OK, I'll start it!!!! I actually feel kinda crappy this morning, not usual at all for this preg, but oh well. I have an appointment today, I think I have gained some more weight so that will be good, I get to meet my new dr too.

Hope everyone has a good week!!!

Our house-buying is coming along.
I tried to find my uterus, but I couldn't. I'm at 13 weeks. I don't feel a spot where it goes squishy then hard, but I notice it is definitely harder in the lower part of my abdomen.
Still feeling sick off and on, but it may be getting better.

Hi girls!

Feeling pretty good except the last couple of days. Saturday afternoon I was kind of crampy and sincy yesterday My pubic bone (or right behind it) is kind of achy. Anyone know what this is? No spotting or anything. Do I need to call my OB?

Hope everyone is doing well!

Aloha, checking in....
I have nothing new to say... geesh, I just got a phone call and was trying to give a mom simple directions to a LLL meeting and I got soooo confused and couldn't get all the street names correct :duh I'm usually so sharp-- my dh was in the background laughing....

I taught a childbirth class this weekend with mamas who were at least 30 weeks and above and was feeling so jealous and longing. This part of pregnancy isn't as exciting as theirs-- no one can tell I'm pregnant, but I can certainly feel it.... they are all glowing and get attention, sigh....

Jess, I'm getting lots of crampy pelvic stuff.... I think it's my ligaments stretching-it's been awhile but I seem to remember it happening a lot with my other pregnancies.

hope everyone's feeling well!!!

Karen

I'm also having a bit of mild cramping, but like Karen I think it's just ligament stretching & so I'm not concerned. Actually, when I was pregnant with Tess it was WAY more intense, so I'm feeling lucky!

I'll be 12 weeks this Wednesday, and still can't believe how fast this has been going. We'll be in our "temporary home" city for another month or so, and after that we'll be making our big move. It will be exciting and very strange for us to go South, but I'm really looking forward to getting some of my prenatal care & birth stuff sorted out.

But basically everything is going great. I am ever so thankful for my wonderful Moby wrap ~ boy, does that make carrying an almost-2yr old easy! :)

Slygrrl, we seems to be leading parallel lives. Tomorrow I'll be 12 weeks, too, and we are moving at the end of this month to a 1 bedroom apartment in another city until we close the deal on the house we're buying--back in our regular town. Hopefully it will only be a month. I'm actually holding out hope that we'll be able to get a purchase agreement signed by the end of July, and we'll be able to move into the house and bypass the apartment. I never realized housebuying could be such a nightmare. Our current landlord is being a putz, too. We've lived here for 5 1/2 years (I was pregnant last time we moved! I'm not liking this pattern!) and suddenly the money we paid as last month's rent has become our security deposit. I feel my bp rise when I think about it! Can't say anymore. Serenity!

I'm still trying to decide between 2 midwives. I like them both, and it's really down who lives closer to us, and who I got along with better. I loved them both!
Noticing the clothes are starting to get a little tight, and my maternity clothes, what I have left, are all winter stuff...

My head is swimming!!!! Too much to worry about! Thankfully the morning sickness is gone, and I have a desire to eat healthy food again!

Cheers to everyone!

hello girls,

i had my first prenatal appointment today, i heard the baby's heartbeat. i asked my midwife about doppler and ultrasound safety. she said that was the reason that that was the reason why people shouldn't be renting those and using them so frequently at home and that's why most of her client's only get 1 ultrasound during the whole pregnancy. :)

i gave birth with her just 9 months ago so everyone there was joking around with me "saying back so soon" "we love repeat customers" and stuff like that. :D

my sister is 20 weeks and is also having her baby there, she found out today that she is having a boy...WOO HOO!
I have another sister who is 33 weeks who is also having a boy. I also think that I am having a boy....we'll see. :thumb

we are looking for a house to buy. we found a townhouse and after waiting for the closing for almost two months the deal fell through, it's terrible. :irked: so we are searching again. we are considering a manufactered home, but i feel unsure about it. the houses here in miami are so expensive, it's tough. :eyesroll

well other than that everything is ok. i start working next monday and on sunday i will be meeting a nanny candidate for my kids. :thumb

Can I join you ladies I am now 12 weeks, My name is Kari I have 2 boys Justin is 13 going to be 14 10/3 and Nathan is 2.5 yrs old will be 3 on 11/5. I had a m/c at almost 11 weeks in nov 03 which was really hard on me I had 2 others at 5-6 weeks but those were heart breaking but not like the last one. We have had 2 u/s and all looks good. Then last u/s was cuz the doc couldnt find the heart beat with the dopler thing so I got an u/s cuz of my past m/c, I was so glad to see our little one's beart beating away at 148 bpm. We live out in the country and we love it. The only down fall is the hospital is 30 miles away, but the clinic I go to is only 1 1/2 blocks away. We were informed yesterday that our landlord is going to have a 3 bedroom house avail soon, we live in a 2 bedroom house, so we are going to move if the house looks like what we want. But more then likly we will be moving cuz we need the extra room for my little one he is sharing our room in the crib and needs his own space. Well that is alittle about me.

Hello, week 12!

I'm not usually much of a worrier, but I've been quite anxious about this pregnancy. So I am grateful for every day that passes w/o event. We did hear the heartbeat yesterday, yeah! So I'm starting to believe the baby really exists. Now if only the nausea would go away...

I'm definitely showing, having gained 5 lbs, seemingly all on my belly, but have been hiding under big shirts. A few more weeks and I'll announce to co-workers. I think a few suspect but are too tactful to ask, thank heavens.

Good vibes to all!

Wow ... I'm almost 13 weeks! I can't believe how much quicker this pregnancy is going ... probably because I spend my days with a toddler rather than at work all day! Time flies when you're having fun!

I'm feeling ok ... crampy/uneasy belly feelings but otherwise great. I think I'm consuming too much dairy which is causing some of this discomfort so over the next few days I'm going to play with my diet. I already do several small meals a day and that seems to help a lot. I meet with my OB Mon. and I'm going to talk to her about it.

Please someone tell me they are experiencing this too -- my hormones are raging and I'm very easily annoyed with people. I have friends who check in daily to see how I'm feeling and friends who never ask, and that bugs me! It's not difficult to send an email or make a quick phone call. I guess I'm upset because I make a conscious effort to contact all my pregnant/postpartum friends to see how they are and if they need any help. It's just nice to know people care!

I am very irritable and most of the time in not a very good mood. Dh is my main irritation, which really doesn't help things.

Hi! I am in wk 13 now and am waiting to get some of my energy back. I had a doctor's appointment today and left a little down. I just switched to him and in general I like him. I live in Israel so things work a little differently here. I am hoping for a vbac after 2 c-sections. The first thing most doctors suggest after hearing I had 2 c's is to have an elective c-section. When I told this doctor that I want to have a vbac he was fine with it but he didn't encourage it. I asked him if he suggested a repeat c because it was his personal view or because that was protocol. He told me it was protocol and he has nothing against trying for a vbac but my chances are not very high. It was quite discouraging, but I know most doctors here would not encourage it at all and are against vbacs. I am going to start looking into my options here. The thing is in Israel your OBGYN does not deliver your baby. When you are in labor you go to whichever hospital you decide you want to deliver in and who ever is on staff at the moment delivers your baby. Unless there are complications a midwife delivers your baby. The problem is you never know who your going to get. There is one or two hospitals that you can have a private midwife deliver and a private doctor as well. There is home birth here but I am not a good candidate for HB here.

Anyhow sorry to ramble about this it is just bugging me. Everything else is grand.

Are any of you ladies planning on having an amnio??? (i bet that's a controversial one!!) I am a carrier for a genetic disease so I am having one at week 16 which is pretty soon and am stressing a bit about that.
Any way hope you are all having a good week!

Babytime I'm am a bit irritable but mostly really weepy. Pretty much anything can get me started. My poor dh.

Thanks girls for telling me you're crampy too. My friend flew in a few days ago and said she was much crampier with her second than her first. She say the body's just a lot more efficienct at moving in to place and the muscles suffer.

Dahlia...good luck on your amnio. And keep focusing on your desire for a vbac. Positive thinking is so important.

Maybe they don't want to bug you. I know that, personally, I got quickly tired of all the "how are you feeling today"s. And by the time I was 7 months along with ds I was ready to rip the head off anyone who asked. I'm already tiring of it now at 12 weeks.

Hi All,
I've been feeling pretty good here. In fact, yesterday I actually had enough energy to mow the lawn (a 2 hour venture at least at my house). It's been so long, it seems, since I've had the umph to go outside and enjoy the day. Of course I was completely exhausted by the end of the day, but who cares!

I am incredibly irritable and unfortunately it's mostly centered on my poor 11 year old ds. He's really such a great kid- but maybe we're too much a alike and so he's the focus of my stuff?? I'm feeling so bad about it, and yet I can't seem to stop myself. It doesn't help that he sometimes is going through pre-teen angst kind of stuff.... I'm working on trying to be nicer to him.... Maybe my hormones will start leveling off??? I can hope!

I got to hear the hb today! And yesterday I got my hypnobabies home-study course. My next step is to arrange some meetings with mw's. Because we're moving to a place that's cheaper, I get to have a hb (I hope), though I've been reading about uc lately too, so the mw may not be necessary. I just can't see myself voluntarily going to the hospital, unless something was really wrong.

Okay, this is my third time typing this – hopefully my computer won’t crash again! :irked:

Babytime – I completely understand what you are going through. The littlest things seem to annoy and upset me and I am constantly on the verge of tears. I have been getting more and more frustrated with people to the point where my husband had to take a stand and tell me he couldn’t take the brunt of my frustration anymore. So, yes – there are definitely people in the same boat as you!

Malama- As you can see above, I can relate to your situation. Just know that what you are going through is temporary (and hormone induced!). Just as you have extra patience and understanding for your family, trust that they will have the same for you.

Dahlia- Where do you live in Israel? I have a ton of family in a moshav north of Netanya. Do they allow/have doulas in Israel? A doula might be a great way to ensure continuity of care and help advocate for your birthplan…. Good luck with the amnio!

As for me, things have been going pretty well – not a lot of changes. I am between 15-16 weeks, depending on who you ask. I got really excited a few days ago because I was able to completely brush my teeth without gagging, but it was short-lived. :-( I have also been pretty tired and started getting a lot of sciatic pain (especially at night). OH – and my new craving is NY-style pizza. :love I could eat good pizza all day, every day…..MMMM…. Wonder what the primal need from my body is that would make me crave pizza?

Hope all you mamas are doing well!!

Energy!!!

I just can't beleive how much engery I'm having the past fewdays. I think I have even more now than I did before I got pregnant :twothumbs

Anyone else's toilet habits returning a bit to pre-pg? I've actually had some bm's and I only got up ONCE to pee in the middle of the night :love

Life is great right now. Lets all enjoy while it lasts, since we know what is around the corner, but I'm not going to think about that (it goes straight from this to baby love; it goes straight from this to baby love......)
