So we finally moved from Anchorage to Wasilla. Woohoo! We love our new home, the neighborhood is great and I even have myself have a dozen baby chickens. The bad news is that our local school is sub par (according to the neighbor who has a child going in to third grade and another going in to first.)

The neighbor said that her kids and the other children on the street go to the charter school, Midnight Sun is the name, I think? Anyway, I called the number and it said there is an orientation on August 12. Does anyone know if I can just show up and hope to get my oldest in to Kindergarden there? Will I have to put her on a waiting list and then enroll her in the crummy school if she doesn't get in?

I can give you information about schools in the valley, but I need more information. Midnight Sun is small, but sometimes thats a good thing. I have worked with just about every school out there and know a lot of principals. If you need an educater who know a lot about the school systems, contact Pam Lewis at palmer middle. she is absolutly wonderful, tell her carri still misses her and motherhood is an adventure. Oh and call her Missy, just for me! :]
