sharp cervix stretching pains?

For the last few weeks I have been getting kind of pains, sharpish, that feel like something is stretching, my cervix I'm guessing ;) , but I didn't feel this with my first. It usually happens when the baby moves its head, which is low in my pelvis, and it causes this pressure sharp pain. I can feel it right through my vagina, sometimes I feel like something is going to break down there... :) Or break through... I am carrying quite low, but I don't know how low the head is. I am assuming it is just stretching muscle, but has anyone else felt something like this? It makes me want to grab myself in fear of something falling out everytime it happens! :D

Hey, I had one of those just tonight! Kindof exciting, isn't it??? Though I have only had one or two other times; so I don't know what to tell you about yours. It will be interesting to see if your cervix is ripening at your next check...

i got that same feeling on and off for months before my little one came. it stopped a few days before she was born, so it was almost like my body was finally saying, "ok, ready now."

fwiw, she was very low ~ head right on my cervix from 35-36 weeks on.

hmmmm, interesting...I'm glad I'm not the only one! I was getting kind of worried there. It's kind of shocking, like someone just jolted you. :) Having that and sciatica at the same time is interesting too... ;)

I get that from about 32 weeks. This week it started being really sharp...I welcome it when it comes!!

It means your body is "gearing" up. Don't fight it. When they start up, I sit with my legs open on an incline...tends to get worse fora minute or two. I have always tried to go with it, and I have nice short "hard" labors...so???

Wow, I 'm glad I saw this. I just started having this about a week ago (I'm 34 weeks). It was only in the evening, but yesterday I had them during the day too. So, I guess it means my body is just getting ready... :)
