Dear Mums,
My gauzy swaddling cloths arrived from your part of the world.
They are 120 cm square I believe. Now I need your help
on how to properly swaddle! That seems like a lot of cloth
on a small infant. Is there a web site you would recommend?
The clothes are only going to be as good or effective as I wrap them.
Thank you profusely,
Patricia in Dayon, Ohio

I just put my babies in the centre of the long side (OK yours is square! mine were rectangular), at about shoulder height, held arm at side and wrapped one side over to tuck in behind baby, then wrapped the other side over the top holding in the other arm, then turned under the bottom like a flap behind baby
this mob folds the cloth into a triangle first, it sounds like a good method:

Hi, here is a link to a website with pictures for the "Aussie swaddle"
http://www.swsahs.nsw.gov.au/karitane/docs/wrap.asp
I've never tried it, but have heard it's quite successful because the baby's hands are positioned up by the mouth if they want to suck their fingers through the cloth.

Wow,
Great link. Thanks a bunch for the site. I am absolutely thrilled
with the Aussie style wraps. I think I found true swaddle blankets in time.
My baby - now 5 days old broke his clavical during delivery and needed
to be immobilized in addtion to the simple comfort of the swaddle.
Thanks!
