I'd use this name, but a close friend of my mom has a new grandchild with it, so I'll pass it on to you guys.
I can't recall the first name of the baby, but her middle name is Solstice because she was born around the first day of summer like many of us.
So if anyone wants to grab it, go ahead :)
I've had the name Oscar on the brain for a while now and think it's the best thing since Kleenex. Of course Shark Tale comes out and now I'm sure everyone will name their kid Oscar. Oh well.
I was never really one for picking names before conception and early on, but because I already have one child, I've had a few buzzing in my head for a few years.
If you all have any other suggestions I'd love to hear what you all like. I have a girl's name but keep changing my mind. That name is Shea. To me it's much more fun to come up with a boys name just like it's more fun to shop for boys clothing because the cute stuff isn't easy to find. When you get a good one you feel good about it you know?
Take care all!
Karen

Ooh, I love Solstice as a middle name! Ds has two middle names (Theodore Samuel) so we have plenty of room for one :)

I've been thinking about names for #2 ever since ds was born. Right now I like Eleanor for a girl, and maybe Harold (a family name) for a boy.

Dh likes "Cash." :eyesroll

I am really big on names. I love thinking about names. The only problem is, we went over just about every name in the whole wide world and couldn't agree on one and just barely picked one for ds and even that I wasn't thrilled with- it was getting close and we needed to choose something.

So now I am totally stuck on boys names- anything I like has been totally used to death. Yesterday at the park, the one and only name I had thought I might possibly like, there were 3 boys with that name!! Argh!

Girls names I like several of, so I think with some discussion we'll come to an agreement.

I am just praying that this baby's name will come to me and I will be sure of it one of these days before he or she is born!

I love thinking of names. I think it is the writer in me wanting to see what a person named "___" would be. What possibilites lie out there in the future.

We've never been able to agree on a boy's name and fortunately have had girls so we havn't had to decide.
We had Madeline picked out before we were married and Ellysia just seemed right when I found it.
We have a couple of ideas for girls: Sophia, Ava, Bergan...

I saw a baby boy at the hospital recently that was a Homer Oscar. There was one that was in the nursery with E that was (no joke on the spelling) MaxaMillion.

:LOL MaxaMillion

We seem to have some strange obsession with H names for boys, so who knows what will come up with.

If it's a girl I'm fairly sure the middle name will be Joanne after dh's mother, we almost lost her to a stroke and heart attack back in August and dh and I both said one night that if we ever had a girl we wanted to use her name. Not sure on the first name yet.

I guess the names we've picked aren't very summery, but I'm not really a summer person anyways. Right now we're thinking Scott Edward and Meredith Lyon. DF isn't too thrilled about "Lyon" but he's not really against it either. He likes it more for a boy, but we're already set on his middle name for a boy. And I'm not going to just hope we have 2 boys so I can give the name that I like! But it is very important to me because its a family name, so I think DF will eventually agree. He's pretty easy going. I figured most people wouldn't like it for a girl, but I've been asking around on messageboards and I have yet to find someone who doesn't like it. Everyone says it sounds regal or sophisticated.

Nightowl - I totally like Scott Edward. I love traditional names.

I have a hard time with girl names - I can't find ANY I like. I do like the names Summer and Autumn (well, she was concieved in autumn) though. Hmm . . . .

No summer names here, either. We're using my last name as the middle name for all our children, so we only have to come up with one name (and it has to be really good since we only have one fun name). I think DH and I have our minds made up, but we're keeping our names a secret until the baby is born.

With ds#1 I had a girl's name picked out that i LOVED. Arianna Celeste. I actually prefer Celeste Arianna but it doesn't sound right with our last name. Now, I don't really know if I like it or not. We have to have a girl, though. We are all out of boy names. :LOL

Well, geminimommy you have my suggestion for you next H name. I think Homer sounds good with your other boys' names!

NightOwl: I love Meredith, but I couldn't convince DH about it. Why Lyon? Is there some connection? I love the history behind names. I think it makes kids feel special to have a name that has a story behind it.

jerawo: you are so lucky to have a last name that is usable. Let's just say mine was not even close. I have a SIL that was able to use "Sterling" and I thought that was such a gift to give her son that name.

twouglyducks: isn't that funny that a name you loved with a previous pg now just sounds like it isn't right. Our boy name has been tossed around this time, but we just aren't sure.

I know- we had our girls' name set last time, and now this time I don't want to use it...I guess now that I'm a mom and being around little kids all the time I have more of an idea of what is overly popular, or what sounds good on a little kid, etc. So now we're starting from scratch again- we talked about it again yesterday and we really don't like any boys names...we may just have to choose something that is 'acceptable' and a 'good name' even if we don't love it, and I know that once it's your child's name, it doesn't matter and you love it! I'm still praying for inspiration though!
