Looking for other AP mamas in Fairbanks

Hello other mama's! I am a "born-again" AP mama! I felt all the correct mothering feelings before, but fell into the mainstream. :duh and am now returning to more applied AP! Anyone have any ideas on reintroducing co-sleeping?? I don't know if my 18 mos. ds will like be able to readjust to a new sleep pattern. :help I would love any suggestions. Thanks :)

I am also interested in chatting with other Fairbanks or NP mamas and knowing that there are other women locally who have similar beliefs as me. :)

If your ds is happy with his current sleeping arrangement, I don't think I'd change it. Their overall happiness is what is most important.

Where abouts in Fairbanks are you? I live off Farmers Loop. I'd love to find other AP mama's in town. I only know a couple of them...

Jumping in here. :) I know the thread is old, but this is close to my heart.

I'm also outside of Fbks, and know IceQueen :wave, and we would both LOVE to meet more AP moms. I already try to attend a mostly-homeschool playgroup (to which IceQueen has come a few times) that is full of very AP mamas. :D If you'd like the info on the next play date (and whether or not Karen or I will be there) I'd be glad to give that to you! :love If you'd like to meet Karen/and/or me to play at a park (once the smoke is gone, I can't go out in this smoke) I am sure we can find a time for that.

(Yes, Karen, I'm just volunteering your sweet self right off the bat. :LOL)

:LOL I was telling one of the Mat-Su LLL leaders that I have a handout on co-sleeping that I got from the API website. I couldn't figure out why she was giving me such a weird look. Then she said "API?" and I told her what I meant, and she told me what she thought I meant. ROFL

By gum, it's all dang relative. I'm down here rubbing elbows with the Mercedes loving Bill Gates crowd and I cannot wait to get on that plane tonight and go home to my Subaru & Kaladi crowd. Finally, a chance to relax in my slow, quiet, lifestyle.

So, yeah, the redlight thing...done the new Roundabouts yet? They're actually okay, but only b/c you can read the signs on the pavement. Come winter when the roads are snowy and the drivers are still idiotic...:yikes:

I was in Anchorage when they opened the one off of.... oh geez... which road was it???? I don't remember the name now. Don't think it was Dowling??? Was it??

I had to laugh, because I'm originally from Los Angeles and have done a tour or two on the traffic circle in Long Beach and I thought to myself "oh boy.... APD is going to be busy once the snow flies :) "

I would really love to meet you both. When is the playgroup? I would love to come. How old are the kids there? Do either one of you know Sonna or Amanda? They are starting a support network called Natural Wisdom. I have been a part of this and we are ALWAYS looking for other like minded mamas. Plus, what a relief to be around other respectful mamas. It's like letting your parenting guard down. It's very nice. :thumb Perhaps you two would like to meet those of us involved with Natural Wisdom? ;) We are all in the Fairbanks vicinity! Let me know!

MamaP can let you know when the playgroups are. (I always ask her, because the location changes every week).

I don't know either of the mama's you mentioned and I've never heard of natural wisdom (although I self admittedly live a pretty sheltered life)

I think it would be great to get together some time. My schedule is pretty open.
