Ok, let's lighten things up a bit.
What have you been craving? Is it weird for you to want it? Are you limiting your intake or just eating your desires and waiting for the next craving to take over?
I HATE green olives. I can't ever imagine wanting them, then WHAMMO! I get Pregnant and I can't get enough of those darn things. And it's not just the little ones... oh no! I MUST have the queen olives, and I eat them like crazy. I did discover that they help loads with the nausea.
Also, Iced Tea. I love it, but rarely make it. I have been frequenting my mom's house more than normal just because she has Iced Tea made always (that and DS will play with her and let me sleep a bit).
I do limit my tea a bit, but the olives, I just eat and eat until I don't want another one (usually 3-4 of them at a time).
I had been craving spicy mcchickens from McD's but that has passed. It only lasted 3 days, but I consumed a gross amount of them in those 3 days.
Last time I was PG, all I wanted for months was raw cookie dough, cake batter and brownie batter (I left out the eggs). I craved fast food sweets, but couldn't imagine eating anything healthful. I am sooooo glad that this time, I can eat veggies and fruit and cereal without feeling like :Puke . I HATED meat last time starting around 18 weeks (I think) and this time it started about 1 week after ovulation.
I really hope to avoid the mac n cheese craving this time b/c 1 box a day for 6 weeks probably contributed quite a lot to my 50lb weight gain last time.
So... what about you?

Mmmmmm, iced tea, and lemonade! Oh and red wine. I really miss that. :o
As I mentioned in the weekly thread, I'm consuming freakish amounts of watermelon. Just can't get enough of it. My recent rather odd craving is refried beans with cheese and tobasco. I usually eat black eyed peas pretty frequently, but I haven't wanted those and instead have been making refried beans about every other day. Lately I ask DH every night, "do you want bean dip for dinner?" Poor guy!
That is so weird about the green olives. I hate them too and can't imagine craving them! I have always loved black olives, and have been eating them a lot more frequently too.
And Pringles, dammit. I am still lusting after Pringles!! I finally gave in and bought a tin. I ate about 1/3 of it on the way home from the store. :bag: Now I'm limiting myself to 6-7 at a time. Oh and I bought Spaghetti-Os at the store this weekend. It's a new low, I have to admit. OK, in my own defense, I did get the kind that were fortified with calcium. :D And I ate celery plus peanut butter along with them, so I figure I was still getting some protein in there.
I'm craving pasta like crazy too, so I've been making some along with dinner about 3 times a week. I am definitely giving into starchy cravings much more than I did pre-pregnancy, but shoot, I figure I need a little extra energy. I'm also eating good carbs like strawberries and oatmeal and whole wheat products, and I'm pretty much staying away from refined sugar and sweets; I just haven't been craving much of it. Though I did make chocolate chip cookies for DH tonight just to be sweet. :love I ate one and it left the most terrible taste in my mouth; I had to go brush my teeth right away. So I'll stick to my watermelon. :LOL

I could drink my weight in lemonade and water. During week 6 & 7, I had a tortilla with cheese almost every day. And, I've been giving in more to my ice cream cravings, although I don't know that they are any stronger than normal.
I have had a few pickles straight from the jar. But overall my salt tolerance is lower.
My sushi cravings are strong, but I think that's just withdrawal. On the months that I found out I wasn't pregnant, I would console myself with sushi.

Big, fat crunch kosher dills. Not the Vlaussen brand, but the Ba Tampte brand. Actually they're half sours. My mouth will water at the thought of one so I'll grab one and savor it slowly until I look down after a few seconds and it's gone! I'm literally sneaking pickles since DH complains when I eat a lot of them. I have even bought two jars and brought them to work. They're almost gone.
Fresh fruit. I can't live without fresh fruit and this is the perfect time for it. Peaches, strawberries, nectarines, plums, pears, apples, need I continue??? melons, apricots, mangoes, papaya, mmm....
And I too am having a strange craving for Pringles. That started from day one. Sour cream and onion flavor only. I feel so guilty eating them, but I guess I make up for it with all the fresh fruit I've been eating...lol.
Strangely, I don't even want to think about meat of any kind...even seafood. Just the thought of the smell of seafood makes me retch and the sight of bloody meat is enough to send me running for the grocery store bathroom.

Gummies. I used to eat them before I got more health-conscious, but haven't had them in forever. The other day, I HAD to have gummies. So I ate 5 gummi-savers. Same thing the next day, and the next. Just 5. Moderation. :)
AND Lemonade and sweet tea!!! I stopped both b/c of the sugar, but now I can't get enough! ARGH!
I don't want any meat, ever. Well last night I managed to eat some barbecue but otherwise, I just don't want meat. I picked around it in my spaghetti.
I'm eating pasta daily. It's about the only thing that sounds ok most of the time. I've had lots of fresh fruit too, sometimes with peanut butter for more protein since I am not eating much meat. I need to pick up some nuts for protein too.
I haven't been to the store since I got pg. I reeeeally need to get food! :LOL
Oh I've wanted mac and cheese too but haven't given in yet. It won't be long though...
mmmm, green olives -- hadn't thought of them til now....
mike and ike's ...something like lianne's gummi thing i guess
meat is yucky (but then i'm a vegetarian so it's kind of a question of degree; i almost lost it yesterday when someone stuck a plate of hot, smelly salmon under my nose while showing how lovely it was to someone next to me).
peanut butter absolutely!!!! with cheddar cheese.... :)

Must... make... lemonade, right now!
Do you find that most of your cravings are something you had as a kid? Mine usually are.
I've been wanting chicken pot pie and roast chicken with carrots and potatoes, all baked together with lemon and rosemary....ahhh. But i can't handle raw meat. So my mom cooks it for me - dh is vegetarian. Our household is meat free most of the time, but last pregnancy and this, venison and chicken were suddenly big players for me. The venison is no surprise to me, but I don't like chicken. Except when pregnant or nursing. Must be my default protein choices.
fresh corn tortillas with beans. Mmmmmmm.
I went through a week of being able to eat almost nothing but jarred manderin oranges.
Hardest for me have been aversions - I love love love fruit and fresh veggies, but this time fruit has been iffy for me (UNJUST!) and veggies.... *shudder*
I need creme brulee or flan. Need it, I tell you.
Last pregnancy the only honest-to-god true MUST HAVE NOW craving I got was for fried squirrel. And yes, I ate a lot of that growing up. My dad was sure I really wanted rabbit (since I'd preferred that as a kid) and hunted one of each for me - but I just wanted squirrel. *shrug*
And with all my intense nausea and repeated vomiting - the only thing I've ALWAYS kept down is homemade venison jerky. But I don't have much of it.
Ok, I hope I didn't gross anyone out.

Okay, now this one hit me about two hours ago and it has already been fufilled...Kim Chi.
I had to go and get Korean BBQ with my friend (who's also pg). It was funny they give you this huge spread of different kim chi's and give you your food to cook. Before they even brought out our food to cook we'd finished off the kim chi's. MMM...of course I've also taken two tums now for my heartburn but it was sooooo worth it. Now I'm trying to figure out how to con my anti-oriental food DH to go with me for dinner tonight...lol.

HAMBURGERS, HAMBURGERS, HAMBURGERS!!! This was my biggest craving last time I was pg too.
I have also been gnawing on pretzel rods a lot, and I can't get enough italian food! We also indulge on Taco Bell for some meal every weekend! And I don't know whether it's the heat or laziness, but I HATE cooking lately!

LaSofia!!! Absolutely!! I've been telling people that my cravings are all related to food I ate as a child (and never crave regularly). I'm so glad to hear that from someone else. I'm embarrassed to admit one of my cravings (that I gave into on vacation last week)... Cocoa Puffs. Growing up my mom only bought us nutritional cereals, but every now and then she'd let us have cocoa puffs, and I just couldn't get them out of my mind last week. I'm finding though, that once I give into a craving, I'm over it. I ate cocoa puffs for breakfast for three days, and now I can't even look at them.
I'm usually a very health-conscious eater, but I'm having trouble eating wholesome foods! I used to eat 5-9 servings of fruits and veggies a day -- and now I struggle. I used to LOVE raw red pepper and go through 4-5 a week -- can't eat them now. In fact, all raw veggies make me gag.
I'm feeling a bit guilty that I'm not eating as healthfully now that I'm pregnant, but I'm also finding I can't choke down the "healthy stuff." I just sit there and look at it. Oh well....hopefully it will pass.
BTW, I just heard today that lemonade is very good for m/s -- maybe that's why we're all craving it!
Gotta tell you...pringles sound pretty good right now!

I am loving the Ba Tempe pickles too, and olives, yum.
I have a serious meat aversion, can't stomach any of it, which is really odd, as i used to eat meat every day. It's actually making me feel awful just typing about it.
I am loving all fruit, as usual, and nime chow, yummy. Oh yeah, yoghurt too:)
I miss sushi so badly, I think I could stomach some raw fish, but just don't cook it, the smell is terrible!

Today I had to fulfill my craving for McDonalds filet o fish with no cheese. That is definaltly something from my childhood. I haven't eaten fast food since I was preg with DS. I tried ignoring the craving but it wouldn't go away. I was perterbed by how much smaller it was then I remembered. I also craved Kettle brand sea salt and vinegar chips. YUMMM I had a heck of a lot of heartburn after that one. Pickles and mustard but not together. Pretty much anything tangy. I wanted greek olives the other day. Oh and popcorn cooked in spectrum org shortning(palm oil).
I have more adversions to food then cravings. I don't want to cook. Every night I beg my DH to go out to eat.

I want to eat out constantly too. Hard on a budget and with a toddler. I guess there's more choices, less effort?
I was NOT craving it, but when dh made popcorn for himself, with lots of nutritional yeast and tamari sauce... oohhhh I ate it all up. Poor dh.
Speaking of which, my close friends informed me that when dining with me at restaurants during my last pregnancy, I would sometimes look at/smell my food, check theirs out, and then swap plates without comment. I have no memory of this! You'd think I would have at least asked.
ooh, my grandmother picked a bunch of peaches for us. Ripe, ripe, luscious. mmmmmm.

I went to the grocery store over my lunch hour today. It's nice to avoid the crowds in the evening and on the weekends.
I was able to avoid the California Rolls, which I have binged on in the past. But the quart of chocolate milk got me. Right now I have it at my desk and I'm pouring it over ice, so it's nice and cold. I may finish the whole quart by 5 p.m.

tomato products...like spaghetti sauce and pizza sauce (but not ketchup?!). I've been craving that since about 8 weeks. I have even been dipping potato chips in the spaghetti sauce...yum:) Also, Mexican food. Very spicy (which is so NOT normal for me!) and usually with tomatoes!

Because of my morning sickness I have been eating about a third of what I normally eat for each meal. It leaves me with low energy and feeling tired all day. I have huge cravings, especially for fast food and certain ethic foods, but we can't afford to indulge them, and I know I shouldn't. Two nights ago I was craving breadsticks and marinara sauce, and I'd hardly eaten anything all day. I decided to put a loaf of pilsbury ready to make bread dough in the oven. I ate that whole darn loaf of the bread. I am so ashamed, but my body was so happy to be full for once in probably a month.
