Hi guys,
I just have to say hi and introduce myself even though I don't live in Alaska at the moment! I'm Megan and I grew up in Eagle River. My parents still live there so we visit once a year or so. I have a little 2yo dd and I live with my dh in Southern Alberta. I miss Alaska sooooooo much and I get homesick once in awhile. I come to this board to lurk sometimes and see what you all are up to in the Greatland! Tonight I was nursing dd to sleep in bed and feeling all homesick and thinking about all the things I love about AK so I decided to come on here to see if anything exciting was happening. Now that you say it's snowing I'm sooooo homesick! I'm about ready to jump on a plane and head that way! Sometimes I just love Alaska so much that it hurts! Do you think I'm crazy? :nut My dh does sometimes!

So, can I come and play once in awhile. I have lots of great Alaska comments to make so maybe I can join in sometimes!

I probably know people you do!! I graduated from Chugiak in "93" I'm sorry your homesick, I know how it can be. The northern lights where out a week ago. You know the green ones that dance in the sky? Take care mama, CC

What a bummer!
Any chance you can move back? I'm ignorant, but would Alberta be sort of similar?
Eagle River is great. Have you seen the new playground in Town Square? Pretty spiffy! My kids love the climbing holds and the tippy slide. My playgroup is going up to Eagle Lake soon, just at the end of HIland Road. So incredibly beautiful out there.

Oh, speaking of Alaskana, did you hear about the 2 Bull Moose that locked antlers and died of it? Just a few (?) feet away from the UAA arts bldg. Wow. Guess it was quite a battle. No-one saw it happen but recreated it from the scene afterwards.

Hi guys,
Thanks for the welcome. That's quite the story about the bull moose! Hard to believe no one saw it! My parents had a mama moose living in their yard for a week this spring, she had her two babies in the yard and then stayed for awhile. It was incredible, they sent me pictures of it and a little video clip. There were a few times when they couldn't leave the house because of the moose. One morning my mom and dad were eating breakfast and they looked out their dining room window and she was right in front of them, nursing her little babies!

Alaskan Mom, I graduated from Chugiak in 96 so we probably know lots of the same people! Isn't it crazy that we were both in high school together for a year! It's a small world, that's for sure!

Sorry to hear that your snow is turning to slush, no fun!
