A synopsis of the posts on the last page of the last thread:
Jen reported: Jo is sick with a cold.
Chrissy had a massage and said it was HEAVENLY!
Danielle had a good tip night despite work being miserable, and her 32-week checkup was super despite the fact that she's still 7.5 lbs down.
Meredith seeks opinions on washing diapers. If you have a washing routine, please share it.
Chrissy says that she is tired and using up a lot of her energy on Noah, leaving little for her hubby. And she's not sure how much weight she's gained!
Savannah brought the crib down from the attic, and is wishing her belly were bigger.
Happy middle of July everyone!

I don't think I posted even once last week!
Had my 32 week check-up yesterday and went over a LOT of stuff, since my midwife is skipping the country for a month. (She's going to Guatemala to work in a clinic there or something.)
So, we discussed our contingency plan, since I'll be good to go about a week before she returns. I'll be 38 when she comes back. I'm just going to call her old partner, who actually was the one who ended up at Isabelle's birth, so that's fine.
I have only gained 1 lb in the last 6 weeks, but the baby is growing well, and I gained a lot quickly early on, so we're good with that. I'm now up about 22 lbs from pre-pregnancy, and holding.
blah blah blah. Tonight I lay in bed with Cullen and we played TurboTwist Math and I played "grab the foot" on his turns. teehee! Baby keeps sticking a foot out my side, right under the ribs, and I keep poking it back. Fun!

Oh! I also ordered the sleigh bed cosleeper, since it's the only one that adjusts tall enough to work with my bed, and also that amby-baby hammock, for baby napping, and other baby sleeping at a time when I can't sleep with him.

Things have been busy here. I've been sorting through closets and stuff. Been posting FS lists and trying to down-size some stuff.
Seems like I only really have time to read and not get to post much. I've been posting some over on the Diapering board, that place is crazy. :) They are soooo chatty over there. I find myself reading and replying to a few posts over there... next thing I know its almost 2 hours later. :eek Major time suckage. :rotflmao
Jen- Sorry to hear about Jo's cold. Summer colds are the worst!
Julia- oh yes... the Tour... I've be watching the Lance Chronicles for the last ... too many weeks. :LOL David is very much into watching the Tour, which means I've been watching it since my computer is in the same room with the TV. :LOL David was really into cycling before we met and has gotten back into it again in the last few years (he now has several road and mountain bikes). In fact just the other night he FINALLY broke down and bought a trainer/spinner to put his bike on. They were having a "Tour special" and he got it cheaper than he could have gotten it online. :thumb He isn't riding as much as he'd like with the rainy weather lately and of course the lack of "extra" time when you have kids. He used it Thursday night before he had to go out of town... says he wished he'd gotten it sooner. (I only told him to get one 6 months ago :eyesroll ) I honestly don't think a day has gone by in the last 2 months that I haven't heard "something" from David about Lance. :LOL He and Tori are making a sign to put in the frontyard that says "Go Lance". Yes, my 3 year old DD knows who Lance Armstrong is. :innocent :innocent She can pick him out of a row of magazines. She can also pick out Michael Schumacher the German Ferrari F-1 racer. :shake :shake She is soo into her Daddy's interests. :) :)
Aaaah the weight gain... I've gained over 40+ pounds so far. I started out at about 140 (with about 20 pounds leftover from Jack's pregnancy where I gained 65+ pounds!!) and I was looking at my records at my last appointment... I was 183 when Tori was born and 185 with Jack... I'm currently at 188 and still have 8+ weeks to go. :yikes: :yikes I don't know if I'm bigger (okay I know my butt certainly is. :irked:) than I was before. I don't think my belly sticks out as much as it did before at this weight.
Is anyone else's belly button REALLY sensitive? I have a deep innie (usually) but it always goes pretty flat but not to the point of being an outie. That skin is soooo sensitive. And I keep brushing it right on the edge of the counter. Ooh ooh that smarts. :irked:
Last week I had a couple nights of very little sleep. For some reason Radish decided that at about 11pm was time to be in almost constant motion... until about 10am the NEXT morning. :irked: And he did this several night in a row. Everytime I found a comfortable position where my pelvis or back didn't hurt... he'd start moving all around. :irked: :irked: I don't think I slept longer than 25 minutes all night. I think I need to "disturb" him more during the day so that he'll slept more at night. I don't think I'll be able to handle a wide awake night owl newborn. Not with my two early morning risers. How did this happen? How did I end up with two morning birds when I'm a total night owl?? Well, at least Radish will be like me... and I'll be dead from exhaustion. ;)
Chrissy- I hear you about the energy level and being too tired for DH... that has gone over like a lead brick. :( It's so hard to balance everyone's needs and not feel wiped out.
Got some possibly disturbing news this weekend. David's guard unit might get called up to active duty for the "sandbox". They can't keep sending all the active duty units over there, many of them have been deployed 2-3x. He wouldn't be "leaving" stateside until early next year but they are talking about training and organizing equipment stuff as early as late Aug-early Sept. :( He would still be here in Texas but across the state... when I'm due. :bang :bang And here I thought we'd dodged the bullet when they cancelled the 3 week AT in Equidor (a place I'd rather he wasn't with all the american "kidnapping") in late Sept-Oct due to lack of funds because of the war. I really don't want him gone when I'm due... heck I really don't want him gone PERIOD. Ugh, the military sometimes. :( It's "suppose" to be "volunteer" at this point but if there's aren't enough people to fill slots... they will deploy whole units. Hopefully we'll know something in the next couple of weeks.
Oh and my mom will probably be out of town when Radish comes. The weekend he's due, she's going to be in Virginia with the National Greyhound Adoption Conference. She's heavily involved with Greyhound rescue and adoption. I'll be ticked if neither of them are here for the birth. I don't know what I'll do, my MIL is the only other one we trust the kids with so she'll be here at the house with Tori and Jack (neither can be in L&D). And honestly I'm not that close with her that I'd really want her as my birthing partner YK? Ugh! I so don't need this. :bawl
This weekend was a huge "get all the paperwork together in case they decide to deploy us" weekend at drill for David. They of course couldn't find his current VAX records so they gave them all to him again. MMR, Typhoid, and about a half a dozen others... so he's feeling like total crap now. He says he's had a pounding headache all day. Great, now he's going to be all pathetic for the next couple of days. ;) ;)
Well it's late and I've been up since 5am... stupid dog HAD to go out right then, HAD to bark really loud and made enough noise to wake Jack up for the day... :bang :bang :bang Good thing he was so smiley and gave me a huge snuggle hug when I went into his room to get him... otherwise the boy might have gotten a pillow in the face. (I'M JOKING!!! ;) ) We spent the early morning giggling and playing on the floor. Okay so I sat in the same spot on the floor and he swirled around me playing. We had about 2 hours of one on one playing time and sharing of blueberry muffins. Jack is so sweet, he's at that age where he has to "share" the piece that's in his hand. Sometimes it's before he's slobbered on it :love sometimes... :yikes: I'm not so lucky. :LOL
Which reminds me! David made all this noise about wanting me to make some Blueberry muffins last week... so I made a batch on Tuesday night. When I got up Wednesday morning what was he eating for breakfast... TOAST!! Out of a batch of 12 muffins... he's eaten ZERO!! I on the otherhand... have eaten 3 and I don't even LIKE Blueberry muffins. :irked: :irked: He drives me crazy about making him muffins and he never eats more than one maybe two! He likes me to put walnuts in the Banana Oatmeal muffins I make. Well, I can't give those to Jack then (who LOVES the Banana Oatmeal muffins). We won't give him nuts until he's three. Tori has only just started to have nuts, but I have to be careful that she doesn't give any to Jack then. She's into being helpful and trying to "feed" Jack all the time. So what happens... I end up eating most of the muffins because they are only good for "maybe" a week if I'm lucky. Thank you I already eat enough without baking for him and then eating everything. Can't tell you how many batches of Chocolate Chip cookies I've eaten in the past couple of months because HE wanted some. "No honey, don't put oatmeal in them, I like the plain CC ones better..." :irked: Yeah, well I like oatmeal in it (so does Jack... aah my little oatmeal eater that takes after his mommy :love :love) and from now on, I'm putting oatmeal in them since I just ate most of the last batch!! AGAIN!! :eyesroll :eyesroll
Okay, NOW I'm going to go to bed... yeah right. :LOL :LOL

Samantha, I'm about to pee myself! Your post was so funny. It's nice to see you can be so chipper after being up so early.
I'm SOOOOO sorry to hear dh might be deployed again. I can't imagine how hard that would be. As for the muffins, why not pop some into the freezer? IME, bread products of all kinds freeze well.
Chrissy, I've been reading a lot on the boards, just not posting much. I'm often on the hb board and birth and beyond.
The amby baby is this:
http://www.ambybaby.com/Products/InfantPackage.asp
Which seems like an excellent idea in concept, since I have had those babies who will nurse to sleep, and then wake as soon as they're put down unless mommy lays down with 'em. But mommy doesn't always want (or isn't always able) to sleep every time the baby does, especially with older siblings! So, I'm hoping this might do the trick to keep him asleep until I can bring him to bed with me. From what I've read, it doesn't work for all babies (what does?!) but some people rave about it. So!
My older two now have the chicken pox, and dh was out of town on business last week, so I've just been busy.
Otherwise, our regional convention/hosta seedling competition is next weekend, and I am the official photographer for the event, as well as one of the judges, as well as having plants of my own to enter into the competition, AND I'm the Award Chair, and in charge of ordering ribbons (done) and getting engraved plates for the trophies (not done yet). I also need to dig and pot up a few more plants to bring along.
Last year I brought 9 plants and came home with 8 ribbons, so not too shabby. :D Last year it was only 45 mins. drive away, and unfortunately this year it's 2+ hrs. drive away, so I'm not really looking forward to the drive. Also, I'm going by myself, and have mixed feelings about that, too. But I'll be so busy, and dh would be bored out of his mind and likely stuck in the hotel with the kids most of the time, since it's in a nothing location. Room service typically doesn't offer such great vegan choices, either.

Hi ladies! I posted last week as a newbie! Thanks for the warm welcome, it's nice to be aroudn other due in SEptember mommies!!
I am not sure about the weight gain, going to the doctor tomorrow. Last month it was around 20 lbs, I had a high gain month because I was emotionally eating (darn dh!). Would anyone else think it fun to do waist size or how many inches around the waist that you've gained? I've gained about 11 inches around the belly. I am always having people tell me how small I am for when I am due. I think my belly looks really cute and round.
I have two boys and have been having all kinds of people tell me that this one is a girl, it's kind of freaky how many have come up to tell me that. We'll see when we meet Blessing! :) I will be thrilled either way, just want healthy and full term.
I am in the time frame where I had problems with preterm labor in my other pregnancies, so I am trying to stay relaxed and calm. Things seem to be quiet but I don't want to *jinx* things (if I had that power :LOL ). I am really working hard at postive imagry, picturing going full term and having an 8lb baby. I am 30 weeks today and going for another ultrasound tomorrow to check placenta previa location. Keep me in your prayers that things have moved where they need to be. Also having my GD test in the morning. My dad is coming with me and he is very excited, he has never seen anything like this. I am glad he is coming, where several years ago I would have never though of it.
I am going natural this time and am meeting with my doula and back up doula today to work on my birth plan. I am excited!! I will still be birthing in the hospital because of my history of needing to stop labor several times and needing the NICU both other times and hoping not to need either this time! :) Still trying to decide what to do about picture taking at the birth. DH said that he would do it again, but doesn't have a good history. The video of DS2 is the back of a hospital employee- :irked: .
Going to make my hospital bag up this week. I also am going through some boys clothes that we have and some donated girl clothes we have to see where we stand for baby clothes. I want to get them washed and put in drawers so that we are ready and I can see what we need to buy to fill in the gaps.
On another note, we went camping this weekend and I got over 20 mosquito bites. Mmight not be so bad but I have a really bad reaction to them and they are killing me. Anyone have any good remedies for the itchies now and to prevent? My OB office said that low doses of DEET are okay but other pg. moms said not to use DEET. I need to do something, because I can barely take this. One bite site is 2x3" and swollen, to give you idea- :yikes: .
Well, kiddos are getting roudy and I need to get ready to take Kyle to swim lessons. he is doing wonderful! Thanks for listening to all my chat!!

I also just posted my re-introduction last week. I tried to be part of the group at the beginning but got busy with work and everything else and have been MIA since March. I’m back now, hopefully for good this time.
I’d love to say that things have slowed down around here, but I’m afraid the opposite is true. DH is on summer break, getting ready to start his third and final year of law school late next month. In the mean time, he’s working two jobs over the summer, both law-related. I’m also keeping busy with work with three jobs. I work FT from home doing medical transcription while taking care of my 3-year-old DS. I work PT (literally 3-6 hours a week) at a store in the mall, and I recently just started teaching Bradley childbirth classes.
If that wasn’t enough to keep us busy, we’re moving! It’s not a huge move, thank goodness, but a move nonetheless. We’re moving from our apartment to a duplex about 15-20 minutes away. I’m not crazy about having to move, but the apartment was going to hike up our rent and the duplex is $200 less per month than what we’re currently paying with the same amount of room. With our little one due soon, it made so much more sense to move and save money than to go further in debt and struggle even harder to keep to our already tight budget. So we’ve just started the moving process. Luckily, we have a little over a month to make the transition.
I’ve had a really great, easy pregnancy thus far, but I had a bit of a scare last night. Right after dinner, I started getting regular Braxton-Hicks contractions that were quite pronounced. They were occurring every 5-7 minutes, and the first two times it happened, really caught me off-guard. Well, I lied down on the couch, drank a glass of water, and tried to relax while watching a movie. It seemed to help. I could still fell BH, but they started to become more irregular and less pronounced. This morning, though tired, I’m feeling better. I’m convinced that last night was a warning sign for me to slow down and cut back the stress, only I don’t know how. Any suggestions? Our family is 800+ miles away (and anti-supportive of our AP ways, including having a midwife instead of a doctor and going to a birth center for the birth of this baby). They plan on _visiting_ after the baby arrives, but that’s it, so they aren’t any help.

runningmommy - lavender oil always helps my itchy mosquito bites. I measured my belly around a few weeks ago and came up with 46 inches, which is about a 16 inch gain. As we say up here in Scandanavian country, uffda!
Samantha - I'll eat some of your muffins, they sound really yummy and the last thing we want to do in the heat up here is turn on the oven!!! Yeah, I love the military and their "voluntary" deployment, the dad of one of my students got called up after 13 years of being on inactive reserve and spent a year deployed, stateside thankfully but with the (what I would consider) nightmarish job of flying around the country to inform families that their sons and daughters had been killed in the line of duty. Being one who considers karma from time to time, it makes me wonder what he might have done in a past life to have to do such a duty in this life.
I hear that Jo is out of the shower (she's feeling better, btw, I think that it might have been a severe allergy attack from the dog and cat sitting she did on Saturday) so I ought to go shower since I have a chiro appt in an hour... and then I get to go register us at Peapods (http://www.peapods.com)!

Hey all!
I had a lovely lazy weekend at home, washing and sorting baby clothes. Was very peaceful. Took lots of naps and kept my feet up alot. Had to ice them a few times... all swollen and puffy. Sadly, we also discussed our budget, crunched some numbers and got all stressed out! Money sucks!!!!
On saturday, Jerome rescued a baby raccon from the garbage dumpster by our apartment. The poor little thing was too little to crawl back out of the dumpster, and was partially trapped under garbage... yuck! Jerome donned long sleeves and work gloves, climbed into a nasty dumpster, pinned it with a bucket and then got a grip on the back off it's neck. That's when holy hell broke loose! that tiny little cute ball of baby fluff went psycho, growling hissing and doing everything in it's power to take Jerome's face off! He managed to toss it up onto the grass beside the dumpster and off it ran. Poor Jerome was shaking like a leaf! It was pretty funny, but I was proud of him, for rescueing the ungratefull little thing.
I am so dang sleepy today.. it's cloudy out, but super hot and humid. I just want to SLEEP!!!
Have birthing class tonight till 9:00. Gonna be a late, tired night for me...

This weekend was very nice and quite accomplished I must say. I managed to clean some and weed some. We also watched the tour each day - this is a daily routine. Thank goodness for tivo, so we can at least watch on our own time. We are huge cycling fans. DH is riding as much as he can right now cause a neighbour and fellow cyclist keeps telling him as soon as the baby comes there will be no more riding for a while. We'll see. We are getting a chariot trailer/stroller, so we'll be able to ride as soon as the bean can hold her/his head up and wear a helmet. Can you believe they sell them for babies? They are wee, but it's great. :) We even have a Lance Armstrong yellow jersey for the baby for when they are out in the trailer of course. ;) It's a copy of one he had made for his kids that Trek was selling.
Next weekend is my wedding anniversary. We have booked a bed & breakfast in a small town just a couple of hours away. We wanted a treat to mark the day, cause who knows when we will have a getaway again. Of course I am looking forward to the food aspect of the trip as there are some really good restaurants where we are going.
So life is good and sailing along. I'm counting the days till work is done...38 now! Yay!
Anna, it has been said before on these boards, but I'll say it again: Jerome is a sweetie!
MamaAcorn, make sure to relax. This is the time people accept you can do less and will be patient. Take advantage. Good luck with your move.
Hope the mosquito bites are better Runningmommy. And good luck in the plant competition Plantmommy.
:)

P.S. 30 weeks now. We visit the midwife this week and go every two weeks now. Looking forward to seeing how the baby is lying and finding out what I can do for the pain in my fingers after I sleep.

Hi MamaArcorn and Runningmommy!!
:LOL Glad my post was entertaining, I swear laughter is the only way I stay sane sometimes. :W
I'm afraid to put the muffins in the freezer... there are several loaves of Banana bread in there from last year. :eek :eek :LOL Guess I need to go through and clean out the old freezer and decide what I need to cook to re-stock it before Radish gets here. I try to have a bunch of easy to reheat meals in the freezer so that we don't slip into the eating fast food because we are too tired to cook routine. I usually have several batches of cookie dough in there for when visitors are going to come by. I only have to scoop them out onto the cookie sheets and bake. :)
Avon skin so soft is good for mosquitos. So is Burt's Bee's Lemongrass Bug repellant, it's also safe to use on babies and pets! Toothpaste is suppose to be good at handling the "itches". The paste not the gel.
We even have a Lance Armstrong yellow jersey for the baby for when they are out in the trailer of course. It's a copy of one he had made for his kids that Trek was selling.
Uh-oh! Wonder if David knows about those. :LOL When David bought the trainer last week, the guy said "you have kids don't you". David was like what does it show? The guy was like "everyone buys one of these after having kids, never as much free time as before." :LOL :LOL I'm hoping to use the trainer once I've healed and the thought of sitting on a bicycle seat isn't repulsive. :LOL
Nice to see a couple of new faces. Just jump right in. :)

Hi girls! Thought I'd join in the chat...
I was 30 wks yesterday. Today I am having all sorts of weird pains, I think babe must have moved into a weird position? It's very tight now on the right side of my rib cage and I keep getting weird feelings down by my cervix. Well, at least that feels like where it is! I guess it's a kick or something down there? It feels almost like bubbles popping down there??? Strange. We have a dr appointment tomorrow, so I may bring it up. Hopefully, he'll be able to tell me how the baby is lying now. He had been transverse (? crosswise), but I think he may have moved...
Anyways, we are thinking about getting one of those chariot things for our bikes. Or maybe one of those baby seats that goes on the back. We may be more comfortable with that b/c we do have to ride on a busy street for 1/2mi or so before we can get onto the side streets leading to the local trail. :)

Meredith, I keep forgetting to answer your diaper washing question. I think a lot of it depends on what kind of water you have. I'm not sure what kind of water we have (I think it's hard.) but it is really difficult to get all the detergent out of the diapers. What I finally found that works for us is to use 1/2 cap of Sportwash (aka Sensi-Clean) in a hot wash, then a few glugs of white vinegar in another hot wash, then another hot wash with nothing in it. Usually that will get all the bubbles out. Then I dry on hot til they're dry. Anything with PUL I line dry. Fleece I sometimes line dry sometimes dry in the dryer. Wool is a whole different story, but one of the best things about it is that you don't have to wash it much. Hopefully you will have easy water and not have to have such a complex wash. :)

anybody else having super vivid weird dreams lately?
Last night I dreamt about giving birth.... 6 times! I had 6 babies by time i was done, kept passing them through a little window to Jerome. When i was all done, i realized they all needed to nurse, so i started taking them 2 by 2 into bed with me while the others cried on a mattress on the floor. I remember thinking... I really should have bought one of those breastfeeding pillows! I also remember thinking that you guys (at Mothering) wouldn't beleive it when i posted about my "big news"!
I was so relieved to wake up and realize that my baby (singular baby!) is still in my body and isn't coming for awhile yet.
I've also had a preponderance of violent dreams... fighting and struggling. I am often as aggresive as anyone else in the dream. There's often a sensation that i am defending or protecting or avenging... very intense.
Well gotta go get some work done!
Later, Anna Banana

Hi all,
Steph in CA (as opposed to Steph down the street in MN) - I have the exact same feelings, and the low jabs to the cervix are horrific! But the midwife tells me that is just how baby is supposed to be lying - head down, arms up by the head (hence the jabbing in the nether regions), butt against left rib cage and feet in your right rib cage. Occasional jabbing on the left side could very well be elbows. My right rib cage is, frankly, getting kind of sore - but it sure beats the kicks in the cervix from when the kid was transverse last week. I will say: swimming helped the kid get into the right position!!
Today when I was at Peapods registering, a mom with a very young (3-week-old) baby was there looking at cloth diapers. She was fed up with the wraps she was getting from the diaper service and was looking for something that breathed better because it was so hot. She kept looking at all of the bummis, the stacinators, etc and saying "but they look so hot". True, they are lined with polyurethane! When the man (yes! a man! working in the store! knowledgeable about cloth diapers! I loved it!) tried to recommend wool to her, she thought he was crazy and started to talk about how disposables just seemed like they would be so much more comfortable for the baby. Uh? I held my tongue and didn't say to her "if your baby is hot and a whopping 3 weeks old, how about just laying her on a dipe on a blanket stark naked?!!" She doesn't even need to worry about a trajectory or anything with a girl!! I'm thinking that little one needs some naked baby time!!
Ah well. I need to go wrangle the cat carrier out of the porch and then condemn the cats to it... it is vet day today. Yahoo. Jo is coming home to hoist the carrier since I can't very well lift 18 pounds of cat.

Nearly every other day or so, this kid gets hiccups... right against my cervix, now that's a strange feeling!
Something I read the other day, indicated that we could be carrying as much as 20 lbs of extra liquid around in our bodies before this ends!! Jeepers! I must admit, i took comfort in the thought that perhaps some of this weight is just extra blood and extra water... my puffy feet seem to agree. Although my rear end thinks I'm being overly quick to believe.....

Anna, your rear end and mine are in cahoots. I keeping thinking "water retention ... water retention ..." and then BAM I get a glimpse of my keister in the mirror. DH thinks I'm crazy. I usually on the slim side and REALLY, I'm not weight obsessed. It's just a little meat on my bones looks like a ton to me. :irked:
My wild one thinks my bladder is the accelerator. *JAB* he punches me in the bladder, or cerevix, and I rise up out of the chair and off we go ... usually to the bathroom. "He's figured out how to drive this thing," DH points out. :rolleyes Ha. Upper-reaches kicks are getting closer and closer to my ribs. I was 30 weeks on Saturday.
My rings are getting a little snug, ankles are getting a little wide. I had to laugh at Week 30 in my pregnancy books. It said something like, "it may be hard to believe you actually have 10 weeks to go." Prior to reading this, I said, and I quote, "I can't believe I actually have 10 weeks to go." LOL. I look Fully Pregnant and About to Deliver. Supposedly wild one weighs 3 pounds. I bet it's closer to 5. I'm betting I'll top out at 9 to 10 pounds, no kidding. My son was 8 and half. Of course this one has a different dad, so I don't know how that will affect things.
Jen, rat info is stored away against future need. :thumb Since I've only obliged myself to a "maybe" for getting a rat when we get the new house built I'm not overly concerned ... seeing as construction has yet to begin!

Hi JenInMpls,
Thanks for the explanations about the baby pressures I'm feeling! I think he's moved into the same position as your little one. At least for this morning, we'll see where he ends up later! I was in the water last week, so maybe that moved him around... ;)

Hey Girls!
Can't post much, just wanted to say Hi and get subscribed.
Feeling like I have no time with everything happening in life right now... But feeling pretty good, a little less energy I think, and a few more aches and pains, but certainly closing in on the home stretch!
Happy Monday!

Whee, I'm so excited, i got my diapers today! :D (Seems like such a silly thing to be excited about.) Just nice basic unbleached prefolds and plain covers, but it's a start. I want to get some cute covers o go with the boring white ones. I just placed the order on Friday so I was really surprised to find the box on my back steps, I really wasn't expecting it. I also finished another baby quilt top. :) I'll have to take a picture and post it.
I go to the doctor tomorrow, woo. I have absolutely no clue what position Vaysh is in, I'll have to remember to ask as I'm curious. I get jabs all over the place. I apparently don't notice a lot of the movement, maybe I'm just used to it. The other night as we were going to sleep Vaysh was bouncing all around and my husband commented on it. I was half asleep and not paying any attention. He thought it was pretty neat though. Everything seems to ache and it is most annoying, especially rolling over in bed and getting out of bed. Owies!
Over the weekend my husband was trying to figure out the chances of when the baby will be born. He got his schedule for now to the end of August. They want him in Detroit the week of August 23rd. I'm due the 7th of September...eep! Hopefully Vaysh will not decide to arrive then! It's just a weensy bit stressful.
I should be getting a call soon to pick him up from the train so i should make sure I'm presentable since we have a couple of errands to run.

Samantha, I'm so sorry to hear about your birth support team possibly falling apart. Nobody needs that stress :( ... About the muffins, what about just mixing nuts into a few after you've spooned the batter in the cups? That way you can have plenty for Jack.
Runningmommy, the mosquitoes love my daughter. I make up a paste of baking soda and water to apply to the bites, then put a band-aid over, and it really seems to help with the itching.
So (to anyone who can answer) what does the Avon Skin So Soft smell like?
Well to make up for the speeding incident and my husband being sick with the flu for the past three days, I had a great day at the Oregon Country Fair with my girlfriends! A very strange thing happened, near the end of the day one of my friends and I stopped into this little shaded grove to rest. I left my friend sitting on the bench and went to find something to drink, and when I came back there was the midwife who attended my second birth sitting on the same bench! She is one of the most supportive people I've ever known, really believes in me and thinks I'm special. :love It's always so uplifting for me to see her. There were literally thousands of people at the fair, and she said she hardly ever goes out into the fair (there's a back area for people who work there and their SOs, kind of a fair within a fair) but just felt like taking a little walk and just happened to stop there to rest for a moment. I mean, what are the chances? So that was really neat and left me feeling uplifted and kind of awed at the synchronicity.
All the walking and heat and dust was hard on me though! I've spent practically all day today cat-napping in between chores. I'm feeling good otherwise though, and baby is moving around lots. All feels well!

Avon Skin So Soft is overly floral for my tastes, really, but it is still better than bug sprays (even the Avon Skin So Soft bug spray, which smells like bug spray).
But I don't go in much for florals, except jasmine. My favorite perfume, when I wear one at all, is Green Tea.
I'm just worn out today! Two night in a row waking up with poxie kids, getting kicked by poxie kids in my sleep in addition to this little one, and even with a nap today, I'm wiped out. It's kinda just struck me that I could be looking at just FIVE WEEKS until the baby is born, and I've so much to do!

Wow, how to keep up with you chatty mamas??? Those were some funny posts, haha! Thanks for the chuckles, Anna and Samantha...
I got two more beads (well, three, that was cute, Anna) today. I'm loving this; thanks for the idea, Jen! Isn't it odd how someone has 7 and others only have 3?? And some got mine and some didn't, though I sent them out Tuesday of last week, all at the same time? The mail is really weird....
I measured 46 inches at the waist last week, but have NO CLUE where I started... ??? 30? I wear a size 12/14 pants usually, whatever inches that translates to. I'm going to put up some new pictures at Yahoo tonight; Nicolas and I visited my sister's lake house today (my last two-hour drive, I'm sure, til after babies come). I rode her WaveRunner for my first time (so did Nicolas), and she took a cute picture of me in my favorite preggie bathing suit.
I've gained 24-25 pounds. Today I am 31 weeks. Tomorrow I see the final doctor I plan to interview before choosing who will attend the birth... I'm really excited about this one; my sister recommended her, and I heard she let her midwife deliver a Twin A BREECH recently!! I have not found any docs around here who let their midwives deliver twins (GA rules? insurance??) and NOBODY seems to be willing to try vaginal with Baby A breech, and very few like to try if Baby B is breech even if Baby A is in good position. With a maximum of 9 weeks left, it certainly would be nice to finally pick a doctor! :innocent Dh keeps bugging me about it, too.
My family won't really be around for the birth this time, either. Except my dear sister, who will come to the birth and likely take phenomenal pictures like she did last time... But with Nicolas, my mom and oldest sister visited for a week, my dad came down from Mass. (OK, he'll be around; he lives here now), and my dh's mom and grandmom came for a week. This time, my oldest sister works ft, my mom keeps avoiding the issue (has abdominal surgery soon, plus was weirded out last time when breastfeeding wasn't working well and baby lost a LOT of weight first couple weeks; she was sure he was going to die any second), my dh's grandmom is quite old and getting feeble, and his mom has no more vacation time at work and may have Italians visiting her house the three weeks right when the babies are due.
Blah blah, my post is long. Sorry about that! Good to see you posting again, too, Steph...

Hi, I introduced myself last week and I'm popping in to say hello.
I have my first visit with my homebirth midwife this afternoon. I'm very excited to meet her and get started. And my husband and I will get to spend a little time alone since we are dropping the kids off at Nana's house while we go to the appointment and do a few errands.
I'm with those of you who are tired. I feel worn out all the time. I think it is the heat and humidity. Fortunately my husband who's a teacher is home for the summer (well, only 3 more weeks now) so I can nap when I need to.
I've gained 30 pounds so far which was my goal for total weight gain. Ooops. Oh well. I started out about 20 pounds overweight so I didn't want to gain my usual 50. But I'm really swollen so perhaps that's some of it. I'm eating fairly well, too many desserts but lots of healthy stuff in between. I gained 50+ in my first and third pregnancies, and 35 with my second. My second is the only time my blood pressure has gotten to problem levels, so maybe I need the extra weight.
Is anyone doing any regular exercise? I was going to the gym (just using the treadmill) and I should go back but haven't been in a week and a half. I was feeling lots of pressure in my pelvis and lower back the last few times I went.
I started knitting a soaker the other day. I'm only just learining and it's going slow, but knitting is a great thing to do while I'm sitting with my feet up so maybe I can get a few done before the baby arrives. I started a sweater last month but I'm stuck and need some in perosn help. I'm going to see my sister this weekend so I hope she can help me and I can finish it soon.
I'll come back later and update after my midwife visit. And soon I'm going to figure out how to do a signature and link to some pictures of us.

I'm feeling a little bit better. I took yesterday pretty slow and took a lot of breaks from work to play with DS. Painting with a 3-year-old can be so therapeutic and relaxing! I'm sure that going to bed early last night helped too.
All this talk about muffins, and I just had to make some blueberry ones this morning for DS and I! Yummy! DH was complaining about not getting any before he left for work, and he's not usually crazy about muffins.
The heat has been getting to me lately too. Highs were around 95-98 all last week, and even though I stayed inside with the air on, I had no motivation or energy to do anything! I'm looking forward to the "cold" front coming in this week to drop temperatures down a bit (to the high 80s). In the meantime, I think a trip to the pool maybe in order.
Hope everyone has a good day and stay cool!

Hey... Whaaazzzzuppp!!!
Feeling kinda loopy today. Had birhting class last night till 9:00 and didn't get quite enough sleep.
Jerome has thrown me for a big loop.... Last night he tells me that he's considering poatponing his student teaching for another semester, or even year!!! this totally changes lots of things. I've been really worried about how we are gonna survive....
1. me not working
2. his student teaching starting same week baby is due
3. Being new parents
4. him working part time on weekends to make ends meet
5. being dependent on financial aid money while he teaches
If he does decide to wait to begin his student teaching.... it puts off our long term plans even longer, but will buy us the breathing space to be new parents in. We could move to the farm sooner (which will be over 600 dollars less a month in rent) in addition to lots of other household savings...
But, my job pays Jerome's tuition. So, if he doesn't teach this semester.... it won't be paid for! Which at about $8,000 a semester, is nothing to scoff at! However, some student teaching jobs are internships and can pay for most of the tuition costs...
all i really know is that this really changes things, it has me distracted and upset. I really don't like changes, and unknowns right now! And this decision can't be made in a hurry, so i have to live with this unknown quantity in my daily life. Darn it!
gotta run!
Highly distracted Anna Banana

Anna, to me this sounds like GREAT NEWS!!! I don't think you should be at all upset. Yay!!!!!!!!!
You will truly cherish the non-stressed time you and Jerome and baby have getting to know each other these first few months. Let tomorrow's worries (next year's teaching position) take care of themselves. God will work out the finances for you.
Excited for you!
P.S. Today I saw the babies again (even though I go to the peri tomorrow for my bimonthly u/s)... Both were smack against each other, both head down! I love that. STAY THAT WAY...

Savannah says- "Anna, to me this sounds like GREAT NEWS!!! I don't think you should be at all upset. Yay!!!!!!!!!"
I agree that it's a good thing... it's just that i know my husband, he's gonna dither and dather and struggle to make up his mind.. leaving me worried about the reality we are left with! Earlier in the pregnacy I argued for him to postpone student teaching and he convinced me we could make it work.... Which we CAN, I'm just worried about the reality of our daily lives if we do. I just wish he would make a decision and follow through on it whole heartedly!!!
I'm probably stressing too much about this, i just really don't like changes right now!!
Thanks for listening to my vent!
Have a lovely evening ladies.. we have a severe thunderstorm warning in effect here... the weird thing is that it is gorgeous outside right now. Big fluffy clouds, blue skies, a brisk breeeze. But, boy is it HOT!

Good morning *yawn* from Sprout and me... someone thought 4 AM was a great time to practice soccer moves. I'm very glad that I don't have a single thing to worry about tomorrow. I was considering going to the IKEA grand opening but with the crowds they're expecting, I think I'd rather stay home.
Went last night to my first prenatal aquacize class. It was good. Fairly fun, quite a workout for my soft squishy muscles but I don't hurt, so that's good. Only thing that drove me crazy was the swimsuit I had - a 2 piece from old navy - just does NOT work when you're moving around, I must have flashed everyone more than once. I went on eBay when I got home and found someone was selling a Speedo one size up from my slightly baggy suit (I lost so much weight when I was swimming every day 3 years ago that I needed to buy a new, smaller suit, and so now have two, one that's quite trim and one that's loose), so I hope I win that auction, esp considering she'll ship it priority mail and the starting bid was only $5.99 - yesterday I was the first bid on it with 15 hours left. Fingers crossed...
Found a great new doctor, not only for Sprout but also for me, I think. And Jo figures that she will start going there too, so we're all at one doctor. I'm all for that, maybe she can start some sort of different treatment for her allergies than pills and an inhaler although the combination sure works great for her.
question for all of you, a matter with which I have never had to concern myself - I have a tremendously itchy spot in the very middle of the ball of my right foot. Jo has been rubbing anti-fungal cream into her feet, toes, I dunno, on and off for half a year now, but her feet look fine, no scaling or redness or anything. I wear nothing but sandals all summer, so I don't really think that I have athlete's foot, so I'm suspecting a wart. The only thing I could find about warts in pregnancy is that, like moles and skin tags, they can grow more rapidly and sometimes just go away after pregnancy. Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with this?
I swear, there is a mosquito in this room, but for some reason, it doesn't seem interested in biting me. I can't find it on any of the walls. Grr.
Anyway, guess I could try sleeping again. Sprout seems to have gone back to sleep.
Night night, jen.

Hola!
Anna, sounds like things will work out just fine, you are entitled to a little freak out on such a big change, but you will find the best path for your family and be happy with it.
Had a mw appt yesterday, gained 3cm and 2.5 pounds in two weeks. All looks good, babe is still head down, nothing to worry about, yay!
OK, outta time so soon, will check in soon. Mom coming tomorrow night and shower Saturday, I'll be even busier! Have great days!

Hey Ya'll!
I must say, my tummy is getting D@#% Big! I must be having a growth spurt, cause all the sudden I can hardly believe how big my tum tum is! and there is still about 2 months to go!!!! Holy $&*! I still feel great, but I shock myself these days.
Jen the aquasize class sounds like fun, I'm hoping to get to the pool tonight after work. We'll see if I whimp on the follow-through....
Savannah i am so glad those babies are co-operating with you and keeping those noggins down! That's great! I know that this is extra challenging for you and I sympathize with your situation. I'm super grateful that this kid seems to be consistently head down. I have a little chant I do. While touching my own body I tell the baby "Let your head rest down here, keep those elbows tucked in, Back to belly..." and then I tap my fingers against my skin, up above my belly button and say "Little kick kick kickers up here!" It's kind of my little mantra... and it's fun to do!
MamaAcorn I'm glad you are feeling better, keep taking good care of yourself and enjoying time with the little one. Sounds delicious!
blipla, how did your appointment go?? i hope you had a nice afternoon with your hubby. I find swimming to be the most appealing exersize for me right now. I don't go as often as I mean to, but really enjoy it when I do go! (We are talking about dropping our membership and simply paying per visit, cause we haven't been getting our "money's worth" lately)
I have been thinking more about my birth support team lately and realizing i need to finalize the travel plans, etc. I'm not sure if my sister will still be able to attend... she's expecting her third child in February and is currently sacked out on my mom's sofa... In Montana!!! I know child care will be an issue for her, and while I am willing to have the toddler (under 2) be there, i really don't want to deal with my 4 year old nephew while in labor!!!! My sister is a chiropractor and an excellent photographer, so i really want those skills at the birth! I also intend to have my mother there and we need to make arrangements for when she is flying in from Montana.... I am planning a Blessing Way in early Sept... perhaps Labor Day weekend! I want Mom there for the Blessing Way! But, I don't want to wait too long to have the Blessing and have the baby come! i'm not due till the 12th... but who knows WHEN this kid will come???? anyway, i guess I need to make some phone calls!
Woke at 4:30 this morn and never REALLY went back to sleep, dozed a little but Jerome's alarm started going off around 5:30, which he proceeded to press snooze on for over a half an hour!! GRRRRrrr! I think I slept a little bit longer, but then my alarm went off at 6:30! So, I'm running with less sleep than I usually get, but I guess I should just be grateful that I usually sleep well!
well.... i got stuff to do.
Later!

Hey mamas!
Our meeting with the midwives went very well. We talked for nearly 2 1/2 hours. I'll be working with a midwife (Lisa) who hasn't quite completed her licensing and still must be overseen by her supervising midwife (Charlie) so both will be at all prenatals and the birth. We liked them both. I need to go back to my CNM practice once more to have a urine culture for GBS done and then I will tell them I'm transferring care and get my records from them.
I went with a friend to a sprinkler park with the kids this morning and had much fun. We went early before it got to hot. Now my boy is napping and once I told the girls there was no chance they were going to watch TV or play computer games this afternoon they went and found something else to play. I'm going to go put my feet up and knit.
About the warts-I had plantar warts on my feet in my teen years and I don't remember them itching-they hurt, but I don't remember itching. Did you get stung or poked by an irritating pricker?
We may need to take my Bo (2 1/2) to the doctor tomorrow. He's had diarrhea all week. I've been feeding him yogurt and bananas and it seems to be getting worse not better. In fact, it's been going on off and on all summer and I am wondering if he's getting a bug from all the pool water he swallows when swimming. He tends to normally lean toward being constipated so this unusual. Any insights?
I'm flying to Mississipi on Friday and will be back Monday. It's a solo trip to see my grandfather who is dying and to help out however I can with taking care of things at the house. I'll get to see my grandmother and my mom, brother, sister, aunt and uncle so it's not all bad. But I'm going to miss my kiddos!

Had another appointment yesterday. BP is great, weight is fine (total of 48 pounds so far :W :W), measuring right where I should be and everything else is fine. Basically... I'm boring. :LOL My OB was like but that's a good thing, I like cases like this. ;)
I'm so upset. I got my bead from Sheryl/Adventuregirl... there was a small tear in the back of the envelope (where it caught on something) and the baggie inside was shreaded... the bead is gone. :bawl :bawl She wrote on it Hand cancel and THEY DIDN'T!! I hate the USPS sometimes. :(
Luckily I haven't been having any weird or vivid dreams in a while. I had a TON of really weird ones around the 20 weeks mark. Some of them full on nightmares. :eek :eek I know I'm dreaming a lot but nothing really interesting or memoriable. :LOL
Anna- I think it's part of the male genetic code to "dither and dather and struggle to make up his mind". Mine is the same way, drives me up the wall sometimes. It's like, okay we are on game plan 12 version... what is it 47 now?? :LOL :LOL I love that he's a "dreamer and plotter" but sometimes it's exhausting. :)
Sorry Jen no idea about the warts or foot itch.
Blipla- I'm so sorry to hear about your grandfather. :(
Just a quick check in, hopefully I'll be able to post again later tonight. :)

That sounds like a good possibility. There was a big article about all of the bugs in pools in Parents magazine (yes, it's true... we have a subscription to Parents. But it was free! :hide: ) this month. My homeopathy book suggests phosphoric acid for summer diarrhea. The homeopath at my school says that the simplest way to get a kid their phosphoric acid is to give them a half a glass of coke. Yes, this came from a total anti-sugar mom, too. But I'm with you, I'm guessing it's something he picked up in the pool, esp if there are a lot of kids swimming in it.

Not much interesting for me to report ... I have an ultrasound tomorrow, though, so I'll get a peek at the wild boy. I'm pretty sure he's head-down, from what Jen (?) described. Plus I've got what, really, could only be a foot practically coming OUT of my abdomen. Lively thing! My OB says I'm the perfect pregnant woman, too -- boring, no BP, weight, etc., issues. Heather-a massage, how nice!
I had a mw appointment today, and like the rest, I'm doing just fine. Everything is great, baby is head down. I was really happy to hear that my hemoglobin level is just fine. I was afraid that I might be borderline anemic like usual. So I'm really happy that I'm not. :banana
I'm feeling big and the heat is so uncomfortable at times.
Last week I had 2 teeth extracted. They had been hurting me for about a month. It's such a relief to be out of pain. (One was a wisdom tooth, the other a bottom molar-I'm upset about that one, but it had been fixed so many times, there wasn't that much choice, it was badly infected and antibiotics didn't help.)
Speaking of dental work, some may remember my worry about my dd's need for work done under general anesthetic. Well, her surgery is scheduled for Monday morning. I'm still worried, but because of my recent tooth problems, it helps me to realize that it is necessary for this to happen and I just want to be on the other side of it.

Blipla, I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather. I'm glad you're able to go be with him and your family.
Had a fun birthday weekend. Dh and I went hiking on my birthday, Sunday, and wow, I definitely took it MUCH slower on the incline! He also made me a couple of yummy meals and we just hung out together.
Went to the midwife yesterday. Everything looks/is great-well except that I'm borderline anemic. Which I should have figured because I don't think I've been getting enough iron lately-especially during our trip-and, I've been super tired.

I didn't win my swimsuit on eBay :crying someone outbid me late in the auction by 50 cents. Silly me for taking a nap...
Went to my mom's tonight and had strawberry shortcake. She gave me some clothes that my cousin picked up for me at a garage sale - a bib, a nice cotton onesie, a hooded blankie/towel, and a - a Minnesota Wild creeper. The Wild is our state hockey team. :irked: oh well, what can you do about gifts.
The grout is sealed in the bathroom now and we tried to put in the over-the-toilet storage thing only to find that our new throne of a loo is too tall and right now the storage unit is balanced on top of the lid. Can't anything in this house ever work right on the first try?
As you can see my mood isn't the best so maybe I should just go to bed. At least I finished knitting my mom's other sock. I gave her the first one for Christmas. Now all I have going is a baby hat.
night.

Hello ladies! I posted on the "intros" thread but hadn't had a chance to post on this one yet. :) I'm trying to find the time to read all the forums on MDC that I want, yet still keep up with the boards elsewhere that I've been committed to for a good while. Oh, yeah, and I should still see my family once in a while, too. ;)
To intro again, I'm Heather (and not the first, I see!), 23yo and married to DH Jeremey (who turned 32 yesterday!) for 5 years on the 24th of this month. We have one wonderful DS, Gabriel, who will be exactly 2.5yo when the new baby arrives in September (due 09/09, but we'll see!). We are planning a homebirth (HBAC) and are very excited about the upcoming birth. I think my DS is as excited as I am!
We've always been pretty AP (before I knew what the term meant!), and are planning to go even further from mainstream by CDing this baby. I am getting totally addicted already, and probably spend more time thinking about what diapers I need to buy for this baby than anything. :LOL I'm just glad my DH is on board and doesn't think of buying cute diapers as "frivolous." :D
We're planning a home birth and have a great midwife who comes to our home for visits. SO nice, especially since the first one we were seeing is 45 minutes away! Anyway, she came last Friday and everything looks good. Is anyone else measuring big? At 28wks she measured for the first time because I told her I felt the baby very high already, and I was 35cm! On Friday, at 31 weeks, I measured 37cm (so just 2 more than 3 weeks earlier). Anyway, she's not worried about it, but I do think it's funny that still everyone tells me I don't look that pg! Not sure if that's good or bad.
Next week we're heading out of town to celebrate our 5th anniversary (and get a bit of a recharge before baby #2 comes!), and I'm really looking forward to it! This month is just flying by and it'll be August before we know it! I told DH today, "Do you realize we could have a baby in 4 weeks?" That got his attention! :bigeyes
Well, I hope everyone is doing well and look forward to getting to know you all! :)

Good morning all!
I was getting a bit frustrated with DH yesterday. DH suggested for our 5th anniversary present to each other that we hiring a moving company. We’re moving 15 minutes away, have very little money to spare, and most of our furniture is junk. Talk about a romantic idea! Usually, DH is so good about the romance thing, but not this time! Then he complains all day about his back hurting and even takes off early from work. The thing is that he didn’t do anything over the past couple of days to hurt himself. I just get so frustrated with him whenever he has any ache or pain; he makes such a big deal out of it. Men can be such babies!
Anna, I can totally relate to all of your stress about change and with what you’re going through. My DH is starting his last year of law school next month, and there’s always something waiting to throw us for a loop, usually loan/money related. Good luck with whatever you guys decide!
Savanna, what great news that both babies are cooperating!
Bipla, Glad your appointment went well. I hope your little one is feeling better soon. I read the same article in that magazine about all the stuff in public pools; that may be the culprit. Sorry to hear about your grandpa.
Samantha, Glad to hear about your good appointment. Sorry about your missing bead in the mail. I’ve been hearing so many horror stories about the USPS lately. Yikes!
Ellen, Good luck with the ultrasound today. Sending head-down vibes your way!
Heather, Oh a massage! That sounds so heavenly right now! DH gave me a gift certificate for a massage with first pregnancy for Valentine’s Day, and it was wonderful! I’m very envious!
Jen, sorry that you didn’t get the swimsuit. You probably needed the nap more than the swim suit anyway!
Geenbeing, I’m borderline anemic too and can relate to being tired. Glad your appointment went well otherwise.
HeatherB, I’m going through the same thing with CDing this baby (he’ll also be my first in cloth). I think that I’m spending too much time on the diapering boards. I don’t think that I’ll ever have enough diapers.
Well, I better get some breakfast in my belly and take a shower before today’s craziness begins. Have a great day ladies!

Hi ladies!! Good to hear the other good baby/belly reports! And all the other fun stuff-envious of the massage!! Been thinking of talking dh into letting me splurge on massage or pedicure since getting to my feet is tough and they are tired at the end of the day sometimes. I think an all over body massage would be heavenly!!
I had OB appt on Tuesday at 30w1d. I took the GD test and had an ultrasound to check if my placenta had moved up from the cervix. It did move out of the way so that was great news!! Baby is head down, and looked ADORABLE!! Cervix still long and closed (trouble with preterm labor in the past) weight, blood pressure, urine, and baby all look great. It really was an wonderful visit and a lot off my mind.
Then I fell down the stairs yesterday!! :yikes: I am hurting all over pretty bad, but as long as baby stays put, I will hadle the discomfort. Had some contractions last night, but hoping that with a good nights rest last night that today will be fine. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers!! Thanks!
Meeting with my back up doula today, as my primary doula will be going out of town for two weeks and we don't want to be left high and dry. She sounds wonderful on the phone.
Have a great day everyone!

Oh, runningmommy, I'm sorry to hear that you fell, good healing!!
I have spent the entire morning reading "So That's What They're For!" - a book about breastfeeding that is a delightful mix of humor and very thorough coverage of the subject. It might qualify as the only book that's been lent to me so far that I have enjoyed (and not thrown across the room). I definitely recommend it to anyone who's interested in some good reading on the subject.
I'm supposed to go have ice cream with an MDC mom with whom I've been e-mailing back and forth, but part of me really doesn't feel like it *at all*. Just a really lazy thing today!

Welcome, HeatherB!
Jen-
You need a good sniping program to snag those eBay items!
Are you going to the MamaGathering? I will for sure be at the potluck Friday night in Loring Park, sans kids! It would be great to meet you!
Runningmama-
OUCH! Hope your bod is healing well!
MamaAcorn-
My husband is very non-romantic, too.
I have to give birth to get flowers. This time I'm hoping for diamond stud earrings....I deserve a bauble, dammit!
Greetings to everyone else!
I was 33 weeks yesterday!
Wheeeee!
My back hurts. I can't seem to muster the strength to clean my kitchen floor or bathrooms, and I am having a mama from NY who I've never met come stay at my house this weekend for the MamaGathering, and I refuse to let her use a dirty bathroom or kitchen!
I would hire a cleaner for the day, but can't afford to right now.
And my husband would just not do a good job.
Ugh.
Finn is hiccupping on my cervix as we speak!

Runningmommy, I hope you're doing better today. Hopefully, rest did the trick. Oh, and, that's great news about your placenta!

This weekend is my wedding anniversary and I would be more than happy if we hired a cleaning person as our gift to one another, however non-romantic that may be. I am too tired to even think about cleaning! But, having said that, I went to leave the house at 6:30 this morning for my swim and it was pouring down rain, so I turned around and yelled at dh - "I guess we're cleaning the house now." It went really well and we were done in about an hour. Nothing like finding some unexpected time and just jumping in and doing it. We are having people over tonight, so there was that motivation too.
All of you thinking of getting massages or pedicures - I highly recommend both! I felt soooo good after mine. As soon as I have my refund back from my last massage I am going to book another. I'm 98% sure it's covered by our insurance, but until I see the money I don't want to spend more.
Welcome new HeatherB. :)
Runningmommy, so sorry to hear about your fall. Hope you heal fast.
Jenn, I thought of you last night, as my foot was itching. It was one of those pleasure and pain spots where it hurt to scratch but was somehow also so good! Luckily it went away quickly. I hope yours is better.
I just got back from a mw appt. I got to hear the heartbeat. She had a fetoscope that was really long, so she just handed it to me and it was so nice. :) Baby is in a good position and seems to be staying there...he/she's been that way for a month now. Please stay there.
Getting so close now. I am so excited to meet my baby. Did I tell you I held my best friend's newborn last week. Yummy! She was so sweet and cuddly and weee.
My DH told me a funny story, yesterday at work he asked a co-worker how they were doing with cloth diapers and the guys said they went right to disposables cause it was going to be so inconvient having to change them all the time! That's not so funny, it was dh's reaction. He said oh yeah, cause it's better to let them sit around in their own poo and pee till it's conveniant to change them. (Sorry to any of you who are using disposables, nothing against your choice, but I'm sure it's a little more thought out than that.) Anyway, I was just really proud of him cause he is really committed to the choices we are making and it makes me feel very confident about things. Aside from meeting our baby, I am really looking forward to seeing him as a daddy. He's going to be great!
Hugs to you all,
Julia

Covered by insurance!
We are living 6 hours too far south!! :LOL
Did you all know that in Germany, if your doctor finds that you are too stressed out, s/he can prescribe you a 1-2 week stay at a spa, your insurance will cover it and your employer is required to give you paid time off work?!
Sigh!

I KNEW I should've moved to Europe for this pregnancy! I'm thinking Germany for prenatal period, and perhaps the Netherlands for the birth? :LOL
All this talk of massage is sounding so nice! I keep telling DH that he needs to get me a massage while we're on our vacation - I hope he'll listen! There's a great spa here with a water table for maternity massages and I've been telling him since before I was pg that I had to go there. Nothing yet, but I can keep dreaming. ;)

Some areas of Europe are awesome, some not so great... I wouldn't want to be giving birth in France, for instance, as they frown mightily on unassisted birth! (It's illegal.)

Welcome, HeatherB--I was a HeatherB before I got married. Congrats on your HBAC plans. I'm sure everything will be wonderful.
runningmommy--sorry to hear about your fall, but very good news about the placenta!
Jen--sorry you missed out on the bathing suit and that your toilet caddy thing didn't work out. And I hear you on the cranky mood thing!
Okay, now I really want a massage. There's a women's wellness center in the town next to us that does all kinds of natural therapies on a sliding scale basis, including massage. I haven't been there, but I think I'll check it out
I had my week 30 appointment yesterday, and everything was fine and dandy. My labs from a couple weeks ago--glucose and iron levels--were all perfect, measurements are perfect, everything is fine. I've gained about 27 lbs. Now I'm on to biweekly appointments. DD arrived at 36 weeks, and it's both exciting and freaks me out a wee bit that this one could arrive in 6 weeks, although I'd really, really like to go at least to 37. I'd better order diapers and start buying birth supplies pretty soon, though!
I can't wait to start hearing Sept. birth announcements--won't be long for some of us!

Ugh! I had a nice long post that I had been adding too... and its gone now. :bang :bang Let's see if I can remember what I had in it.
Hi HeatherB. :w Glad you've joined us over here in the chatty thread. :) We have GOT to get together sometime, we are way too close not to. I'm just up the road in Meyerland/Westbury (think I-90 on the other side near 6-10). Where is that SPA in Sugar Land that has a water table for maternity massage?? I might have to *hint, hint* to David... our 10th anniversary is coming up on the 30th...
Runningmommy- Yeah about your placenta moving out of the way. I know that's a nice relief! One less thing to stress about. Hope you are feeling better after the fall. I did a total "yard sale" onto my back in the kitchen floor when I was pregnant with Jack. Luckily Tori was taking a nap, I was able to just lay there on the floor for about 20 minutes letting my bones knit back together. ;) Try a warm shower to help ease the soreness. Rice packs heated are also very nice on the owie spots.
Julia- glad your appointment went well and you were able to hear the heartbeat. That is the most awesome sound... to hear that wee one that's growing inside you. :love :love I know it was amazing to watch David become the "Daddy" I knew he could be. Too watch him with the kids, so gentle and nurturing, my heart just overflows... until he chucks them squealling into the air and my heart stops beating. :LOL :LOL He was so sweet right after Tori was born. He was standing next to me with slight tears in his eyes and while looking down at Tori curled across my chest nursing, he just quietly said, "thank you" to me. :love :love And that is too funny what your DH said in reply to using disposibles. :LOL :LOL
3boobykins- glad that everything is fine and dandy. Isn't it great to be so "boring". :D
Pam- don't you just love a "romantic" guy. :eyesroll Sometimes they do great... then others. :duh :duh Hope he comes up with something a little more romantic than movers. :)
Meredith- glad to hear that your birthday weekend was nice. I miss going hiking with DH. We haven't gone in years. Ugh on being anemic! Eat some liver or spinach! I know neither sounds that appetizing but they'll help.
Ellen can't wait to hear that you got to see a good peek at the wild boy and he's in good position. :thumb
It's offical... we now have a BEN AND JERRY'S SCOOP SHOP here in Houston. We were running some errands today and suddenly there it was!! We of course had to turn around and stop in. I can see that this is going to be dangerous to my weight gain. :LOL I just wished they still made Rainforest Crunch... that was one of my favorites.

oh my... my feet. We went to IKEA tonight, brand new IKEA store :bgbounce and it was packed. We had swedish meatballs and boiled potatoes and lingonberries for dinner at the IKEA cafeteria. We found our shower curtain and a great new comforter cover and we got lots of ideas for child's stuff. They had a children's comforter cover/sheet set with HEDGEHOGS ON IT!!!!! We had to wait 40 minutes to check out, but it was fun to go. I look forward to going when there are fewer people there though!

Wow, lots to respond to, but I can't now. Waaah.
Hey, I hope everyone's OK; there are only 8 people with their bead descriptions going on the Thank You thread, even though there were 15 of us on the swap... Surely the beads are arriving by now??
Sorry to hear you aren't feeling well, Caroline, that really stinks. Healing vibes to you, and to RunningMommy (were you running at the time, hee hee?). Glad to hear about the placenta moving.
OK, I really must go... Much love to all you wonderful ladies,

I'm still here!!
Welcome to all the new Sept mamas who have joined in!
I am still going in for weekly NST to my backup ob. Little baby is doing pretty well considering her low fluid environment (although it is getting better every week). She is breech though. Her feet are up in front of her face. It is so cute! As long as she is doing well we are planning on a home birth. If she is breech we have a backup midwife that is very experienced in vag breech (it is the midwife that trained me and my sis). I am having a hard time visualizing birth though. With my 4 other births I could visualize birth very easily. This pg has been SO different though so I will just follow baby's lead. I will be 33 weeks tomorrow! Depending on how long this little one needs to gestate it could be 4-8 more weeks (my shortest pg was 37 weeks and my longest was 41.5 weeks). I sewed a nightgown and long sleeve snap front shirt/pants set today. They are so cute and tiny, I can hardly wait to put them on her! I need to go over to my cousins and use her serger to finish some dipes I started. I made a dozen tracing a sugarplumbaby newborn diaper. They are the perfect dipe for a newborn. I am hoping to be able to order some more (it is a lot of work sewing diapers!!). I would rather sew clothes. I am loving my birth ball again! It is the only seat in front of my desk.
I can't remember who was asking about diaper washing routines. I wash every other day when I have one in dipes (every day when I have 2 in dipes). I do a hot/cold wash with a scoop of Costco brand laundry powder. Then an extra hot/cold with 1/2 C. baking soda if they still smell. If they don't smell I do an extra cold rinse and then dry them. I don't dunk my diapers in the toilet. I am too lazy. I love cloth diapering. I have had at least one in cloth since 3/96.
I am trying to talk dh into going camping (cheater camping anyway taking our travel trailer instead of the tipi) this weekend. I need to get away from the heat 102-4 this last week. I am tired of being stuck in the house because it is 94 by 10am!!
Have a GREAT weekend everyone!!

Thanks to all for the welcome... I will have to work on catching up with what's going on here. :)
mum2tori - We definitely need to get together sometime! I posted over on the Houston thread but I don't guess there's much activity there right now. Anyhow, the spa I was referring to is at the Garden Spa at the Memorial Hermann/HBU Wellness Center, next to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital. I did physical therapy there for a while and took a tour of the spa. Couldn't wait to get pg after I saw that table! :D They are also building a new gigantic fitness/health center here in Sugar Land on Hwy 6 - I'd guess they'll have a spa, too, but probably not before September. Was the Ben and Jerry's in the Village? I saw one there a week or so ago! Unfortunately, I'm supposed to be avoiding sugar. :( But they're opening one in the new Sugar Land Town Square, too! I can tell ya where I'll be after this baby is born! :D
JenInMpls - Isn't IKEA great?! I haven't been to ours in so long - it always kills my feet, even if I'm not pg! I always find tons of great stuff there. Ooh, in fact, I'll have to go soon because my mom wants a cupboard from there for her birthday. Woohoo! An excuse to go! :D Glad you enjoyed it and found good stuff!
Have a great night, everyone!

I've heard they're building an Ikea in Phoenix (about an hour south of us, and our families mostly live there). I hope it's true! I especially like their accessories and fabrics. Hedgehogs! That sounds so cute! Those Swedish meatballs sound yummy, Jen.
Sarahb--We went camping last weekend and had a great time--the kids (ours and thier cousin, 2.5) got filthy and exhausted, and so did all the grown ups. The only part that wasn't fun was the sleeping part. We were about an hour north in Flagstaff, at 8500 ft. elevation. We didn't bring enough blankets for dh and I, and it was in the 40's and I froze all night, had to pee 3 times, and it took forever to get back to really, really cold from downright freezing every time I came back in the tent. "Cheating' with a tent trailer sounds great to me! We'd really like to get one of those some day. I hope you can talk your dh into it!

Hey all!
Doopey sleepy mama signing in....
Stayed home sick yesterday, had gut wrenching diarea in the morning and decided that an hour long bus ride sounded like a REALLY bad idea! Felt really guilty about staying home,... I'm almost out of sick leave at work. BUT, what else could I do??? I must have needed the rest cause I slept for 4 hours in the afternoon!
We are going to take a quickie trip up to Eau Claire this weekend, we bought paint last night and are hoping to get the walls and ceiling done in our new bedroom, on Saturday morning. (Remodeling project at the farm) Boy, paint is expensive! We spent over a 100 dollars so far! and all we are doing is a simple cosmetic fix up... not addressing any of the structural needs! Yikes! are we crazy to want to buy this farmhouse from my dad????
Jerome is still dithering about his decision to postpone student teaching, but I haven't seen him do one productive thing twords making student teaching happen this fall... so I suspect the decision will by default end up being to wait a year. He seems to be more excited about the baby and moving to the farm as soon as possible. I keep reasurring him that he WILL get to finish his education and become a teacher. I mean really, i have been working a job i detest for 2 years in order for him to get this education.... i'm not about to let him off the hook, on finishing it!!!! Oh well, he has to make a decision by monday... his job wants a letter of intent by then. So it will all work itself out over the weekend. Keep your fingers crossed for me! I really want him to be able to spend quality and quantity time with me and the baby in the first few months!!
By the Way... my boss is grumpy old fart!!!! silly freakishly organized former marine! Seriously, the man is driving me batty!!! He's not mean or anything, just obsessive compulsive and freakishly twitchy about stuff. since I was not here yesterday he noticed a few things for me to do... wrote this big note about it and mentioned everything on the list when he saw me. It took me less than an hour to do everything on the list and more.... i know what needs to be done... seriously man, chill out!!!!
I should go do some stuff before he gets back, later!

I was swimming, which sprout really likes cos s/he sleeps all through it and cursing about my swimsuit which was showing me off to everyone in the pool again (which amounted to a 70+ year old guy in the lane next to mine, but still), and now that I have had lunch, the cats have been fed and sprout has mostly settled down again, I am going to go run some errands - hopefully I will find some sort of swimsuit at the Lands' End outlet, but I'm not holding my breath. Well, in a way I am, because I swam and now I reek like chlorine, so I'm going to see if I can find any ultraswim products, too. As Jo's aunt Connie would say, time to go tarryhooting!

I wish I could get to the pool this summer, as I had envisioned!!! Darn it. It's so hot and muggy, I just want to hide in the air conditioned house all day. Also, I've been tired enough to HAVE to have a nap in the afternoon, and I can't seem to be up and about for more than 1 or 2 hours without needing to sit and rest... So that each day I end up with time to do one main thing, like either I go to the doctor or I do some housework or I go to work. Grrrrr. I'm quickly ditching work (only going in occasionally now, for 2 hours), and hopefully now that I've picked a doctor those appointments will be limited to once a week at the most.
But the house is a wreck!!! How to fit it all in??? (Heaven forbid I have to restrict myself from these boards...) I'm hoping to be able to get to the pool at least once or twice a week now, so Nicolas can practice his swimming. We'll probably have to start all over now!
I finally just finished writing my "Ideal Twin Birth" story. It's more of a tool for my prayers, as well as for my birth team to get the gyst of my ideal. Not really a birth plan. I will make another document that runs down the "if this, then that"s. I wish I knew how to link a copy here. Maybe if you want to read it you can email me.

Hey, sorry about startling some of you with my "unassisted twin birth" thread on the preggie forum, hee hee. But look, it got 261 views as of tonight! ;)
OK, I'm starting to be intrigued by the idea of cloth diapering and spent nearly the whole day today (and much of last night) exploring the diaper forum and following links to fluffy sites. Very interesting.... I do want to stay cheap and basic, though, and simple. Especially with two! I'll try to find the thread someone started on here and see what suggestions you ladies have, but feel free to throw in some here, too! The options are just overwhelming to me...

Hi all!
I'm back from my weekend at the convention. I entered 5 plants and brought home 5 ribbons, so not too shabby. Two blue (1st place) two red (2nd) and one yellow (3rd). It was fabulous, but exhausting. The hotel bed was horrible and I hardly slept. It was so nice to get back to my own bed at home, and of course, to get back to the kids.
Isabelle somehow (I have NO idea how!) got the impression that if I won, the prize was gumballs. ?!?!?! So on each call home, she asked about gumballs, and if I'd won any. I had to stop on the way home to get gumballs for her. LOL!
The drive was over three hours to get there, due to bad weather, and about 2.5 hours home again, and boy, do I not want to spend that much time driving again while pregnant. I got so incredibly uncomfortable, the last hour or so was torture.

Well, here I am...contractions have started big time. I have had 4 in the last 40 minutes, but they are not regular or anything. And they feel funny..for those moms who have already given birth, they are not the whole uterus squezzing type, but more really sharp across the bottem and my lower back.
I am drinking water and I thin I am going to go take a bath, if that doesn't work I am off to the midwife...
It is too early...I am only 33 or 34 weeks, so I am praying htis is false labor..I will keep you all updated....

Caroline, I'm crossing my fingers for you.
Well I had another nice weekend -- a friend came to visit and helped me to do some major household projects that I really wanted to get done before the birth. We cleared out a storage room and made it into a communal closet (our house was built with no closets -- weird, huh? Maybe that's when people used wardrobes to store their clothing?) and rearranged a bunch of furniture. One nice result is that now I have space next to the laundry room sink to use just as a changing table. Before we did diaper changes on the bed, so I am happy!

I just want to give myself a pat on the back today.....last night I sat down and folded and put away about 8 loads of clean laundry! WHOOO HOOOO!
That is a major accomplishment for me!
I have no problem washing/drying, but I loathe the folding.
I tackled this while watching the movie "In America". Sweet little movie. I bawled at the end when the dad FINALLY cries for his son.

Caroline, I'm thinking good thoughts and hoping that you're just having Braxton-Hicks contractions/false labor.
We had a busy weekend. We got some moving done, and I almost finished painting the armoire for the boys' room. I'm so excited about his piece of furniture. We got such a great and most unexpected deal on it! I can't wait until I'm completely finished painting it, I can load it up with cute little newborn clothes and baby blankets and such.
DH and I celebrated our five-year wedding anniversary on Saturday. We just treated ourselves to dinner at a nice restaurant. We sat outside and enjoyed each other's company while it rained, very reminenicent of our outdoor weeding five years ago!
DH is home for the day. His back has been bothering him for a week now, and he decided to go the doctor this morning. Luckily, it's just muscular. The doc set him up with some muscle relaxers, and he's out cold on the couch. I sure do wish I could take a nap right about now, but work is calling my name.
Have a good Monday!

Hey ladies!
I had a good but hectic weekend. We drove to Eau Claire Friday evening, making phone calls on the cell phone as we went. We told a bunch of people that we would be at the farm and that they were welcome to come see us, but that we would not / could not / will not go into town itelf to see ANYONE, cause then we try to see EVERYONE! Ironically enough almost everyone came to see us!!!
We had a bonfire Friday night and had about 10 of us around the fire! Every single bed in the house was being used that night! There are 4 double beds, a single and a couch! It was such a fun and lovely night. The stars shone clear and bright, the fire warmed us and fended of the mosquitos. I kept pulling my shirt up and exposing the tummy to the firelight. It just felt so good and my tummy looked so pretty in the firelight... it felt so nice to rub the fire warmed skin.... I guess I was kinda showing off the tum tum! I'll admit it. Everyone was so sweet and loving to me. My feet swelled up really bad and they brought me a dishpan full of cool water to soak them in. I finally made myself go to bed at midnight... didn't want to go, BUT I knew if i didn't I would be yucky the next day!
After cooking breakfast with and for the house full of people we got to work painting the bedroom. I wasn't able to do as much or stay in the room as much as I wanted to. Jerome kept kicking me out! The ceiling is a light minty green and the walls are a peachy / terra cotta shade that turned out looking alot darker on the wall than I expected. It matched the sample just fine... it just was darker than I realized! It gives the room a very cozy warm feeling. Eventually we will paint the trim a darker green and when our floor rug is in there (darker green with peachy flowers around the outside) it will all come together! I'm so excited to move in!!!!!
Speaking of moving in, Jerome finally made an official decision. He will postpone student teaching for about a year! It's funny, now that he has made up his mind i feel guilty and selfish for wanting him to be there for me and the baby.... But really it was his decision and I can see the way it has "freed" him. He was able to be excited about the bedroom at the farm, and take action in positive ways twords making this happen. I think the indecision was paralyzing him. We told alot of people about his / our decision and got some mixed reactions... thankfully his mom was really supportive and positive about his choice. He would have had a hard time dealing with her dissapproval. Generally our family just seems worried about him getting back into it if he steps away for awhile.... I understand that, but feel really committed to seeing him complete his education. I just can't see us wasting the years of work and sacrafice we have put in.... We just need to change the timing so that we are taking on one big huge new thing at a time!
The baby has been really active lately. The long car rides seem to really set him/her off. It was really uncomfortable getting kicked and pushed so much while I was already miserable and achey in the car. 3 hours is a long time in the car! I am looking forward to early August when I will not travel anymore! We have a baby shower this upcoming weekend and a wedding the first weekend in August... that's it! no more!
I can actually see my stomach move around, big weird motions that show on the skin. The other day we identified a hand pushing against my tummy down low. I could account for feet and butt and it was too small to be head. Pretty cool! Hands! wow... my baby has hands that I can see and feel!! Jeepers!
Well i should go... I've written a chapter for a novel here!!! Sorry to be so darn long winded! I'm just excited i guess!
Love to all
Anna Banana
P.S. :hug to Caroline... i'm thinking of you.

Hi chatty mamas!
Tomorrow I will be 33 weeks and for the past 3 days this little guy has been non-stop energy! The more he moves the less I want too.
Tomorrow night we head to Va. to visit my family, celebrate my birthday, and prepare for our move. We have decided to move and the girls and I will go down in late Aug. to stay with my grandmother until our apartment is ready in late Sept. We're hoping dh finds a job this week so he will be able to come with us. If not he will come on his weekends to job search and we will pray the baby comes when Daddy is around.
Anna - I can't imagine how this car ride is going to be! It takes about 6 hours to get home. Of course, I usually sleep in the back of the van for 1/2 the ride. Hopefully it won't be too bad.
Caroline - Thinking positive sticky baby thoughts for you and praying.
Yeah! for all you productive mamas who are folding laundry, painting, organizing, going to competitions and more. You all are my inspiration for getting this move accomplished - Thanks!

Caroline, that sure sounds like labor to me... I'm praying it can be stopped and that baby can stay in there for at least a few more weeks!!!

I am still here...I got in the shower hoping the warm water would calm my uterus down....it didn't work, but something weird happened after I got out. I was getting dressed and figuring as soon as DH came in we would be going to get checked, and I got REALLY tired. I had to lay down. I started pouring sweat, literally, I was soaked. Then I threw up a couple of times...and the cntrx stopped. I have had maybe 2 since. So maybe there was something in my digestive track that didn't agree?? I don't know...weird. I am taking it easy now to see what happens....
Thanks for everyones good thoughts and prayers...
Kabes..good luck with that move!!
Anna...sounds like a BUSY weekend, but productive....
Actually, you all sounded busy this weekend. I was lazy, I lounged all day SUnday, but I did a ton of cleaning Saturday...
Talk to you later,,

Caroline, hoping you're doing well and avoiding labor! Please let us know how you're doing!
MamaAcorn, congrats on 5 years! :champagne My DH and I are celebrating our 5 year anniversary on Saturday. :couple
I have to remember not to stay up all night on the boards, so I can actually get up during the day and post, too. ;) Oh, yeah, and get some other stuff done, too! :LOL Of course, all night this baby was moving a TON! Makes it a little hard to sleep and stay asleep, but it surely is wonderful to feel this little person. :)
I have to go finish packing for our trip. DH and I are leaving early tomorrow to go back to Bar Harbor where we honeymooned 5 years ago. I'm so excited to have some time to just enjoy being together! It'll be a little funny being 33wks pg, but I can't wait. :)
Hope everyone has a great week! I'll check back when we're home.

Wow. First and foremost, love and blessings and stay-put vibes to you and your baby, Caroline! It sure sounds like you could have eaten something funny. I had an evening of gastrointestinal upset one evening last week and it was nightmarish. The pain of my intestines turned into lower back pain, I thought something was seriously wrong, but then after 10 minutes on the pot (if you know what I mean...) I was fine and able to sleep.
We had a slow weekend. I can't even remember what we did on Saturday. I know yesterday we cleaned up the house a bit, I vacuumed all over (I LOVE to vacuum!) and around 5 folks started arriving from camp. Smallest post-camp crowd we've had in years, only 4, one stayed for dinner and then kept on going to home (LaCrosse, WI, about 2.5 hours), one left this morning for a 9:20 flight and the other two, our "college kids", are still here and being amazingly lazy. But they deserve it. It's 90 degrees and humid and they've been working with teenagers in this weather up north. I don't care if they spend the whole day lazing!!
Last night my friend Sasha randomly showed up and handed me a bag full of nursing bras and some nursing clothing. I don't know where she gets the impression that a size small dress is going to fit me but I'm grateful to her nonetheless! She made a hilarious comment: "Where are your boobs? They're supposed to grow!!!" - *shrug* what can I do?! Just wait for my milk to come in, I guess...
Apropos milk coming in, reading "So That's What They're For!" and thinking a lot about nursing prompted me to have my first baby dream of my pregnancy, finally! It was a boy with a head full of black hair (go figure that one out) and he was learning how to nurse. One time I was so tired that he latched on and I fell asleep and I woke up to find that he had fallen out of my arm into the bed, but he was asleep too, so everyone was happy, all around...
Danielle, you and I seriously ought to form a team. I hate going into our basement and loading up the washer, I only marginally dislike hanging clothes on the line, but I LOVE to fold. In fact, I think I will be doing that as soon as I am done here.
Anna, glad that Jerome made a decision and is at peace with it and that you got so much work done on the house. You're so cute with your belly flashing. If I flashed my belly at anyone they'd scream in fright at the stretch marks!
Plantmommy congrats on your ribbons (gumballs?).
Kabes, :birthday: HeatherB and MamaAcorn congrats on your wedding anniversaries... Heather have a fun trip to Bah Hahbah... ;)
no luck on the swimsuit finding expedition *grr* but I did find two new sleeveless shirts and some cute red and white striped onesies that were on clearance. Jo laughed because I bought 3 in different sizes.
Well, I ought to figure out what's for dinner. It's so hot, I'm tempted to say "Don Pablo's!" but we've got two "kids" we have to feed and I don't know that we can be affording that so well about now...

Hey guys,
Caroline, how weird! I'm glad things slowed down after your shower.
My dh did the sweetest thing today. He is not very good at being spontaneously romantic but he's working on it and today he came home at lunch with a little gift for me! It could've been a newspaper for all I cared, it's just so nice to know he's thinking of me when I'm not around. But it was some beautiful silver earrings and a little glass heart! :love Sweetie, sweetie!
On the not so fun side, Noah has pee'ed (peed? pee'd?) on the floor about 3 times today. He has been doing so great wearing underpants and all of the sudden, this! It is so hard to act like it's no big deal when I'm down on the carpet scrubbing out another wet pee spot. Oh well. It'll pass.
Had an appointment with my midwife on Saturday and all is well and baby is head down! I am wondering what this baby is doing in there, it feels like jumping jacks a lot of the time.
Well my boys are home from buying me some loaf pans so I can bake my zucchini bread (with zucchini from my own garden!).
Love to you all,
C

That is the worst stage...my almost three year old is there now. She will do great for a couple of days, and then one day pee all over. And I know, it is frustrating when you are trying to not make a big deal, but to keep getting down and cleaning it.,..ugh. Now add our stupid puppy in the mix....

My three year old was peeing all over the place yesterday too. I wonder if there was something in the aire -lol.
My brother potty trained her on our last trip to Va. He just went and bought her underwear (not training pants) and told her she was big! I'm hoping his influence when we're down there will get her back on the 100% trained path again.

Darn it, I hate it when a post disappears!!!!!!!!!!!!!! To summarize:
Happy anniversaries! Happy birthday! Happy travels! Congrats on champion plants! congrats on house painting and arranging! And on getting the laundry done! Yay to contractions stopping!
Good luck with houseguests. Good luck with moving. Good luck with potty training... Did I get them all? =O)
Hey, guess what, I've actually decided to cloth diaper these little munchkins! I must be a glutton for punishment: homeschooling, breastfeeding two, cloth diapering two, maybe even taking in a day care child...!
32 weeks today, yippee! Happy doc appointments to you ladies. I have one with my doc (yay, I finally have MY DOC, haha) tomorrow.
God bless you,

Good morning!
Caroline, good to hear your contrax stopped after the shower. I'm thinking about you and hoping baby will stay put for a little while longer.
Happy Anniversary MamaAcorn and Heather B.!!!! And Happy Birthday Kabes! (are you a fellow cancer?-my bday was on the 11th)
Speaking of birthdays, are any of you planning on making a birthday cake for your little one on their birth day???? I don't know why, but I keep thinking about this--more so thinking about what kind I want to make. Maybe it's because I'm having a taste for some carrot cake :scratch
Anna, sounds like you had a great weekend! I'm glad to hear Jerome made his decision and it's one you're both happy with.
Baby is wiggling all over the place. I'm thinking he's still changing positions a lot. Sometimes he feels like he's laying across my belly, sometimes on the right, sometimes on the left. When I went to my mw last week she thought he was laying breech, but he moved around so much, she said it was hard to tell. I keep talking to him and asking him to be head down, back to belly-I really don't want to fret about the whole breech thing-that's my number 1 fear and I need to stop thinking about it. Though, I'm thinking for the past four or five days I've been feeling hiccups down near my cervix. so, maybe his head is down there.
Did I already post about this??? pregnancy brain...
Starting on a new sling today, wish me luck!

Hey ladies!
Well it's official now! I actually told my boss that i will not be returning to work after the baby is born. She was really positive about it, supported our decision and thanked me for being up front about my decision. This will allow them to hire a full time employee to replace me, instead of fooling around with a temp. I feel really good about being forthright about my intentions. It helps that my rights under FMLA are identical regarless of my intentions to return to work or not. But it is kinda scary to tell them i'm not coming back.....
Had birthing class again last night, it was interesting working through some fears. Was tired but energized at the end of the evening. Unfortunately it was really hot last night and never really cooled off.
I woke up a few times in the night with my hands numb.... i'm gonna call my chiropractor today and see what he thinks... Also, my midwife will be back in the country in a few days and i am looking forward to seeing her again. Jerome wants to come with and is arranging to leave work early in order to do so. He has been so much more involved since we started the classes.. it's weird, but i'm glad.
Happy birthday's, happy Anniversaries.... Happy mamas!
Love to all, gotta go sort mail... the Marine is looming.....
P.S. check out my signature, it only took me about 7 months to create one!!!!

My daughter is almost three and also went through that "accident" phase. I don't remember the boys doing that. But maybe it's because they were out of diapers so much later than her, so just bypassed that phase entirely. But thankfully we have wood floors, and she seems to be done with it now anyway. Still wearing diapers at night, though, as we don't have a waterproof mattress cover. So did I mention that I made a diaper cover? I'm really happy with it, much more than the ones that I've bought, though it still needs some adjustments. One, I have to find some good elastic (the one I used has already lost its stretchiness) and a snap thingy. Anyone know where to get a good one that's not too expensive?
Well, baby is mellow as ever, but I'm getting consistent movement, so I'm not worried. Heartbeat sounds good, and is still just a couple of inches above my pubic bone, centered. Yay! My blood pressure has gone up a tad (108/62) so I'm happy about that too.

Hi all!
It's been a "busy" last couple of days. Tori went to stay with her Maw-maw (MIL) who lives across town from Sun until this morning. She LOVES to spend time with her Maw-maw. Mary took her to the beach and they played and played. It was really good for her. And quiet around here for us. ;) Jack had a great time with some one-on-one time with Mommy and Daddy. He FINALLY says Mommy!!!!! He said it once when he was about 13 months old, he toddled up to me, laid his head on my knee and said "Mama"... then never again. :duh Everytime I'd say Mommy to him, he'd smile real big but won't say it. He's been saying it all weekend! Makes a mommy's heart swell. He's been saying Daddy for months the little devil. He also did the sweetest thing to day. We were playing (everyone else was taking a nap in the house and he'd decided that 25 minutes was enough :rolleyes) and he climbed up into my lap, I was sitting on the ole birthin' ball. I started lightly bouncing and he just smiled and smiled. When I stopped he reached out his hand, lightly patted my face, smiled so sweetly (as if to say I love you) and leaned forward and gave me a "closed" mouth kiss, then hugged me and laid his head on my shoulder. I was almost in tears. He loves for me to give him kisses but he's never tried to kiss me before. :love :love
He was so happy to have us to himself for two days but he missed Tori too. Early this morning when he got up, David said he was walking around the front room near Tori's door and kept yelling his version of her name. He missed her. They played pretty hard together this morning. Tori took an almost 4 hour nap today (and she napped really well after the beach yesterday apparently too) guess she was tired. :)
Last night I FINALLY got David to take some more belly pictures. We actually had a lot of fun with them. Took some really "artistic" pictures that will only be for us. ;) "You deleted those off the camera right Clark..." ;) I have to get the for public consumption pictures off the laptop and on to my computer so I can post some of them on the yahoo group. Of course David has to switch over my Harddrive first, he's replacing my current totally full 19 gig HD with an 80 gig HD. It's about time! He's been saying he's going to do this for weeks and I've hit critical state on space for the last week. :irked
Radish has been in constant movement. I know its a good thing to have lots of movement but how about a little less at night when I'm trying to sleep?? :) He's definitely changed position because he isn't as low as he was about a week ago. Great he's going in the wrong direction... but at least he isn't currently sitting on my bladder. :thumb
Fun to see IKEA mentioned. Not that long ago we were driving by our IKEA and they had just started building a new larger building next door. I think it was less than 2 months later and we went by again and the orginal building has already been demolished!! WOW that was fast! I need to go in and check out the new building. All the shelving in the kid's bedrooms is IVAR from IKEA. :LOL Great stuff, so versatile and we've had it for 7+ years.
Caroline- I'm so glad to hear that the contrx stopped. It's always a sudden aack when they are totally different from previous B-H and it's too "early".
Kara- :birthday
Happy Anniversary to HeatherB and MamaAcorn. Our 10th :eek anniversary is the 30th. Have no idea what we are going to do... before we had kids we talked about going to Hawaii or Scotland... guess that's not going to happen.
Plantmommy congrats on your ribbons. :LOL about the gumballs... sounds like my DD. :)
Chrissy- That is soo sweet of your DH. It's amazing how thoughtful they can be out of the blue. And I can totally understand the frustration with potty t/ling. Tori goes in her potty seat 99% of the time... we are still working on the pooping though. She went poop in the "Big Potty" at Maw-maw FOUR times over the weekend and then went in her panties today when she got home. :shake And you ask her where do "stinkies" go? "In the potty". (then why do you go in your panties?? :duh :duh) I so regret not encouraging her when she turned 2 and wanted to use the potty seat. The potty seat came in the mail one night, she dragged it into the living room and wanted us to open the box. She knew what
