I am just so darn excited to have a December forum. When I was pregnant 3 yrs ago, I belonged to another msg board that had a similar set-up. It was very mainstream though. I'm really excited that I can be a part of a group of mamas and say things like, "we're having a homebirth" or "we're not going to circ" or "we're going to practice elimination communication (which I heartily recommend btw :p ) and not be made to feel like a freak. I love it.

Just wanted to speak up even though I'm still not completely clear on our due date :rolleyes: :blush I still need to make an apointment with a midwife. Had a thoroughly traumatic birth experience having DD1 and am still trying to research alternatives and feel out options for this little one.

i am newly pregnant, too! due december 21.

i have an almost 3 year old dd and 9 month old twins. this pregnancy was a complete surprise, as i hadn't ovulated in months prior to this cycle. not only did i ovulate, i also got pregnant! my husband nearly had a heart attack! :)

So the midwife asked me to have an ultrasound so she could 1) date the pregancy (she came up with either Nov 24 or Dec 12 depending on whether she used LMP or her determined date of conception) and 2) check out an old ovarian cyst (that no longer appears to be there).

So guess what: I was right! the technician doing me ultrasound dated me at 8 weeks 1 day and that would be a due date of Dec 1! :LOL That makes me still first on the list, I almost didn't make it into this thread. You probably would have kicked me out if I was Nov. 30!

But at least this way I got to see the precious heart beat and to see that baby is in the uterus where baby belongs and I can stop worrying that every little pain is indication of an ectopic!!!

I hate to try to pin it down, because first babies in my family are usually late...but let's say Dec. 28. That's my uncle's 50th birthday, and I know he'd be delighted! :) I suspect EnviroBaby won't make an appearance until early January, but I like being in this group where most mamas are a little ahead of me--it will help me plan ahead!

lol...she doesnt use the slide/circular thingy, she adds 7 days then subtracts 3 months. Pretty straight-forward, and it only changes it by a couple days anywho... :D

Okay. I'm a little scared to post, since I'm starting a new job in two months and I have no idea how my employer will react. They can't possibly find me here, right?

I'll have my first check up on May 26th so I'm not totally sure, but it looks like December 28th for a due date.

I'll be 37 by the time the baby arrives, and this will be the first! We're so excited, and feeling very lucky, since we only started TTC in the beginning of January. We were prepared for the long haul, so to have conceived in March is amazing and a little surreal. So far the closest family members (the only people we've told) have been really excited and supportive, despite the terrible timing in terms of my job. My partner is planning on being a WAHD, so as long as we can swing a few months off for me (economically and without getting fired) we should be able to manage.

I don't know anyone else who is expecting, and we'll be relocating to a totally new town (for the job) in two months, so MDC is really going to be a lifeline for me. I've already learned a ton here while lurking the last two weeks! You guys are great.

For now let's just stick with "Eruditia" instead of my real name...feeling a little paranoid!

HI, I have been lurking but after yesterday I feel like I can post. I am due around the end of December. I saw the heartbeat yesterday and feel much better about this pregnancy. I have had 3 previous misscarriages since having my DD in 2000 so was a bit reluctant to post. I have another appt with my OB in 2 weeks to take another look and make sure everything is growing as it should be.... keep me in your thoughts please!

This is a SURPRISE pregnancy :bag: and I've just had my first appointment. Since we don't know for sure the first day of my last mp my midwife had to do some creative calculating. I'll probably get an amended date after the ultrasound.

We homebirthed baby #1 but I'm not sure if I will this time as well. Glad to be here (but still shocked...)
