Hello! I'm about 5 months pg, and I plan on working in my office for as long as I can. I spend most of my time at my desk/computer in a very standard office chair. It has arms and it rolls, but other than that its not very fancy. I also have a small stool to put my feet on, but my desk is so low that my knees barely fit when I use the stool.
I'm usually fine for an hour or two, but then my back starts hurting, and by the end of the day it's torture! At home I sit on my exercise ball instead of the computer chair, but I have a feeling that wouldn't look very professional here at work. I recently got a maternity belt, and that helps my back some, but it makes my stomach muscles ache, no matter how loose I wear it. I know I should try a pillow in the small of my back, but does anyone have any other suggestions? I would really appreciate it! :D

I was thinking I'd either get a pregnancy ball or one of those office seats that you kneel and rest your bottom on. It may not look professional, but I think the baby is more important than that. If anyone asked, I'd just explain.

How about this?

I've actually seen similar chairs at office supply chain stores. It looks like a more legitimate office chair than the ball alone.

I worked through most of my first pregnancy and after a while my office chair was uncomfortable. I talked to my boss and told him that if I could sit on my exercise ball, I would be more productive. He agreed and let me bring my ball in. I would talk to your boss and see if you could possibly sit on the exercise ball since they are much more comfortable.

I second the pregnancy ball/ Swissball/ fitness ball. I'm sitting on one now at 33 weeks PG. Very comfy and easy on the joints, and good for your balance, too :)

Ooooh, I know...
I worked until ds2 was 2 weeks overdue. I LOVED my kneeler chair. It's great for the back and lets the big ole belly hang out. Totally comfortable:D
Edited to add:
one of those office seats that you kneel and rest your bottom on.
Yep--that one!

I use a birth ball/physiotherapy ball for a computer chair. Very comfortable and my spine is better aligned....PERFECT for optimal fetal positioning! :) And, at $30 it's less expensive than an office chair. I've had a few clients that used their birth balls for work chairs.

I just "traded" my computer chair for the ole birthing ball. :LOL I just need to get one of those rings for it to sit in and keep it a little more steady. Gets tiring trying to always keep it steady. And the kids take off with it everytime I get up. :LOL
You might consider a "donut" if your boss isn't to keen on the ball idea. You could put a little pillow case over it so it wouldn't look obvious. :)
Hope you find comfort quickly.

Sometimes if you have a bit less air in the ball, it's not quite so hard to keep steady. :) LOL! I hear you about the kids taking it, though. It's the most popular plaything in our house~

Well, after all that reassurance (sp?) from you ladies about bringing in the ball, I did it! I didn't even ask, I just brought it in (my two female co-workers encouraged me to do it also). The boss-man just walked through, and he didn't say a word!! Men are so funny like that... :eyesroll
I will definitely need to buy another one for home though, because I use it ALL the time there. My two nephews and my neice :love coming over to play with it! :)
:OT
Does anyone else like to squat with the ball behind you, then lay your back on it and roll backwards? It feels SOOOOOO good on my back. :D
