Hi everyone, I am new to this forum. This is my first pregnancy so the symtoms are all new to me. I'm curious if anyone else is experiencing extreme bloating (no cramps) in the Afternoons and Evenings. When I wake up in the morning, my stomach is fine and fairly flat. But usually right after lunch, the bloating would start and this would last all day. It is extremely uncomfortable and it makes me loose my appetite. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do to prevent this?

Btw, the bloating started over a week ago at around 6 weeks. I am now 7 1/2 weeks along.

sounds like pregnancy indigestion to me. i'd get that way with #1 because i was at work and sitting all day. i guess all that sitting scrunched me up and made it harder for me to digest food or something. when i came home in the evening and went for a walk the tummy troubles would disappear. if you're not already, try going for a walk and see if it helps. this is probably too early for you, but once i switched to materinity pants most of my digestion problems stopped (except for heartburn).

thanks for the advice. i think indigestion could be the problem since most of the bloating takes place after i eat. i'll try taking a walk and maybe some Tums to see if it'll help. the bloating is so uncomfortable and my stomach feels huge. it's silly....but i'm almost tempted to go out and buy some maternity pants since i'm so uncomfortable in my regular pants.

thanks again for the advice...

be careful with tums. i believe they contain aluminum. not that it would be listed on the packaging, but aluminum is very good at easing digestive discomfort. it is also very good at building up in the system of you and your baby. aluminum buildup has been shown to be associated with alsheimer's and is just overall not good for you, esp. not your brain. a little bit of tums wont kill but tomorrow, but i would be careful how often and how much.
