hello gals! it's been a while since i've written, as it's been busy in my little household. my dh is leaving for alaska friday morning for a job interview, and on the way back, he'll stop in sultan, WA for another interview!! wish us luck, as i'm the bread winner at this point......and retail does NOT bring out the best in me!!!! on may 29 it was Mahlah's one year anniversary of her birth/death. it wasn't as dreadful as i expected, until i checked the mail box after crawling out from under my rock.....so many sweet cards from my friends at church, work, and my midwife. at the birth center where we started in labor, there's a tree on the wall where, when a baby is born, they put a leaf on the tree with the baby's name on it. at the baby's first birthday, the leaf is mailed to the parents......my midwife sent me a card and Mahlah's leaf. i stuck it in my bible........now that i got that off my chest, i found a new book on baby loss. it's called LOSING YOU TOO SOON. it's written by Bernadette Keaggy. a really helpful thing was the list of resources at the back of the book. the author's husband also shared his views, which is one of the few pieces of literature that seems to remember the daddies involved. i hope everyone is doing well, and again, i'm so glad this board exists!!

grace & peace,

Mahlah's ma

Karen,
Thanks for posting.
Anniversaries are so hard to get through. I hope a measure of peace has come your way. It is wonderful that your received your babies leaf. What a special momento. I know I cling to any little momento I can. I have never heard of that book but I think I will keep an eye out for it.:hug
