Hello everyone....
Just bein miserable here....I've still got morning sickness but that's not the miserable part...I also seem to have bronchitis and possible strep throat, it's really hard to get my kids attention when I have no voice. On the plus side I've started feeling the baby move....typically when I'm wearing my jeans and I'm hunched over puking. My last baby I didn't feel move till almost 22 weeks most likely because of an anterior placenta.
My oldest started Kindergarten last week, he was a bit shocked at the classroom because he went to montessori for 2 years and this was a back to basics, sit in a desk and watch the teacher classroom.....he seems to like it for now, I'm not sure how well *I* like it. I had an OB appointment last week and have lost another 4 lbs (6 total)...I can almost fit into my maternity jeans *chuckle* They are tight in the legs with plenty of room on the tummy.
Happy Birthday to your daughter Rebecca!!

Can I be added to the list?? I am due the 14th.
Things are going well here. I have my second appointment with the midwife tomorrow. All is well. :)

Relatively placid here in baby-ville. I'm getting bizarre migraine-symptoms: numbness in my arms and face that travels around and then goes away in 10 minutes. I have had this on and off for years, but I haven't had an episode for about 8 years. And now twice in two days?? My dh thinks I'm dying, but I know what it is. The only bad part is the headache that follows.
Otherwise, I'm seeing my midwife next week. It's not the same one as last time since a) I waited too long to call them and they're really booked up and b) she's on vacation when I'm due so I'm kinda bummed, but hey, my last delivery as so aweful maybe it would be good karma to have a different midwife!
Puking, tired, cranky... par for the course :D.

hhh... here you all are.... :love So every week there's another thread huh?
So I have been in pain alot lately in the belly button area. I thought it may be a hernia & I asked the MW about it yesterday. She went ahead & did the exam, thought it was a hernia as well, and couldnt find our lil ones hb. so I agreed to do the us. We found the baby, safe & sound.
-he even WAVED both hands at us!!
And sure enough there is a good size umbilical hernia in my navel. Thats whats been hurting me so bad! It is random -not all the time, but several times a day at least It feels like a ice pick goes through my button & comes back out. Then it passes & Im fine for awhile (till it happens again).
Im not supposed to pick up anything over 10. lbs. (Ummm Riley is 23lbs & Kayleigh is 32lbs.) And I need to take it easy (HUH!?!?!) for the next 2 months -till my fundus (top of uterus) grows Over the hernia. Right now it is JUST under it (I'm carrying HIGH & Im short waisted!) so it is pushing up against the sorest spot & Also there is the danger that a loop of intestine can slip through there & that can cause a life threatening bowel obstruction or preforation.
Please pray for me & this baby. I really did NOT need this, as I already have a golfball sized cyst on my left ovary causing discomfort & taking up space in there...
I look 5 mos PG! :irked:

(From my medical journal)
at 12 weeks PG (from LMP. or 10 weeks guestation)Your baby's hit the 2-inch mark (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce. Her nerve cells have been multiplying rapidly, and synapses (neurological pathways in the brain) are forming. Your baby may have acquired more reflexes by now, including sucking, and she'll even squirm if you prod your abdomen, though you still won't be able to feel her movement for several weeks.
This is based on 'averages' of course, but I am curious what you are feeling??
How are you positive its the baby moving?
Or are you simply stating you can locate it & feel it in there?

Hello girls- so what is going on here??? Well the headache is still strong and making it hard to take care of Rainey nicely! I am getting stressed because I cant get it to stop hurting and then I just cant ask her to do something again- sigh!!! Scott is always reminding me she is 1.... Not that I am mean, I just am tired, and hurting and I dont wnat to ask again. On a better note- We have decided to move back to MI and I am very excited about that- we own a home there and we rent here so that is really hard. My family is all here (in WA) but, I really dont like it here and I want to go back home. So we are planning on moving in Nov. We need to get the funds together to do the move and we are talking about starting a gamming shop (computer games) there.
I have been getting sick still, I thought it was over but the onset of the headache started the onset of the bowl hugger again! My sister gave me a ton of really great MT clothes and I am so excited, she works for the state so they were all real nice clothes I can where when I am out doing business and also some great shorts and some shirts. Then I went to the second hand store yesterday and they were having a 99cent sale and I got 3 more shirts, but I am lacking in pants! I can still fit in my jeans but not for long.
Okay, that is my news thus far!
Ms.Doula I am thinking of you!
Ravenmoon, happy birthday to your girl!

Well...I used to scoff when people say they felt the baby moving this early.....but I'm taking it back now *chuckle*. By my dates I'm 12 weeks 6 days (almost 13 weeks)...by my ob's measurements (still choosing to go with my dates) I'm almost 14 weeks. It feels like a little worm squirming....it's not the typical gas bubbles because I have those too and it's really a different feel for me. It happens infrequently and usually only when I'm pressing/holding my abdomen from barfing. Of course they also say that the more babies you have the earlier you can feel it and this is my fourth baby....6th pregnancy. Of course I could be imagining that that's what it is yet I just feel so comfortable with saying I'm sure it is.

I felt my #3 about 14 weeks, if I remember correctly.
But my MW was NOT convinced that was what I was feeling till 15+ weeks. :eyesroll I was just thinking ok. at 14-15 weeks it MAY be possible to feel, but TWELVE! :eek
Come on! were talking about a tranclucent 1/2 ounch being. So frail (even worm-like)... But I see that you *ARE* closer to 14 weeks after all. ;)

I'm just hanging out, waiting to get through the first trimester yuckies. My family is as anxious as I, I'm sure! My daughter asks to see the "baby belly" every morning now, which is really cute. I don't know how her 22-month-old mind interprets all of this, but we tell her there's a baby in my belly, and she's happy when I show her. I think she thinks the belly button has something to do with it, which is funny. :)
We're going to be interviewing homebirth midwives soon, which is exciting. I'm currently seeing a hospital-based CNM that I love, but I don't want to give birth in a hospital this time. My only holdback is that my daughter was born at 35 weeks, and I don't want that to happen this time and be left with whatever OB is on call at the hospital. The homebirth midwives in this area don't have much backup, so they couldn't call in anyone "homebirth friendly" to deliver.
I wish we could deliver at home, even at 35 weeks! Our daughter was completely healthy.

I've developed a new and charming pregnancy side effect - random belching!
I sound like a frat guy at a kegger! And it's completely unpredictable (I don't drink carbonated drinks, I've held back on the cruciferous veggies since it started but that doesn't seem to help). I've avoided anything too terribly embarassing so far, except for one incident while I was on the phone with my dad.
I suppose this is the price I pay for not having MS.

Ang-that's great that you're moving back to MI! It sounds like you'll be much happier there. You mentioned maternity clothes at a secondhand store-I haven't had much luck with general-merchandise secondhand stores. Do you know of a good baby-preggo specific place in the Seattle area to buy used maternity clothes? Thanks!
cholderby-I'm the same way! My husband is SO sick of my burping! It's mostly in the evening (when he's around, haha), and just doesn't stop!
I'm doing great! I had an on again/off again headache for about 2 days last week but nothing that tylenol couldn't cure. I saw my midwife last week and at 9 weeks we didn't hear the heartbeat but I'm not to worry (hard to do after a previous blighted ovum).
I go see my midwife again next week and hopefully will hear a heartbeat, but not getting my hopes up b/c I'll only be 11 weeks. Still hanging in there and thinking more positive than I have been so that is a good thing.
I never did ask my midwife what my due date is but I'll say it is March 20th based on my lmp being June 13, adding 7 days and subtracting 3 months. Of course, I ovulated on day 10 of my cycle but I'm not gonna worry about a few days.

Crayon that is interesting you would rather be in MI.I grew up in Kalamazoo and escaped to Bellingham when i was 18.I hope to go back to WA in a few years.San Diego is too busy, too expensive and too hot!
Sorry to those who are still sick.I am so glad that is over for me.Now the over emotional part i could without as well.I am crying a bit too much.
I am 13 weeks now so is that the 2nd trimester.I can't ever remember!

I'm the same way-I finally feel like I've found a place that I can be comfortable, now that I've moved to western Washington! But everyone has their place, I think. My SIL, for instance, LOVES heat, and just has the chills whenever she visits us (even when it's sunny and 72 in the summer!!) Unless our family needs us in other parts of the country, I don't think we'll ever leave!

I have a house in N. Michigan- on Lake Superior so that is a bit different than down state. The people are way more layed back than anyplace I have ever seen, the cost of living is less and I dont have to worry about crime or people or anything- they are Yoopers! So it is like a whole different type of people! The west coast is a bit to pushy, and rushed for me.
I dont know any good second hand stores here- I just went to value village. Sorry I cant help out more- I did hear there is a good place in kent- I will find out the name, also check on "find your tribe" alot of the mamas there shop second hand and they know all the "ins".

On second hand maternity clothes -
I got three work appropriate shirts and a lovely pair of adjustable elastic waist pants (they are polyester, but are otherwise fabulous) for $13 Canadian plus $7 shipping on eBay. Unfortunately, I won't be able to wear the shirts for another few months, but I still consider it quite a score.
Once Upon a Child should start selling maternity clothes!

Northern MI gets sooo much snow though. That is what i disliked the most about MI.It snows a few times in WA and if you really miss it you can head to the mountains. In MI your stuck with it for months.
My inlaws have a cottage in Manistique and it is awesome up there. They shut it down for the winters though.
Have a great move whenever you go!

Hi all. Doing okay here. Will hit the 12 week mark on Friday. My midwife says that's the second trimester but the math part of my brain says that's not a third... :)
Had my second midwife appt on Monday. We tried for the heartbeat but no go. She said we had a 50-50 chance of hearing it but we were still disappointed. She did hear what she thought was fetal movement and almost a heartbeat or two here and there.
Did get some confirmation though...my uterus is at my belly button!! I couldn't believe it. 2.5 weeks earlier it was still under my pubic bone. I've been having weird abodominal pain in the last week or so and when the midwife traced the outline of my uterus for me I went aha! cause it exactly traced where my pain was.
The nausea is starting to let up some (though it's still all day...except in the morning LOL) and the fatigue has gone from debilitating to bad. Had my IGF-1 levels tested (all you need to know is that it measures the state of Growth Hormone in my body). It was 122, which is where it was when I was first diagnosed with GH Deficency (been as low as 84). I inject HGH and my IGF-1 was well over 200 pre-pregnancy. I will be contacting my endocrinologist today. No wonder my fatigue was that bad!! (severe fatigue is the major symptom)
Haven't gained a pound but my body is reshaping itself. Most of my torso weight (I'm 40 lbs overweight and most is in the torso) has moved forward so I really look pregnant. Not wearing mat clothes cause I already own clothes loose in the waist, but I'm sure I will soon.

Here's mine, 9wks 6days. It's pretty much my normal pooch, but a little bigger. Mostly my intestines sticking out at this point, though. ;)

I'm so fricken tired and anxiously waiting the waves of nausea to disappear. I nap everyday with ds for at least an hour. I'm supposed to be training for the breast cancer walk in a few weeks but have barely gotten off the couch. Oh and I'm snapping at poor dh like crazy.

Man I have some catching up to do, I haven't been here in a week or more!
Well I am 10 weeks and over the horible nausea and extreme fatigue. I have thrown up a few times without much warning and I still need to rest in the afternoon but I am fully functioning now *woohoo*
I am also having some early nesting syndrome lol I have scrubbed all of the walls in my house, scrubbed all of the floors, scrubbed the bathrooms. Then I have rearranged the living room, the idningroom and all 3 bedrooms. The last year I have just been existing in this house now i want it to be comfy and a home.
Also in the last week my dad came to visit and brought my 8yo back from summer vaca, we adopted a 6yo beagle, acquired fencing for our backyard and got a new dishwasher so I no longer have to wash by hand! Geez I have been busy no wonder I haven't been here much lol

Now that I have finally overcome my medical phobia and made a consultation appointment with a midwife (yeah I know, this is not a huge step for normal people), I am going to admit to having a "due date", somewhat arbitrary measurement though it may be.
It's 3/8/04.

Now please add me to the list with all the cool people. :-)
