How is everyone this week? I hope that the m/s is starting to subside...
Mine is a lot, but mainly I feel like the fatigue has lifted and I can function again. I am getting stuff done at work, and can stay up past 7:30 at night :bigeyes. And I feel like chatting again (you can't tell by the length of this post... ;) )
That said, I also feel less pregnant for some reason because I don't have a constant reminder of feeling like I could barf at any second. I know that everything is fine, but I wake up and have to remind myself that I'm pregnant. I think it's just harder to focus on this baby because I've got more going on this time than I did with ds.
And I've started swelling by the end of the day already. Just my feet, and I think it's because the weather warmed up, but I'm a little disconcerted about it. I'm drinking at least 2litres of fluids daily, and any more would make me feel like I'm going to float away, but I guess I'll up it a little more... and get a really good pair of comfortable sandals for work. I'm a size 12 as it is, so the selection is terrible for me, and now I can barely fit a 12. I figure in a few months I won't be able to see my feet anyhow, so who cares what shoes I'm wearing? Off to the men's section I go...
:hugs and :love to all

14 wks, 4 days
Doint well here! I'm really starting to show now and making the transition to maternity wear. That's been a bit tough this time around, since I wasn't quite ready, but dh is sooo... ready for me to be showing.
I haven't thrown up since last week, and my appetite suddenly returned this week! Everything sounds good now. Even (actually, especially) spicy foods like Mexican and Southwestern style food. Before this week it has been bland city around here. Nothing with even a hint of flavor was good to me for the last several months.
Oh, I've also been feeling the baby for the last week, which is about a month sooner than I felt it with dd, but I knew what I was feeling this time. Anyway, I'm really starting to feel pregnant here, and starting to very much enjoy it!

Hello again!
16 weeks!!! It seems like just yesterday I was looking at the little pink line... Anyway, I've officially given up 97% of my pants. I went shopping with my girlfriends yesterday and they helped me pick out some great stuff. Everything was really cute at Old Navy--I even got a diaper bag that I :love :love :love It's olive green canvas with rainbow handles; not too girly, no pastels, no cartoon characters, and it's HUGE! (It also does NOT have OLD NAVY emblazened (sp?) across the side, just in case you're wondering) We also went to the Gap, but I think I'll need to win the lottery before I can afford anything there... $48 for a shirt???
I'm feeling great, starting to realize that I have to make allowances for my belly (leaning over to get something off the floor is not as easy as it used to be). Haven't felt the baby yet (at least I don't think so) but I'm a newbie, so that's okay.
Question for BTDT mamas: When you start showing, where do you show? I had a little bit of a roll on my tummy before pg, and now it's so hard to tell if that part is getting fatter or my uterus is pushing everything out of the way. I thought I would show down on my lower abdomen first, since that's where baby is right now, but my pooch is right around my belly button.

I'm 12 weeks and 2 days. I've seen my OB twice but finally after searching and searching online and emailing a few people I think I may have found a midwife. I have the email addy of one and the name of 2 so hopefully something will work out.
My clothes are getting tight and for some reason I haven't been sleeping all that good.
.
Suddenly all I want to eat are tacos and apples.

Hello,
I'm going on 13 weeks...still feeling a lot of m/s. I've had two killer headaches that lasted all day in the past 72 hours. I rarely get headaches. I pretty much stayed in bed all day with a hot bean bag on my head and sunglasses on.
Yeah, I'm in maternity. My regular shirts aren't long enough to cover the bulge now, and regular pants aren't comfy. I went to a graduation party yesterday and everyone was asking how far along I was and if I knew the baby's sex, LOL.
I'm not really craving anything in particular. Actually, I don't like to eat the same thing twice. What sounds good at lunch (and what I eat) sounds vile by dinner, and something totally different is appealing. So I guess I'm eating a varied diet!
Have a good week everyone!

Chelsea,
When you start to show, the actual part that is baby, is below your belly button until sometime around 20 weeks. Then your whole belly starts to get big fast. But, you will pudge above your belly button too, if you are like most people, just because the hormones relax all of those muscles. So, you look like you are showing more than you really are. Oh, on a side note, my uterus reached my belly button by 17 or 18 weeks last time since I have a short torso, so I really was showing a bit sooner than some people. If you are tall and skinny it may take longer for your uterus to reach your belly button and make your belly pop out. :)

chelsea, i've been trying to gauge that too: why is my belly out to here when i know my uterus stops there? i'm just accepting it as a part of the process at this point, though. i've already gained 10 or so pounds from the starting point, which is a little alarming, but i'm eating well and exercising a bit and my job is pretty physical, so i figure the bod is doing what it needs to do.
13 and a half weeks, here, and i'm feeling pretty good--was in l.a. this weekend (thought of you, stanya), and went to n.o.m. in a futile attempt to find something good on the sale rack. dang. everything is so cute, and so $90! did get a superlong tank top. sure is a nice feeling to have the bulge not sticking out from under a shirt.
also, i swear that every day the softball--er, the cantaloupe? is bigger. i check on it every morning when i wake up, and it's definitely more than halfway to my bellybutton now. sure is neat.
happily gestating,

The baby might still be low, but it is pushing all your guts up higher!
I'm 13 weeks on thursday, still feeling tired but the m/s is pretty much gone as long as I am careful about what I eat. I am thinking of getting out the maternity clothes soon, I can't fit in to most of my normal clothes. The trouble is the maternity clothes are stil much too big.
I'm getting achy bones already, and I feel really tired most of the time, I'm wondering if that has to do with my blood pressure which is 95/60 (quite low)
I'm so unbelievable emotional at the moment, crying over the tiniest things, even when I know it's not worth crying about.
I'm also feeling a bit annoyed about how expensive maternity clothes are and they are all the one style that does not suit me. I don't want to pay three times as much for a top that I will only wear for a few months.

Hey all: 12 weeks 3 days today..went to the midwife for the initial appointment finally..found the heartbeat..152 a minute..it sounded like heaven and finally made it more real. I was dozing with Elijah on me and just felt my whole body communing with the babies..it was really great! I read spiritual midwifery this week, and had a few gigglies over the 70s hippie language, but otherwise it was a neat book. My midwife works with the ladies at the Farm a lot apparantly. I am measuring a bit big, but I did with Elijah too. My evening sickness really isn't gone. It let up some over the weekend, but it's back with a vengeance today and yesterday. blah. I am having food problems, too. I just never have much of an appetite for anything. I lost 1 pd from my prepregnancy weight which is why I'm not in need of maternity clothing yet..butI kind of want to wear it because it makes me feel less fat and more pregnant!! My uterus is already poking out and the midwife's apprentice was surprised she could feel it..I can already also feel the baby flutter in there.
Maternity cheap: Ebay...or Target has some things..limited but functional...I haven't tried Old Navy yet. Motherhood Maternity is not terrible, but you know..you only end up buying a few things and getting mighty sick of them, so Ebay or thrift stores might be better for some variety.
Still hanging on here in Hotlanta (rainy hotlanta today LOL)

Just got back from Dr's today. I'm 13 weeks along. Heard the heartbeat, 150 BPM. I've been feeling movement for about a week and half now. MS is still horrible, Dr wasn't happy I've lost 10lbs, gave me Promethazine to take for MS. Hope it works and hope the puking goes away soon. DD hasn't nursed in over a month now. She just stopped asking. Not sure why, either my milk changed or even though i tried to hide it she saw how much it hurt. So, I guess she's weaned! We did good, nursed almost 4 years so I can't complain.

I'm about 16 weeks now and still can't really eat anything... That being my main "symptom", I'm not complaining, really! I had a really difficult time with morning sickness, headaches, etc. with my last pregnancy, so I feel mighty blessed to be sailing through this pregnancy so far. I am just amazed that I can actually function on basically nothing but watermellon! I'm a little worried that it could become a problem, going into the warm weather, I can't see myself having a huge appetite, until maybe the fall. I told my dh this baby will probably be all of 5 pounds at birth, lol!
I'm in the same boat with maternity clothes, regular clothes to small, maternity too big...so I went to Old Navy and bought some nice cotton, elastic tie shorts and long, plain tshirts (no logos here either, lol!). It worked out nicely this past week, and it would be really nice if they would carry me through the summer months :)
Hope everyone has a good week!
edited to add: I still don't feel regular, definate movement yet (sometimes little bumps that I think oh, theres the baby! but wait for more and there are none)...and this is my fourth, so I should be, right? I started feeling movement at 14 weeks with my last. I get worried, but can talk myself out of it. Would you be concerned?

I'm starting to feel pretty good:) I'm 14 weeks today and feeling the baby move a few times a day. I'm showing right around my belly button and in all maternity clothes now. I'm able to go to bed at a reasonable time finally. My only complaint is that I am starting to wake up 10 times a night to pee :eyesroll

Monkeyprincess: I wouldn't worry...I couldn't feel Elijah till around 16/17 weeks and he's my 3rd. I'm feeling this one a lot and it seems awfully early. :)

I will be 16 weeks and I can still wear all my clothes. I feel the baby move more some days than others and on the days I don't feel it a lot, I get kind of panicky.
My classes started on Monday and I am having a hard time with it because I am home with ds all day and by the time the after school rush is over and dinner is done, I am just too tired to study. I am usually such a night owl that it wouldn't be a problem. I forgot how tired I get when I am pregnant.

I feel bad for all the mamas who are having trouble eating and keeping things down--this baby is ravenous 24/7!! I have to eat every hour or so, and even then I wake up in the middle of the night hungry. Last night we went out for dinner and I had a cup of soup, a small steak, three shrimp, and a baked potato--it was SO GOOD! I actually slept all night (I think because of all the protein I had for dinner, and we didn't finish eating until almost 9pm). This morning I ate a bowl of Cheerios and had a cup of hot chocolate at 6:00am. Now it's almost 8 and I feel like I didn't eat anything!
Luckily I've only gained about 7 pounds so far...any other mamas on this side of the fence instead of having tons of m/s?

I *thought* I was feeling better (15 weeks here), but then I threw up two days in a row this week and nearly fainted on the subway. I am such a wimp that I don't ask anyone for a seat. I should be more assertive. Otherwise my belly has popped but I haven't gained any weight.

Hey everyone,
I'm at 13 weeks 5 days today and feeling so much better now that I'm off the boat (no more puking). I still have aversions and cravings though (i'm going for Mexican too!) and have a hard time with meat, especially big pieces.
I haven't been to a doctor or midwife yet simply because I haven't been home (Canada, where I have medical coverage). I can't wait to finally hear that heartbeat!
I'm getting headaches occasionally as well, but mostly I feel pretty good. Much better than before. I'm showing just a bit I think now though most of my clothes still fit. I did buy my first maternity jeans which I won't be able to fit for a while (they're absolutly huge!) and that was kind of fun- my first experience with a pillow in a maternity store!
I was shocked at how early so many moms are experiencing their quickening. I certainly haven't felt a thing! But I can't wait for that either...
Happy 2nd trimester everyone!

Okay, so did I really post that I was feeling better, cause that lasted until Tuesday? Now I'm worse. I've had a headache/dizzy feeling, been barfing at least 2ce per day, and I'm so exhausted. I think the headache has to do with the thunderstorm that's been trying to happen for days, and barometric pressure always does a number on my system anyways, but the barfing is just, well disconcerting. I'm going to get my bp checked, even if I have to go to a drugstore just to be sure.
I'm definitely showing, but still too big for my regular clothes, and not really big enough for maternity. I'm making due with as much as I can for work, and am glad that tomorrow is dressdown day! Stretchy pants, here I come!!!
I'm glad to see that most everyone is starting to feel better... it's so exciting that some are feeling their babies already. I think I feel him/her once a day or so, but I really can't tell what's the baby and what's gas because I've been so bloated lately.
Take Care All :hugs

I'm 16w1d and still puking 2-3 times a week. Things had been tapering off around this time with DS, but this year's allergy season is shaping up to be a lot worse than 2 years ago. So I'm going back and forth between no appetite and starving.
I have a lot more energy that I did first tri, but I'm still way more tired than usual. Plus DS and I have both had colds over the past couple of weeks, so that has me worn down more than usual and him higher maintenance than usual. Not a great combination!

aw, i'm so sorry that some of you guys are still feeling badly! i have the occasional nonsequitur wave of nausea (at 14 and a half weeks), but for the most part i'm feeling a lot better. i'm actually sore from doing yoga yesterday, which is a sensation i haven't felt for awhile, heh. the one thing that continues to bother me is the sneezing-bloody noses-sinus headache trio. every morning i wake up sneezing, which often aggravates the round ligament pain and prevents me from sleeping as much as i want to. trying to combat it with the neti pot. i'm also a little alarmed at *how much larger* i am already. it's probably because a lot of my friends are losing weight at the moment, and i'm going in the other direction. most days i'm into it, but sometimes i just have a hard time with the fact that almost none of my prepreg clothes fit me (and, like many of you, almost none of my maternity clothes, either. ack!). i do look pregnant, though. and my first one was 10#, so i probably just grow 'em big.
hugs to the mamas! hope you guys are feeling better soon.

Just thought I'd pipe in to say we had a "surprise" ultrasound yesterday...that is, I had no idea I was going to have one until I got there and they asked if I wanted to..there's 1 very cute mobile baby in there :) He/She was waving his/her arms around and it was just sooo cute. It was my first vaginal u/s..never even knew they did that! So, nice bonus since yesterday was a really crappy day otherwise :)

I'm sorry some of you are still sick... hope it passes soon! As for me, I am no longer sick, I just can't eat in the morning which is not that strange for me. I have no idea how pregnant I am and never seem to get up the motivation to figure it out! I figure the midwife will clue me in on my next visit- she has that cool spinny dial thing! This is so different from my last pregnancy. I swear, I knew how many days along I was! Have a great week!

Good Day November Mama's: I've been off the charts (forum) for a while, battling migraines, but feel great today. My ms has disappeared! As I hope it soon will for all you still struggling. Some days I don't feel preg at all, just fat. But trying not to dwell on that, as I know the time will be all to short in this phase.
For various non pregnancy related reasons I have given notice to my part time job that was killing my back and on occasion causing migraines (flourescent lighting that occasionally flickers) So I am looking forward to easier more carefree days ahead with my dd!
Life is good.
