too -- so much so that she wakes me up at night and I sit bolt upright in bed. I think placental position makes a big difference in how much you feel. With #1, the placenta was attached to the front wall of the uterus, and while I could definitely feel movement, it wasn't of the magnitude that I feel this time. With this pregnancy, the placenta is attached to the back wall. I started feeling movement SO much earlier, and the type of kicking is so much more intense.

I don't remember it being sore on my first baby, but on this one - there are times where it brings tears to my eyes...! Especially those cervix kicks - YOWEY!
