Who has already made the transition? Who thinks they will move sizes soon?

I like having a bigger size, both for now and for postpartum. I don't really need maternity right now but my regular clothes are getting uncomfortable, and there's nothing worse than trying to squeeze into a pair of too tight jeans postpartum.
I bought 2 pairs of black yoga pants and I'll being getting a lot of use out of them during this next year. They are low-waisted and elastic, so I should be able to wear them for much of the pregnancy and then again afterwards.

Maybe it's just me, but I bought a couple of pairs of pants in a bigger size when I was pregnant with Tessa, and I ended up just looking fat! ;)

I prefer the look of maternity clothes for pants, although shirts/dresses are easier to just buy "regular".

Hi, I'm due in Feb 2005 so maybe i shouldn't be responding, but I'd been thinking about this over the weekend so it seemed fortuitous to run into your post...

With my last pregnancy, I borrowed some clothes up a size before switching to maternity, but I don't really want to do that this time. I think slygrrl is right, then you just look fat. I have gained so much weight already that my regular clothes don't fit (I did this immed weight gain thing with my last one too), but I think I'm going right to maternity clothes. Who cares if my belly doesn't fill the front out yet. They're comfortable clothes and I can save money by just buying clothes one time. I am buying elastic waist stuff more then the pants with the pooch in front or the cutesy dresses (of course, i'm also buying used, so there is only so much selection and a lot of it is the girly girly stuff).

I'm glad to hear what other folks are doing!

I went straight into maternity. This is my 5th pg in 6 years so there isnt' much left in muscle tone in the uterus these days ;) With the m/s it's much nicer to have the extra room in the belly. I go home in maternity wear postpartum anyway.

With my last 2, I POAS and gained 10lbs! :LOL so I needed maternity/bigger clothes fairly early on. This pg. I am chasing 2 toddlers, so I haven't gained wt. yet, I'm just bloated. But, I tend to wear my clothes on the loose side, so I think (read: hope) I will make it most of the way through the summer before busting out the maternity clothes.
