I want to buy about 25 pounds of wheat berries and store them in glass jars. Does anyone know where I can buy those huge 1 gallon pickle jars or even bigger if possible so that I'd have less jars?! I'm trying really hard to avoid plastic! :)

Do you know anyone who works in a restaurant? I got all mine from the giant gallon olive and artichoke heart jars that they were going to throw out.

Oh, the restaurant idea is great. I may have to try that. I did get one huge glass jar for my wormtub compost. I looked all over and ended up at ... Walmart. :yikes:

Oh, definately ask a restaurant first; esp. a deli type place that will go through scads of peppereoncinis and pickles. I have a million of those things; got them all at the burger place in the mallette where I used to work. (are you in OR? I could give you some)
