hi mamas,
whee, it's another week! i sure am a counter, these days: tomorrow we'll be exactly at week 13, and we'll see our midwife for the second time. i think i'm going to refuse the doppler, as the softball seems to be bigger or differently shaped nearly every day, and i'm paying lots of attention and really feel like all is well.
at a barbeque last night with some friends, a bunch of people were eyeing my belly and making comments like hey, you're showing. was sort of fun. it's pretty much public knowledge, now.
and: i took three yoga classes last week and went swimming once! hooray for being able to move again. i usually feel pretty good, but occasionally feel nauseated at the end of the day, if i've overdone it or not eaten enough.
how are you guys?

Hello!
I'm a whopping 15 weeks today! (It seems like every week I forget whether that means I've finished 15 weeks or I'm starting the 15th week. :shrug FYI, I've finished 15 weeks. :eek )
I've been having some strange food aversions lately. More than once I've taken a bite of something I really like, only to run to the garbage can to spit it out. Yesterday we went out to a buffet, and after I was done eating I went to the bathroom. When I walked back out into the dining room, I almost lost it from the smell of all the food. I dragged poor DH out of there double time!! :rotflmao And all of this after a first trimester that consisted of 2 days of m/s.
It is official: I cannot wear any fitted pants or skirts unless I use a safety pin or a rubber band! I need to go shopping for some maternity clothes. The only thing is, I CAN'T STAND waistbands with the panel!! I like the all-around band of elastic, but I refuse to wear the panel. I am the only one who is bothered by that? :)
Let's have a great week!

Greetings All,
I'm 13 weeks (mw monkeyed with my due date due to longer cycles and it's Nov 15th now instead of the 12th - I'm okay with that as it's the same due date I had with ds, so it's kinda neat). Babe's coming when he/she feels like it anyhow, so no matter.
I am slowly eliminating pants and shirts that I can wear, but haven't really started to wear maternity at work yet. I lost 11lbs due to m/s, and that bought me some time, not that I'm happy about the weight loss, but my mw is okay with it, so long as I'm eating now.
YES! I hate the panels also. Hard to make sure you have a shirt that's long enough to cover it. I think I only have one pair of capris with the panel, and the rest are elastic. I got a new pair of capris from old navy with the thick elastic band, and I LOVE them. Not sure if they'll last past month 7, but it'll be too cold for them then anyhow.
Today was hard with m/s, but I do have better days than I was, so I can see the light...

Hey, everyone! I just went to the mw for my second appointment (there are three in the group so I will be meeting one more next month) and I loved her! She was super sweet! I am measuring on track and I gained one pound since last month. She gave me an official due date of November 5th (I had a few dates floating around since I am still nursing my 2 year old, and have fairly irregular cycles), so that makes me 14 weeks and 5 days today!
I'm right there with you guys on the maternity clothes...don't really feel comfortable in them or my regular clothes! And oh, my word...I can't stand those panels!
I also switched to the one a day Rainbow Light prenatals, anyone on them?
Here's to a good baby growing week for everyone :love

I'm at 12 weeks this week, I'm still suffering from MS, haven't gained a single pound in 3 weeks, in fact I've lost more, I'm down 6lbs from my last appointment. I feel just horrible, can't sleep, can't stand to be awake, everything smells bad, im in a bad mood all the time now it seems. The tiredness of early pregnancy seems to have left though! My problem is now that I'm not tired and I'm up all night and most of the day. I get if I'm lucky 2 hours sleep a night. Please let this get better soon, I'm terrible to live with and I'm not liking life very much atm. My next appointment is on the 19th.. wow next week. I'd be so happy if I could walk into the kitchen without puking just for 1 day!

I am at 14 weeks two days or as the baby place told me this am in an e-mail 100 days pregnant.
Kim I am sorry you are still feeling rotten if it any consolation after losing about 15 pounds and being just miserable the last week or so has been better.
On the upside most of my clothes fit me better now than they did when I got pregnant so it should be a while before I need to even worry about maternity clothes although I am starting to get a little bit of a belly.
I really won't buy maternity stuff though, I am thinking that I might order a couple of wrap around skirts from Dharma for the summer and call that good. I spend half of the summer at the pool with the kids though so I am going to need a swimsuit. Yuck.

Well..let's see..I'm 11 weeks 3 days now..(i use the finished method too) and I haven't gained any weight or lost any weight..I am eating but in very small amounts at a time. I finally found a drink today that I can stand...diluted fruit juice with seltzer water in it. We'll see if that lasts longer than a day!! I still have some 'evening" sickness and some nights I just lay there and ride the nausea waves..I have my 2nd midwife appt next week as well..and I'll let her try to find the heartbeat because I need to make this pregnancy more real. Since I'm already overweight I don't feel like I'm any different even though I know I'm pregnant. It's good that i'm not gaining yet, but I feel like..well, what's different? I've got milk still for Elijah..I'm still the same shape...
I don't mind the elastic panels..but it's too soon for them. I think someone should invent nursing/maternity clothing..granted a small market but that's what I'll need!!
Good baby growing all...
I forgot to say...Any of you near Santa Cruz or San Jose/Mtn. View? I'll be traveling back "home" next month to attend my oldest child's high school graduation!! If anyone wants to meet let me know!

Uck... panels. I swear maternity clothes have changed a ton in the last two years. Everything I bought then was a panel. Now you can get the elastic waste thingy and the low rise (which I like right now). Shirts rarely cover the stupid panel.
I'm somewhere between 14 and 15 weeks. Who knows? No more morning sickness, but I'm still tired. Or maybe just lazy! :)
Off topic question for second or more time moms: Reading Meg's comment about nursing shirts made me think... I've never worn one, and only wore a nursing bra for a week. Am I strange? Have I been flashing people for two years now? Or is this just on account of my very small chest? Just curious, cause I know a lot of people wear the nursing stuff.

Hello I am new here. Due 11/26 with number 2...
For those suffering with "morning" sickness (that goes on and on throughout the day, and does not differentiate between morning and daytime and night)
I recommend the homeopathic remedy Ipecacuanha 30c. I had m/s SOOOOO BAD for the first 8 weeks (couldn't get out of bed at all, threw up tons, lost weight, got migraines, got depressed, had bad dreams and insomnia), and started taking that. I was a new woman by the second dose. I don't know how it worked, but it did. Just a thought...

Amanda:
No, you aren't weird..lots of people don't wear or need nursing shirts..it's just as easy to push up a t-shirt or whatever :) I only wear them about half the time and even then I just sometimes push them up and ignore the openings! Mostly I like nursing clothing if I'm going to wear a dress, honestly...which is a fairly rare event. My favorite bra while nursing isn't technically a nursing bra..it's a blue canoe sleeping bra...but otherwise I do wear nursing bras because I have to wear something!

I'm 14 weeks and a couple of days. I have to go back to the OB I was seeing for now cause of finanical strains, and later hoping to go back to where I was going (which was only one time,MW) I'll be seeing him(OB) today, I'll let you know how it goes!
I'm also having some edema in the hands in feet which I know is normal to a point. I was instructed to stop entirely my blood pressure med for now because it was dropping my pressure too low for me and now I'm wondering if I might have to start that back up again, I'm a bit scared about it, never had high b/p until my youngest was born, and I don't like the idea of messing with heart meds like this. Please, wish me the best!!!

I'm at the beginning of week 16. Belly is growing day by day -- and I love it!!! What I don't love, though, is the fact that I went from a "D" to an "F" in about a week! Total bra emergency! I've gained 10 or so pounds -- and most of it in my boobs! And this is still early!
Finding clothes that fit has been a bit of a pain. It feels like it is all happening at once. A friend who just had a baby 3 weeks ago lent me some maternity clothes, for which I am grateful!
I think, I think, I felt a flutter the other day.
