I'm going to knit my nieces ponchos for Christmas (what they asked for). Is there a free pattern somewhere? I want something really cute. Mock or full turtleneck would be great, too!

I made two wks ago from a super easy pattern I found on knitty.com. They have several poncho patterns there, I just picked an easy one to make use of this thick yarn I had. It was a rectangle folded up to make a poncho. I finished it in a day!!

There is a good pattern for a fun-fur poncho on www.lionbrandyarn.com in the "free pattern section. It's fast, easy and looks pretty good when you're finished. I knitted one in about a week for a 6.5 year old and she loved it.

I second the lion brand fun fur one. I made one for my 11 yr old and now I'm making one for her friend. Very easy! We modified it by making a chain with the fun fur and "threading" it thru to tighten the neck. But my dd just loves the big bow it makes...
