I'm about a week late in starting this but better late than never, right? :)
Feel free to record any significant dreams that you might have during your pregnancy here. They could be dreams about the baby's gender, the birth circumstances, what the baby looks like, etc. Anything that would be fun to look back on to see if it was accurate.
I've found during my two previous pregnancies that my dreams were quite vivid and some were very accurate regarding gender and personality.
Have fun!

Around 5-1/2 weeks pregnant I had a very vivid dream about the baby's gender. During breakfast I said to dh, "I HAVE to tell you about my dream!" and he replied, "Ok, and then I have to tell you about mine!"
I dreamt that I was picking up toys around the house after the children were asleep and one of the toys was actually an ultrasound machine. Excitedly, I sat down and started scanning my tummy to try and see the baby. I couldn't get a read on anything and realized that I had to go a bit lower to see the baby...there it was! The baby was laying down and was like a very miniature version of a full-term baby and there it was: a penis! I was so excited that it was a boy, I started crying!
Upon hearing my dream my dh began his: He dreamed that we were all sitting at the dinner table and it was our normal chaotic scene..except there were three children there and the youngest was around 6 months old sitting in his highchair: a boy.
How weird is that??
We haven't had any gender dreams prior or since. I wonder if it was his way of telling us he is indeed a sweet little boy?

I had a dream a few weeks back when I was about five weeks along that I gave birth to little girl very early in my living room.. but she was perfectly fine other than being small. I, however, was freaking out, because I only had the baby things I've bought so far - which is like six onesies!! Everyone kept forgetting to support her head and it was very wobbly...
I was also worried that I wouldn't be able to breastfeed her because she'd been born so early but when I put her to my breast the milk flowed right out! That part was actually really neat:)
I've only had one other baby dream since, and it wasn't so vivid... but baby was a boy in that dream!!
I can't wait to find out which it'll be:)

A few weeks ago, I had a dream that took place in like, a huge hotel room? THere were lots of people there, but I decided to go to the bathroom b/c I thought I was in labor. I ran a bath and got in. A few minutes later a baby slid out. :LOL "She" looked up at me, and when she started blowing raspberries in the water I knew she was ready to get out of the water and breath on her own. I was so excited that she was a she. But later on I changed a diaper at home, and there was a penis. I can't decide if this dream was just a weird dream, or if maybe it is a girl, but I'm trying so hard not to get excited about a girl, that i changed it to a boy??
Around the same time, but a few days prior, my husband said he had a dream that we had a girl, she was close to 2 and had dark, curly hair. :D He never rememebers his dreams, and he isn't really excited about a girl b/c they scare him. LOL

Yikes. I had a dead baby dream last night, my first dream about the baby. Hopefully they won't continue, though I wasn't really bothered in my dream or when I woke up afterwards. Maybe the dream was related to the pictures of a dog giving birth I looked at in a book the day before.

I had a dream the other night where I was holding my baby and she had red hair. Jeff's mom had red hair so that would be quite fun to have this link.

Obviously I am not seeing or thinking clearly today lol! I created a separate post for my dream because I could not for the life of me find this thread!
I'm copying it here.
Anyways, with my first pregnancy, I could only think of boys' names- didn't matter how hard I tried, I couldn't think of girls' names. I had a boy.
So this time around all I can think of is girls' names- I just *know* that this will be a girl. But last night I had a dream that they did an ultrasound and it was a boy! Which of course I'd be perfectly happy with- as long as the baby is healthy I don't care which gender, you know?
I'm just wondering if my gut is wrong and it's a boy. Hmm.

I had a weird/bad dream a few nights ago. I dreamt that my baby was born in November but somehow HE was 6 lbs 5 ozs. Impossible! I was crying and freaking out but they were reassuring me that he was ok and was big enough. It was really weird.
Then I had another dream recently that my 4 year old was at the bottom of a swimming pool just sitting there (we recently started swimming lessons with him) and I dove in and picked him up but when I got to the top all I was holding was a tiny fetus in my hands. It was really horrible.
Not liking these dreams

for like a year i've been having dreams that we had a baby and i kept nursing, but i never made any milk, or the baby would never latch on right. since i've been pregnant i've had a couple dreams where i was nursing a baby with no problem. i wonder if it's related to me doubting my body's abilities through all of our fertility struggles, and now i am more confident?
i also keep having dreams about conflicts with my mom. grr. i get so frusterated with her.

Yikes, Pepper, that would really freak me out, too!! My MW was telling me yesterday about a client she had years ago that dreamt she had her baby and it was a hound dog puppy. She was really upset, and the old man down the street walked in and said, "Well, be glad. Those hounds mind much better than kids do." It cracked me up, but I know if I'd had the dream I would be really bothered by it. I just can't imagine getting a good latch with a puppy.

I hear you about the bad dreams!
Two nights ago I had a very, very strange dream. I gave birth to a fish, which then birthed two smaller fish out of her mouth. This was on the toilet at a restaurant, with a waitress in the room smoking a cigarette! I went back to my table, and the waitress called me back to the restroom. The toilet had overflowed, and a plastic baby doll floated to the top. I snatched the doll up and took her home, where she turned into a real baby and I was able to nurse her! Very disturbing! At least I came home with a baby after all that!

last night i had a dream that i had three children. My Zoom was there, and she was the oldest, and the younger two were both boys. This is all I remember....
thankfully no weird dreams about babies yet...I'm sure they are coming as I can still remember a few from when I was pregnant with dd.

Lats night I had a dream that I had had my baby, but it was at my mom's. I didn't know the sex, or when it happened. And it had been a couple of days, because I was worried that the baby wouldn't latch on. Well, it was a girl with blue eyes and brown hair. She latched on with no problem. My mom had her in sposies and I couldn't wait to put her in cloth. But I couldn't figure out how to fold the prefolds, and none of my wool was ready for her. But I figured it out and went on feeding her. It was a nice dream.
I feel so bad for the bad dreams out there! I've had those before, but not while pregnant. I'm sure I will, but I know they will freak me out too!

I've dreamt several times about the birth. It's weird because I can feel it but there's no pain; the baby kind of just slides right out into my hands and into my arms but I never really see the baby, just the baby coming out. Really just about the experience of the baby coming out into my own hands.
This isn't really anything that I particularly want in real life, but it would be neat. I wouldn't mind if the midwife caught the baby, I never thought "I want to pull my own baby out" kind of thing.
Last night I dreamt of my sister. She's also pregnant, due roughly a week and a few days after me. This is her first.
She had the baby, but hadn't seen the doctor yet so they went to the hospital and just HAD it. At 6 weeks along, but still a full term baby. Gotta love dreams.
So they didn't tell anyone until the day she was supposed to come home from the hospital and I find out from my mom. I"m like "Did she have a c-section?" (that's par for the course in my way of thinking. It's a sickness.). She didn't... So I go to the hospital and there she and her husband are, just fine, getting ready to go home. So I'm all "How is nursing going" and she basically told me that she hadn't done that yet. I get a little miffed and say "Your milk should probably come in today, but if you don't nurse the baby you won't be stimulated to make milk! Plus now you'll never be able to nurse because he's used to the bottle!!!" I kind of choked on the word "never" because in my dream I was thinking that yes you can still nurse a baby who's had a bottle, but it's pretty damn hard.
I think my dream was a way of telling me to back off of her. I just get so nervous knowing this is her first baby; I don't want her taken advantage of by an ob or even a midwife because we all know there are bad midwives too. Then of course I'm a big bf'ing advocate. It would kill me if she didn't nurse, but it's her prerogative. Like I tell most people, I won't lie, it would piss me off, but as long as you've made a good informed decision and taken a class and researched it, then go ahead and do what you want. I just don't like it when people use the usual excuses and don't know the whole story.
So in my dream I was all hurt that no one knew they had the baby, etc. It left me feeling a little yucky. It's hard to just let things go when you know so much.
Take care,
Karen

Well, mostly I've been dreaming about having sex with people :LOL (Last night it was Jordan Knight from New Kids on the Block; how the heck did HE get in my head?!) But, over the weekend, I had a dream that had (almost) nothing to do with sex, and everything to do with my kids. :LOL (The sex showed up on the tail end, with my husband for a change, woohoo! :LOL)
The first part of the dream is worth sharing, for giggle's sake... My neighbor's son skinned his knee trying to get down from the three foot concrete wall around my property. I carried him across the street to his house, where his mom, (Rosie O'Donnell...don't ask me how SHE got in my head, either), took him from me and we chatted a bit. I remember being absolutely terrified that she was going to get mad at me because her son skinned his knee at my house :LOL
Anyway, I went home and went upstairs to change the baby's diaper (who was a boy, btw), and his OLDER brother was bugging me, so I sent him out to play with Daddy.
Two boys??? I might shoot myself. :LOL

I've mostly been having sex dreams too, with other people but my husband. Very weird. No baby dreams...hope that doesn't mean anything! :( My sex drive has definitely been up the last few weeks, I'm 10 weeks pregnant.

I've been having lots of weird sex dreams, too... I seem to be going through the cast of That 70's Show. :LOL
But last night... man, WEIRD dream. I was 38 weeks pg and my OB (who I shouldn't be seeing at that point IRL) sent me to the hospital saying I needed some test or something. I don't know. I get there to this HUGE hospital room filled with people who are evidently my friends, including all the ladies of Sex and the City (which I've never watched BTW). So, they start doing an u/s which looked totally dif. than a real u/s, but the babe was still way up high, floating, and they start doing some weird thing to make him come down just to see if the cord will be in the way. Which, it is, so they do something else to make the baby move the cord, then he goes head down with his head tilted sideways, but that doesn't bother the doctors. Anyway, then they tell me to go lay in the other bed (there were 3 or 4 in my room). So I go, then ask the main doc why I"m there. She says, "Well, to have your baby of course." I start asking her all of these questions like, "Why? I'm still 2 weeks from my edd, baby is obviously not ready, I am NOT in labor, 60% of women go past there edd anyway," (not sure of actual numbers, that just came out in the dream.) She says, "Well, you've impressed me, but sorry, you're having your baby today." And I start freaking out b/c that means I'll get pit, broken water, then epi and csection... no doubt in my mind. I tell her I'm leaving and she gets super mean and says, "I'll slap paperwork on you that will make you have to stay here AND give your baby up." I said, "Oh, you mean I'll be leaving AMA? Big deal." She looks shocked that I've heard of it before. And she leaves and locks me in my room!!! So I'm FREAKING out b/c babe is NOT ready, I dont want a csection or my baby to have any problems. It's a blur after that, I was trying to find someone to let me sign the papers saying I knew what I was doing and I was leaving anyway. Then I woke up. Whew... that dream had me going for a while after, since I woke up from it at like 5am.

The other night I had a dream that I went to the doctor and he asked me if I wanted to know the sex of the baby. I thought it was too early (9 weeks). But he pulled the baby out painlessly, showed me it's genitalia and put it back inside. It was a boy. And my doctor is a woman. Weird...

Last night I had this really strange dream that I was in an orphanage ready to adopt a newborn baby. For some reason I only wanted a newborn and the only newborn there was this really beautiful little girl who had a head full of dark hair. She looked like me when I was a baby. None of my kids look like me, so I immediately felt a bond with her. Then I realized that I am pregnant and started thinking that it might be too hard for me to keep her so I had to put her back in the cradle and leave. I was sobbing in my dream.

This is my strangest one yet and it was during a nap to boot.
Earlier today I was watching this documentary on the woman who was depicted in the movie Monster. I can't remember her name... Anyway it was very fascinating. She didn't scare me or come off as someone who I'd be freaked out to be in a room with but I had a nightmare about her. Sort of anyway... I don't remember it happening, but she put a pencil through my EYE!!! I pulled it out and then was so afraid to look in the mirror. I could actually feel something under my eyelid, like I could feel a lump under it from the wound. I kept thinking about how I'd have to have surgery and go under anesthesia, how I might not be able to see out of that eye again. Then I saw that the hole wasn't through the iris and all of a sudden thought "Oh no big deal then!!!" But I looked in the mirror and surrounding my whole eye was swollen like I had been beaten up.
That's the weirdest one so far. Occasionally I'll have the painless birth dream where I know I'm in labor and I'll moan and yell and all of that but nothing hurts, then I wonder how the heck the baby will come out if I am not having pain. Then the baby just comes right on out and that's it. Those dreams are nice though; something to focus on since labor doesn't necessarily have to be a bear. If you're hypnotized :)
Take care,
Karen

I had a dream the other night- the first part I remember is rushing into my little kitchen, which was packed with friends visiting, and asking for help in getting my underwear off! Nobody believed me that the baby was coming right then, since I wasn't in labor or feeling any pain, so I did it myself, and she (!) slid right out onto the table. She was 9 lb, 6 oz (why do we dream these funny details?) and had a full head of dark brown hair. Labor hadn't hurt at all, which seems normal for a dream, but then her actual exit stung ALOT. I don't think I've ever felt pain in a dream before. (unless I really had to pee IRL!)
It was a surprise to me, since the baby I miscarried in March felt like a boy to me all along, and I've been feeling like this is the same baby come back to me. I'm set on the same boys name and everything...
but then again I dreamt of boys throughout my preg with DD, right up until the last few weeks, which were packed with vivid dreams of a girl with DD's coloring and personality. :love (well, we'll see about her adolescent years, where she is short and sullen and, according to my journal, "I don't know what to say to her.") We'll see...

Had my first delivery dream over the weekend. I wasn't really dreaming about the delivery, though, I was dreaming about telling my best friend about the delivery, and trying to remember it. :LOL
All I could remember was being in the kneeling position, supporting myself on my headboard, and the baby sliding out. No pain, no problems. I couldn't remember if my husband or mw were even THERE. :LOL

I had two good ones last night!
The first one I dreamt that I was with my midwife. I think we were all at a concert out in the parking lot or a mall or something. I found a cicada hole and she pulled out a cicada in its shell and actually pulled the cicada out of it. The cicada was alive and started flying around although part of his body was missing (common in some cicadas, especially the dead ones lol). I was so freaking excited because the cicadas had come in the very early summer but died within 6 weeks and won't return for 17 years. For some reason (this is true) I absolutely loved them and I actually miss them. I guess this is significant because the midwife brought one to life. It happened to be a male which is my favorite kind because they're the ones who sing. It flew away though so I was really really bummed. I think I was actually crying in the dream.
Then I had a dream that was like a time traveling thing. I dreamt I went to my parents old apartment from when I was 2 years old. Only thing was it was kind of run down and the backyard looked industrial. I was in the kitchen and was like "Wow mom this is really small!". I was there as a 2 year old and then also as an adult simultaneously. The young me had VERY skinny arms (???) and I was hugging and cuddling with my mom. She showed me the front and back yard and thought it was really cool since it was an apartment and had both. I think in real life this was also true. I know they had a small front yard and patio at their old apartment that she really loved.
Anyway I kept thinking to myself "Tell my dad to invest in Apple and Microsoft". LMAO! I think I was thinking about Forrest Gump and Back to the Future at the same time. Then I thought I might be stuck there and it would really stink because there were no cell phones or internet and I had no idea how I'd research stuff (Gee, how about the library!! lol). It was interesting because I thought it would give us all a new lease on life since I knew what would be a good career to get into, what would really take off, if our family had only started earlier.
It's amazing how poignant some of these dreams are. I look forward to them.
Oh yeah and the other night I had a sex dream. Had to do with some dude named Jose (double??????LOL!). I took him out onto this floating bed in a lake and was like "Oh my god I've waited so long for this!" and that was pretty much it. I think I woke up laughing my butt off.
Take care ladies!

This could, quite possibly be one of the oddest dreams I've ever had. :LOL
I was home, but it was actually my parents' OLD apartment, where I lived the FIRST time I was pg and miscarried. I was getting ready for school (haven't been in school in a good six years or so), and I was trying to get some food together. I was trying to eat breakfast, AND get lunch together, because I didn't want to eat the crap in the cafeteria. I wanted a good healthy, organic lunch, and I imagined my friends Joe and Jaime woudl laugh their butts off at me, but I didn't care (When I was in school, there was nothing I liked more than greasy pizza from that non-organic cafeteria :LOL)
Besides thinking of Jaime and Joe laughing at me, I was also trying DESPERATELY to be on time because I had had a fight with my husband the day before about me not being on time for work (IRL, DH and I own a business, and we DID have a snafu about me being late yesterday. But, this is the ONLY time I thought about DH in this dream and he wasn't in it.)
So, I"m buttering a whole grain english muffin, and my brother's eating breakfast at the table. A movement catches my eye, and I look down to see a perfect baby girl in a carrier. She's grinning up at me. I'm not surprised to see HER. I think I was surprised that she was awake, or something. So, I unhook her from teh carrier and she puts her arms out to me. This is my daughter. I know this is my daughter. I pick her up and say "Did you say hi to Uncle Danny?" And she waves at my brother.
I about DIE. "DANNY! Did you SEE THAT!" It was the first time she waved at anyone. And she was giggling her little feet off. :LOL My dad came out of his bedroom and asked what the commotion was, and I told him the baby just waved at Danny.
I dance with her into the bedroom. Well, I was GOING to my bedroom, but I went to my brother's bedroom instead, because, for some reason, that's where all the baby's clothes were :) My mom had put all her clothes in several piles, ones that were still too big, ones that would fit now, ones that were too small, ones that were ugly. :) I laid down on the bed and put the baby on my belly, she crawled up to my chest. This was the first time she crawled, and I about freaked out again. Dad poked his head in, and I said, "SHe just CRAWLED!"
Now, I did at one point have a passing thought, about how I was going to be late again, but I didn't care one bit. :LOL
Anyway, go ahead, tell me I'm nuts, but I don't think this dream was about the baby i'm carrying. I think it was about the baby I miscarried. And here's why.
The only THOUGHT of my husband was because we had a fight yesterday. Obviously, I was still upset about that and my subconscious was working on it. :LOL
Other than that, I was in the same apartment as I lived in when I miscarried. I was also getting ready for school; I was in college when I miscarried. There was no recognition of DH as DD's Dad, either. Of course, there was no thought of another dad, either. But, that's probably just because I"m sure I'd have been mostly on my own had that pregnancy not ended in a miscarriage.
So, go ahead, tell me I'm crazy. :LOL It was still agreat dream, regardless of what baby it was about. :)

I had a weird dream last night. Lots of driving around some busy town in different cars. Don't even think I was pg. while driving. But then I pulled back into the trailer house in a salvage yard or car dealer or something where I lived with my parents ICK!!!! I had a weird feeling in my stomach and thought, "I may be going into labor". Reach down, baby is crowning. Climb up into this huge bed holding the head, by the time I lie back the head is out and I checked for a cord. Then this HUUUUUGE kid slides out... never turned so I pulled "it" out back to me. I think it's been too long since I've held a newborn b/c I thought this baby was tiny, but when I layed it on my chest the top of the head and all of the legs were hanging off. LMAO!! For some reason I assumed it was a boy even though we were all talking about "Yay, she's here..." and such. Strange dream, but that type of labor would be nice... As long as it weren't at say, walmart. :D

So from pretty much the first day I found out I was pregnant, I've had a feeling that it's a girl. Well last night I had a dream that they did and ultrasound and then I was immediately in labor (natural no c-section yay!) and gave birth to a little boy. I said to my hubby 'well it looks like I was completely wrong'! Isn't that weird? It may be because my son keeps saying that he will only be a big brother to a baby brother- that he doesn't want a baby sister. Who knows? But maybe I am wrong...

Okay... had yet another birth dream last night and I guess I really forgot how tiny newborns are b/c I watched a BIIIIG baby come out of me... forehead first. She was about 8 weeks old i think. :LOL
Anyway, I was in the backyard of my childhood home, by a bush. Just squatting by myself... My gma would show up occassionally. I didn't push too long and it never hurt. I was never scared. It was funny though. The umb. cord was smaller than a straw.

I had my first birthing dream last night! :) I dreamnt I was in labor and everything was going really well. It was early labor still. Then I came out of the bathroom and immediately felt like pushing! I totally skipped transition I guess. I sat down on the edge of the bed and pushed for awhile, i remember my water breaking, and then out came this beautiful baby girl :love Dh caught her. It all happened so quickly that he had never even called our midwife! It was a great dream, too bad this is all I remember of it. The funny thing is that I've had other dreams about this baby, and the baby was always a boy in those dreams. This time I dreamnt about the actual birth and the baby was a girl. :shrug

Once again I have had a birth dream- the third in which I had a natural vaginal birth :thumb :wink
It was the most realistic. You guys know that I am so worried that this one will be breech like my son was... well I have been trying techniques in case she is still breech like she was at my 28 week ultrasound. I have been living, breathing, eating, sleeping breech and worrying so much about it- I think about what position she is in constantly.
Well I had the most realistic dream that I had a natural birth and I stayed completely relaxed throughout- I was meditating and in a dream-like trance and all my muscles were relaxed. Then they handed me a swaddled little bundle and I looked down into Katelyn's face- I actually saw her entire face in this dream and she was so small. And my mom, husband and one of my sisters was there and I remember her telling me that I only had one small tear and I told her that I was so surprised and happy that I didn't even feel them stitching it up. It was a really pleasant dream. I honestly feel like it was a premonition- that that is how my labor is going to be and that I'm not going to end up with a repeat section like I keep fearing. Either that or wishful thinking...

Dreamed last night that I had my sweet baby, and it was a GIRL :D (first girl dream! :D)
We were at my grandparents' apartment (I've been dreaming about their apartment a lot, which is odd, because they've both been dead for years. the only thing I can think of is that it was so central to my family for most of my life, and that's why most of my dreams have been taking place there. I guess) Anyway, my best friend was there, as well, with her baby, who was older than he really is. There were other people around, as well; family I imagine, although no one stands out.
My baby started fussing a bit, so I started to nurse, but she was having some latching trouble. I was very careful to do everything right, re: positioning and such. She didn't have as much nipple in her mouth as she should have, but she was getting milk, so I didn't worry. At some point, I looked down and she was my cat, who's also dead. when I woke up, the image of me nursing my cat was the image that brought the whole dream flooding back to me :LOL
Anyway, Lianne (best friend) had left her son near the front window, where he was playing with some toys. My grandfather came up behind him and started talking to him and playing with the toys with him. Lianne and I exchanged looks, and I told DH to go get the baby. My grandfather molested me when I was a kid, and Lianne knows this. We were careful in the dream to keep our babies away from him.
It was a weird dream; the first time I've dreamt about my grandfather in about a billion years, the second time I've EVER dreamt about him, in fact. The first time I dreamt the baby is a girl. Nursing the cat (that was freaking odd.) I think it's also the first time I ever dreamed about Lianne, too.
I'm holding on to the baby girl part, though :LOL
