So, has anyone found any fantastic baby books? I hate all the mainstream ones with baby bottles and pacifiers, and "baby slept through the night for the first time on:" or "Baby started holding their bottle on:" or "Our first weekend getaway without the baby was:" and all that BS! I want something sweet and meaningful that has a lot of fill in the blank stuff so I don't have to work too hard but still leaves room for creativity. We have the "Guess How Much I Love You" baby book for my DD, and it's pretty good, but it was purchased before I realized how far outside the mainstream I really am, and has a couple things that just bug me.

I do happen to love The Inappropriate Baby Book (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0740727230/104-1469982-9611961?%5Fencoding=UTF8&coliid=I15I12GDJ1VU6B&colid=3ME0MXYCWSH57) but it's mostly just a silly book, and I'd like something a bit more meaningful, and don't kill me, but if we have a girl, I think she might be a bit offended that we have the sweet book for our first daughter but the gross book for her, where a boy might be more interested in that. Gender biased, I know, but it's based on how my brothers and husband would feel!

When my son was born my mom gave me a calender baby book that had 13 months in it. It had tons of stickers for different things including grandma time and grandpa time. I was able to record all kinds of things in it since every day had it's own little box. It did have some stickers like slept through the night ect, but you just don't use them. (My son turns 2 next month and still hasn't slept through the night  )

Anyway, I thought the calender book was great because you can record what YOU want, not just fill in the blanks.

Dr Sears. If he wrote it, it is probably close to what you are looking for. He has several.

Hmmm, I wonder if we're thinking about the same sort of book? I have quite a few Dr. Sears books, all the majors, I guess. But, I've never seen a "baby book" per se. You know, the kind you write milestones in and such. "The Baby Book" by Dr. Sears is wonderful as a resource, but as something to pass to my daughter memorializing her first years? Well, I do a lot of the things he recommends, so maybe. LOL. But, there's no good place to put pictures, and a lock of hair and that sort of stuff. :D

I just plan on scrapbooking everything. I had a baby book for DS and there is nothing in it. It was cute (Precious Moments) but everything was contingent on mainstream practices and frequent doctor visits  . I do have a scrapbook for DS, although we have a big chunk of his life we dont' have in pictures so I'm putting in written details. I have my birth story written out in detail, his family tree, some pages just with stuff written, pictures, important things, ect... I've got some work to do to catch up so I can work on the new baby's :twins:

Oh, that kind of baby book. I don't do those so I am no help.
Sorry.

I attempt to scrapbook. But - I do the calendar thing as well so that when I am falling behind I can look back and see what was going on.
