My blood test came in yesterday and my midwife called late last night to let me know that my number have dropped dramatically. I was 44,800 last week, now I am at 5,000! AMAZING. My midwife said that if my numbers had stayed at the 44,000 level she would suggest the D&C, now that they are dropping so much and in such a short time she feels fine about everything. So, no D&C!!!! She said probably my spotting for these weeks has been the miscarriage, also that my body might be absorbing some of the "products of conception" (what a term!!!!) So isn't that amazing. I kept waiting for this EVENT. and nothing really happened, just the spotting and some cramping. My mood has really done an about face in the last few days, and my appetite is back to normal. WOW.

I thank you all for your support, I am still here and will be for awhile, I know that moods can swing......I am just so grateful right now (grateful may sound odd, given the loss, but I just didn't want the D&C).

Blessings and thanks to you all,

Beth

P.S. Hugs to you especially Ms. Mom, you are the best and so supportive.... :love

Dear Beth,
I'm so glad things are beginning to get better for you. I'm really happy for you that you don't need the D&C.

I don't want to rain on your parade... our situations sounded so similar to me, that I thought I should post a little something. i too had spotting for 3 weeks prior to the miscarriage of my Stella (I call it her birth). Then one day, she just fell out of me. We buried her 1-1/2 days later. I thought maybe I wasn't going to have a labor experience that everyone kept telling me about. But, 2-1/2 days later I went into heavy labor to get out the placenta. It was scarier than I expected, mostly, I think, because I thought the whole thing was over when it really wasn't. But, shortly the placenta was out, and I had a fine recuperation.

Of course, your experience may be very different than mine, I just didn't want you to be caught as off guard as I was, should you have labor and birth. If you do, just keep in touch with your mw and remember there will be a lot of blood, but if you aren't filling a pad in an hour, you're doing well. The labor is just like labor-- drink fluids and get support.

Sending you love and prayers,
Sarah
