Melbourne Alternative and Attachment Parenting has a stall at the Parents, Babies and Childrens expo (Oct 15-17th). We are there providing information on 5 main areas of AP, babywearing, natural birth, baby wearing, breastfeeding, cosleeping and gentle discipline. We also have info on anti -control crying, vaccinations, homebirth, homeschooling, elimination communication, cloth nappies, first foods and more :)
MAAP is a parent run group, recently incorporated as a not-for-profit entity, so we can do activities beyond our playgroups/parent support and online discussions. We think it is important to help raise the profile of more gentle practises, to be another voice hopefully balancing all the other stuff out there. We are very pleased that our group was mentioned in the Expo press release, and we've spoken to radio, as we just want the information out there, so parents can make conscious decisions about some base stuff. It has been quite a feat to get us to the Expo, we all have kids 5 and under. We have raised funds, created our "propaganda", made a great display, and now we are ready to be there and be seen :)
Anyway, that's my spiel :) I would absoluely LOVE if someone came up to the stall and told me they saw this post on Mothering :)
