Announcement: I just called the Philadelphia Visitors Center to get the correct phone number for the Waterworks and was told that there was a fire there and it will be shut down for a while!
So, the closest place to meet near there that is also nice would be the small fountain behind the Art Museum. It's in the back, past the parking lot and down a small hill or slope; there's a little garden there and a small fountain. In case of rain meet at Lloyd Hall #1 BoathousRow (tel. 215-685-3937).
August's Event will be a picnic, on Wednesday the 14th, at the small fountain behind the Art Museum at noon. I will wear a name tag that says Yvonne and be with my 21-month-old son James and my husband Matthew.

Hey, Yvonne -
Thanks for organizing this (again). I wasn't able to make the July day, but will make an attempt next week. Hope we get a cooler day! I'll just be with my nearly 5.5 month old dd, so she may not add much to a playgroup, but it'll be nice to see who else is in the area.

I was thinking we better meet inside Lloyd Hall. It's air conditioned inside and the area around the building is also pretty, if we venture out for a short walk.
I was just at the park with my son James for an hour. We were playing in the sprinkler and it was still way too hot. Wednessday is supposed to be even hotter.

Hi,
We're thinking of moving back to the Philly area. I was wondering if anything is happening with this playgroup and if you could tell me what your experiences with parenting/natural living in the area are like.
Thanks!

Is this group alive?
Its spring- we are out and about. I used to live in Philly and find it hard to stay away- and excuse to visit would be great!

:hippie I'm no longer organizing this group; but of course you can try to get people together for a group. I don't mind if you use this thread or start a new one. I tried really hard to get a meeting of sorts together last year. There was some interest expressed, but not much involvement. One person contacted me from Ap Moms Connect email group saying that she might start such a thing in Mt. Airy if there is interest. I'd be interested in going to a natural parenting group depending on the time and location of the meeting. (My 2 year old has been waking up at 1 am and keeping me awake until about 5 or 6 am every morning, so I have trouble getting anywhere until the afternoon.)
