Thought it would be fun to have a thread about names that everyone is considering. Our current choices are (nothing to be cast in stone of course!):
girl - Skye Elizabeth
boy - Shane ??
What about everyone else?

We still can't agree on any. Well, we have two tentative names, but I'm not completely sold on the boy name and dh isn't completely convinced about the girl name. All the good names are already taken! He wants Joe (NOT Joseph, just Joe, like his uncle) for a boy and I want Ava for a girl. I imagine those choices will change before February, though. :eyesroll

Love the name Ava that's really pretty!!!!!
Why can't the guys just let us pick the names we like? :LOL Life would be soooo much easier that way!!!

I like Miranda Abigail for a girl and Dominic Gareth for a boy. DH is cool with the girls name, lukewarm on the boys.

Kitty, I love the name Skye and am seriously considering it for a middle name.
I knew a Shane Elliot (always thought that sounded nice.)
I really can't decided on names for either girls or boys -- I'm hoping he/she will tell me in a dream or I'll just know when I see him/her.

Oooooh Shane Elliot - I LIKE that combo! Thanks :) I'm going to run it by DH tonight.
What's funny is last night I was just saying to him "well if we pick a boy's middle name that starts with an "E" we can start getting things monogrammed because boy or girl they have the same initials!!!!!"

Girl - Kimberly Francis
Boy - Scott Francis
I love the girl name, but I can't stand Scott. Scott has absolutely no meaning...it means literally a Scottsman. Umm, I'm not Scottish and neither is DH, but it was his best friend's name and he wants to memorialize him (he killed himself some years ago) so I can't really argue.

girl - Claire Isabella (left over from DS, so that one was easy)
boy - Luke ?? (possible middle name is Adrian, but not for sure.)

So far its Cleatus the Fetus :wink
DH cam up with Anastasia this evening and i have been trying to sell him on Caspian.
I told him I'd really like to choose something from the natural world instead of a "name" name. So far he's shot down Lark, River and Magpie (Maggie)

Well, we found out that it's a girl, and the name is Hazel. If it was a boy, it would have been Jasper Benjamin. The middle name for Hazel will most likely be Iliana or Eliana, or something similar (it has to be Hebrew). We were also considering Taliah. We both really like Adah, but then intials would be HAM, which is awful.

LOL, HAM spelling out a Jewish kid's initials--that's funny! :D
I LOVE the name Hazel! It was one that I suggested to dh, but he hates it. Jasper is pretty great, too. Really lovely names!

We haven't really even started talking about names yet, but reading this thread brought back a memory about the name Francis.
My aunt made this really cool painted birth certificate for my mom when I was born. I remember my mom telling me that the Saint that was watching over me was a woman in my Aunt's mind. She spelled St. Francis Hospital as St. Frances Hospital. Aunt Di isn't Catholic, so she wouldn't have really known the difference, but mom thought it was a cool story. My aunt was obviously really wanted to believe that a woman was watching over me. ;)
Also... I have a cousin named Hunter! He's Hunter James, so, Coopsmama, why not use Hunter for either? And AVA will make it onto my list in both forms... Ava and Eva pronounced the same way.
I LOVE the names Anastasia and Parker! I also met a GORGEOUS little girl named Aubrey this week.
Geez, I can't believe I remembered all those names from your lists. Tee Hee... not so mommy brained today. I will have to go look at the lists again and maybe add some to a list I should start sometime.

Hellokitty~ it is pronounced kinda like kyle but choppy ky--elle I am horrible at the long e long i thing so hope that helps, it really doesn't sound like kyle because it is drawn out. Hope that helps...in Hawaii they prounce it kinda of like keelie but dh doesn't like that. On some baby naming site they have it spelled Kiele and have it spoken and that is how they say it hawaii.

We are considering O names because we have an a, e, and i already.
Right now I like Ophelia Helen for a girl and Othello or Otello something... for a boy.
I had a cousin named Shane. He drives a tank. He is my fav cousin (he is SO COOL!).
Sadkitty, have you thought about looking up natural things in other languages? River in Spanish is Rio, which I think is a very cool name.

We haven't decided on any names yet. I have thought of a few girl names but no boy names.
Rosalind
Anjali
Anya
The only boy name that has come up for us is Aristotle.

I'm convinced this kid is going to be called "Number 2" for the rest of it's life :eyesroll We are having the hardest time with names! We're hoping to find out the sex on Wednesday so maybe we can at least narrow it down. Dh wants Scott for a boy (was our boy name for pg #1) but I'm over that. My ideal would be Ryan Andrew but Dh has vetoed both:( He suggested Alex a while back and I really like it, but now he's not sure. The only girl name that we can even both agree is "ok" is Hannah and neither of us love it. I would LOVE Joanna for a middle name, so if that works, then Hannah is out lol. Joanna would be for DH (Joe), MIL (mn is Jo), and my grandmother whose mn is Joann. My dd is named after my mom, so I love the idea of the next child's name having a special meaning as well.
As it stands, we will have a nameless child lol.

M2C, I love Claire for a girl! I would use it except I have an ex-friend whose daughter is Claire and this woman is the type who would say I stole her daughter's name. Unfortunately she and I still have many people and business contacts in common-I just don't want to fuel her weirdness, but I so love the name. Caleb is still up for a middle name for a boy for us. Likely it will be John Caleb. Originally I wanted to use John Caleb and call our son Caleb, dh thinks it's too common (yeah, there are just NO Johns around....) John is a major family name for my side. It was my Grandfather on my father's side, John is my favorite uncle--who will be extremely honored and John is also my brother.
Girls names we are still so up in the air. Way back during past pregnancies I loved Tanner for a girl. Since then my Grandmother has passed away and I'd like to use her name Joan as a middle name. Steve likes Molly for a first, but I kinda hear banjos when I combine Molly Joan. I like Margaret Joan and we'd likely call her Maggie, I also like Megan Joan. LLM, I love Hannah, have for many years, but in my area it is SOOO common it's not even funny--Hannah is actually more common here than Emma and Emily.

I think we've decided on a name! We found out yesterday that this little one is another girl, so I started browsing name sites last night and we both really like Alyssa Joann. I think I like it more than DH, but he'll get used to it:) I'm amazed...she's not going to be #2 forever!

Hi all,
We're set on names. Lillia Kathryn and James Thomas. James was my MIL's father and Thomas was my mom's dad. Lillia Kathryn just happened. We actually both wanted Kathryn as a first name, but don't really want it shortened, which it inevitably is...so Lillia won first name status. My dh wasn't totally sold on it until I kept repeating it--"Lillia Kathryn, Lillia Kathryn" and I sign notes to him "love, susan and L/J" He's on the bandwagon now! DS wants to call the boy "Jamie" and does an hysterical rendition of the little girl Fiona in the "Secrets of Roan Inish" (movie he likes) hollering for her brother. Boy am I rambling!! If Griffin was a girl, he would have been Anna.
If you like Claire but can't use it, have you thought of Clara? Both pretty names. susan

Dh mentioned Clara, however, I grew up in and still live in farm country. To me, Clara is a cow's name  The first person to attach Bell to it would be punched in the nose.

My Dh decided yesterday he likes Olivio. Is that even a name?
The babynamer tool on oxygen (http://tools.oxygen.com/babynamer/babyblurbs.cfm) didn't come up with a result, and they have many of what I would consider uncommon names. There is Oliver, and Oliviero...

We've had a boy's name picked out since we found out we were expecting again. There is a small sentimental story behind the boy's name and we didn't think we would have a chance to use it since we weren't planning on having any more children. Well surprise...here we are having another one and now if it's a boy we'll get to use it.
Boy: Logan Jared
Girl: CLUELESS :LOL

We were thinking of:
Girl Melisande
Boy Mathieu
But now we know it's a boy from the ultrasound so I guess it's Mathieu! I have to figure out a middle name now--our other two kiddos are Malcolm Riley and Josée Madison.... wonder if Josée will think it's wierd that her name doesn't start with an "m"? Actually we picked out her name when I was pg with Malcolm in case we had a girl --except it was Madison Josée but then we changed the order of the names because we later found out that Madison was SO popular and now I love Josée anyway. I'm wondering though if Mathieu is too popular? I really wanted to have names that weren't really popular--I know the spelling isn't that popular but the name Matthew is don't you think???

Dh is hooked on the name Nigel. His family and I all love the name Wren. I told him we could call our boy Nigel Wren and I would probably end up calling him Wren. Goes with the name Raven don't you think? :)

sadkitty, my daughter's middle name is Wren. I used to call her that when she was a baby, but it got complicated because everyone else called her by her first name. I should have stuck to it because I absolutely love Wren for a boy or a girl.
We just found out we are having a boy and right now I really love Beach. Dh is not thrilled. I wanted to name my first son Ocean, but ended up with Kai (Hawaiian for ocean). Maybe I will look up Beach in other languages.
I think boys' names are way harder than girls!

DH loves the name Ocean for a boy. My first pick for boy is Caleb Miles, but we may come to a compromise with Caleb Ocean. We find out 11 Oct if we're haveing a boy or girl. Can't wait. Still don't really know about girl names. DH likes Rose for a middle name. I don't have ideas on middle names for girl. First pick is Clair though for me. DH don't like it though. We have pretty much stopped our name conversations until we have the u/s. We just have to have a name that goes well with dd name, Chloe Monet.

Gretchen - I told my DH once that if we ever had boy/girl twins, I want to name them Oberon & Ophelia :D I dig Oberon completely - maybe run that by your DH?
So far, it's looking like:
Girl - Carlyn Dawn
Boy - hellifIknow :lol
Seriously, though - it will totally be up in the air until we "meet" the baby, anyhow.
We were just talking about the name Hazel a few minutes ago, and I was saying how I always thought it was a pretty name, but a lot of people still consider it an "old lady" name. He said "all our kids have hazel eyes - it would be appropriate!", and I said that if we ever named a daughter Hazel, she'd be the one to end up with blue eyes. He said "Then we could call her Azure!"
Ooooohhhhhhhhh! Azure Dawn - doesn't that sound heavenly?
