Hey, thanks Piglet for rubbing it in! ;) Yes, it's November 1st, and still no baby in sight for me. 5 days late and no contractions. I'm growing bigger and grumpier by the day. I just want to meet this babe already. We've tried lots o' sex (much to Damian's delight!), nipple stimulation, and lots of walking. But nothing. Nipple stimulation brings on contractions for about an hour and then they stop. Walking does didly squat and sex, well, it makes DH smile, that's about it. It was so nice having Damian home for the weekend. I was able to rest and nap when I needed, but today he is back to work, and I have to be the parent. And all I want to do is crawl back in bed.

Trying really really hard to be patient....

Congrats on all the new babies. I skimmed the last thread but my mind is blanking on me...

Oh crumb I just posted on last weeks thread. :duh

Well, no baby for us yet. We had a mid-Ocober due date :LOL So I am over 2 weeks 'late'

Have tried cornsilk and homeopathic black and blue...not a darn thing :LOL

I have developed a terrible cough that causes me to gag and prevents me from talking easily. I told dh its hard to hold my crotch, head and cough at the same time. And I have got sore tummy muscles from coughing.

Once I get over the cough I have castor oil waiting should I get brave enough to try it...

My poor dh has been off work for a week waiting for this baby to come and taking care of me and the girls being my fuse is rather short. I feel badly for him burning his maternity leave and no baby.

:hug to the other October mommies who are still waiting...

MomtoL&A- major :hugs...to be so far overdue and also not feeling well...you poor thing!

Ah Soogie, you made me laugh..at least your DH has a smile on his face ;)

Ember's birthday is Nov.6 so I think that Nov. is a good month to have a baby in too :D I posted labor vibes for you this morning in the other thread ;)

Welcome Henry, Lillian and Fiona!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, Ekathrina, I sure hope this is it for you!!!!

momto l&a - I really hope you get your turn soon too, you've been waiting soooooo long! I think my son has that same cold. He has such a nasty cough! I bet that would be painful at 42 weeks!!!! :Hug

Soogie, :LOL Hope your attempts to start labour will soon be successful, but at least you have a happy hubby in the meantime!

November is great! My son was also a November baby!

Maybe we should say October/November mamas. :hug Well, it had to be some of the later Oct ones inevitably. It wasn't gonna be the kid tho. That baby wasn't even going to be born on the 31!

I let d (:eyesroll)h have it. I feel better now. :LOL I think I might move the changing table in the living room. Then everybody who wants to see can and not all my laundry and messy dresser. :shake

I have to visit LWAB! after diapering. I need to wash dipes today! :yikes:

Oh Piglet is on the ball as usual and I posted on the other thread....

Still here...guess this baby didn't want to be an October baby after all...

Tried lots of "natural inducers" these last few days and nada, nothing :( I know, I know, when the baby is ready...but that does get old doesn't it!!??
And then DH has the nerve to tell me that he cleared his schedule to take this week off but "can't" take next week off because of his meeting schedule so I better hurry up! Oh the foolish man...he should know better than to say something so dumb and maddening! I just gave him "the look" :angry

So just waiting and need to get a new "going home" outfit since the other one was a pumpkin outfit!

So happy for all you mamas holding your babies :love Enjoy!

:hug to you, pregnant mamas!

Momto l&a, I would really recommend avoiding the castor oil, but that's just based on my experience last week. It really was a nightmare for me. Pooping during hard contractions is not fun at all. It was probably the most unpleasant experience of my life! Of course, maybe you have done it before, and had a different time.

Gotta go, Levi wants his nursers..... :love

Hey.........................I'm not on the roll call!

Well.I just found out that my mom erased my entry to all of you. I was writing to let you know Angelo Richard had arrived!

He was born on Oct 22 at 140am 7lbs 10 oz 20 in long

I wrote a huge letter to all of you but Angelo needed to nurse. So I ran in the other room to nurse him........having trouble doing two things at one time still........my mom got on the computer. I asked her if she posted my message and she said yes.

I just started reading last weeks posts and apparrently she did something wrong. I had no post!

I haven't been on except like twice since he was born. Congrats to all of the mommas who have had there babies. Birthing Vibes to those who have babies that are so comfy in the tummy they don't want to come out! They will soon. They just don't realize how fun it is out here.

I will post Angelo's birth story and pic soon!

Well life with babe is fun. Very challenging but very fun. I had two days of anxiety attacks and freaking out how in the world am I going to do this but now i feel better. Tara developed jaundice. We have to have her on the bili blanket (since there isn't much for sunlight) so needless to say waking her up to nurse is quite fun. :irked: I have to say I like the ped. we picked out. He is really nice.

I read some tlak about natural vs pitocin induction. Now that I have expreince w/ both I much prefer a castor oil induction than a pitocin one. I'll post my birth story soon. Happy birthday to all the new babes!

Happy laboring to all you mommas left. You have my strongest labor vibes going your way.

Congratulations AngelBee!!!!

:heartbeat :jumpers: :balloons Welcome to the world Angelo!!!!!!!!!!

Poor little Harrison was soooo gassy last night. I had a falafel for lunch, which was very very yummy by the way, but my poor little guy paid for it dearly. He would begin to relax and fall asleep and then all of a sudden his eyes would pop open and he'd strat to wriggle around and make little fussy noises. I would change his position he would have a little burp and spit up a bit and then fuss until he drifted back into a light uncomfortable sleep. This went on for almost 2 hours. Finally at 11:30pm he gave up 2 humoungus burps and fell dead asleep for the night. Didn't even wake up to nurse until 5am.

Ah Harrison, you poor gassy boy!

I keep expecting Willow to get fussy and gassy or something. My diet has been terrible, darn that halloween candy!!! I can't stop eating tons of chocolate because it's just so tasty!!! Luckily it doesn't seem to be affecting her (knocking on wood). I need to go eat something healthy now.

:o I guess I'm a little tired! I just copied what I posted on last week's thread - Jillian's waking up, will check in later!!!

:) Congratulations to all the new Mamas!!! I've sure been missing out your great birth stories! :)

Welcome Lillian, Henry, Tara, and Fiona!!! :w Happy Birthday!!! :birthday: :balloons They all seem like such healthy babies!!! Way to go Mamas!!!
:heartbeat :heartbeat :heartbeat :champagne :balloons :drink :birthday: :balloons :champagne :drink :birthday: :heartbeat :heartbeat :heartbeat

Regarding using swings and all that stuff, I think it took us about a week to "adjust" our perfect parenting image and realize that we need to be well rested and happy as parents in order to be happy toward Jillian. Definitely much better than getting frustrated at her because WE'RE tired!!! Now I have so much respect for all the AP mothers that have come before me!!!

Hey Susan, I had cracked nipples, but it does get much better. Just make sure the latch is good! I haven't worn a bra yet, and airing my nipples out w/Lansinoh really helped! Hang in there! :thumb

Well, just as I was getting over cracked nipples, I started feeling really, really worn down. Eventually I was sobbing to my dh "I just can't do this anymore... I feel sore EVERYWHERE, I'm exhausted, I'm not hungry... etc." 2 hrs later my temp was 102. Turns out I had been coming down w/mastitis... wow what another hurdle!!! I don't really remember 2 days - fever went up to 104, chills, shakes, migraine, and of course one breast feeling like it was going to fall off. Antibiotics have kicked in and I feel great, just still worn down! Basically, dh and Jillian had a lot of time together, so the good side is that he's much more comfortable handling her and suddenly telling me, "no, no, she doesn't like it like that... here's what you do..." :)

I guess I should check in on the Life w/a Babe thread, but I'm anxious for those of you waiting! Let's see, Ekatherina (sorry about all your starts/stops, wish I could be more helpful, Jenny (crossing my fingers for you to birth this baby by Thursday!), Ann (I won't ask "isn't it time yet?"), momtol&a (great attitude, that you'll have a baby sometime this month! :) although very frustrating! :irked:) , and...???

Mandi- sorry about the mastitis- but glad you are on the mend. I had that once while on vacation, and it felt like the flu, it was awful. Sorry you're having to experience all the hurdles right up front like this.

I had an appointment with my midwife this afternoon and while I was there she decided to check me. I'm 2cm dilated but she could almost stretch me to 4, but my cervix would close back down again. Baby is already +1 station. No wonder why my crotch hurts! She sweeped my membranes and applied arnica oil to my cervix. And about 1/2 hr after my appt, I started having contractions. It's been 4 hrs now
and I'm still having them, now closer to 5 minutes apart(were at 7) but not very strong. I'm hoping this is the start of something...so be thinking of me and maybe my next post will be a birth announcement. :)

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! :angry

That pretty much sums up how I feel right now, minus the colorful explitives. Contractions continued and were down to 4 minutes apart and much stronger and at 12:30am I decided to lay down because my legs were getting tired from walking around the house. I was still having contractions for about another hour and a half and then I fell asleep. They've been really sporadic since then. My only one this morning was when I bent over to pick up the newspaper. Maybe it was just the baby responding to headlines. another sore spot for me, but I won't dwell on it here.

I was feeling so hopeful that babe was coming today. Now all I have are semi sore legs from squatting and a weird feeling crotch from all the "sweeping" she did.

what are my chances that my kids will be nice to each other all day, play quietly, and let mommy just lay on the couch and veg, all the while dodgine endless phone calls?!?!

I know how darn sore you are and tired. It just sucks! Soogie, I know how you feel. I'm tired of all this "pre-labor" stuff. After 3 hrs of contrax you'd think that would get something started wouldn't you??!!
I haven't even lost my mucas plug or anything...

I went to my m/w appt today hoping for a little sympathy or something and I walk in and she says it'll be quick because she has someone coming in labor and we have to hurry. I know it's stupid but I almost started to cry...I felt like hey, this was supposed to my time to vent a little...Of course, if it was me in labor I'd want her attention but we emotional overdue mamas are unstable ya know? LOL
And to top it off the person was even due today-no fair!

I kicked my in-laws out today. :eyesroll I'm starting to wonder if it has something to do with them hovering around...I practically had to shove them out the door! My MIL kept saying she was worried about leaving and I said "no really, it'll help me!" I literally gave them some travel books and a map and said see you later and drove away myself just to be away from them :innocent I feel bad but I'm a territorial person and I think that them being in my "space" is stressing me more than I thought it would. :shrug

Anyway, still frittering away the time!

Ah Soogie and Ann, I was in your shoes a week ago...the night before I went into labour I had contractions every 8 mins for two hours...so there is hope that you could wake up in labour in the middle of the night :thumb

I feel bad for those of you who are still waiting, the board has quieted down so much and it was a good distraction for me while I was waiting. :hug

Ann- WTG for kicking your inlaws out....maybe it is what you need.

So I went for my first outing today to my usual Wed. haunt...had to show him off ;) I must admitt I am not really ready to be out in public...it was really busy and I was feeling paranoid about germs....I am gonna keep hiding out for awhile at home, at least until the weekend when we are having Ember's birthday party on Sat. and Oakley's babyshower on Sun, will be pretty hard to avoid people then ;)

Still no "monumental" news here, but I did lose my mucus plug yesterday. this is the first pg where I even noticed passing it, and omg, that thing was gross! It was like a long brown slug sliding out of me. blech. Still very mucusy this morning so much so that I had to put a panty liner on. No real contractions to speak of so we're still in the holding pattern here. If no baby by Monday then I go for a biophysical profile and then will probably start on mw's herbal cocktail. And if that doesn't work, on to the dreaded castor oil. I don't want to think beyond that point yet. This is the longest I've ever cooked a babe and he/she is just waaaay to comfy in there.

Hugs to all the other mama's waiting. We haven't heard from Flitters in awhile...hopefully she's over the moon with a new babe in her arms.

awww, thanks for the wishes but i'm still here too!
just a bit late checking in.

this morning i was a bit emotional about things. things meaning no baby yet. dh was wonderful and reassuring that the baby would in fact come out soon!

i wouldn't actually find it troubling particularly, except i would be so upset to go past 42 weeks and not be able to have the homebirth as planned. ok, i'm not going to think about that. there are still lots of days between now and then. baby gets lower and lower. not sure what my cervix is up to, perhaps i'll check it later.

i wish for all of us to go into labor very soon! (today?!?)

as for the mamas still keeping a patient eye on those of us waiting to deliver, thanks! :hug i hope everyone and their new babies are doing great!

I'm just checkin in too... Soogie- everything you've described sounds like what happened to me after my mw swept my membranes- including loosing of the mucous plug the day before I went into "real" labor. I was swept on the 20th, had my baby on the evening of the 22nd. I bet it will be soon for you.

Hugs and labor vibes once again to all you mamas patiently or not so patiently waiting.

...all 7 lbs. 14 oz, 22.5 inches of him!

Mason Robert arrived on Nov. 1st at 2:16 pm. (10 days late!)
He's absolutely gorgeous and the sweetest thing we've ever seen.

Not going to do a full-on birth story, but here's the story for those of you who are curious: We went in with contractions at 5 pm every few minutes since 2 pm on Sunday evening (in a snow storm.) Of course, when they checked me, I was only 1 cm. dilated. Because of the storm, we really didn't want to go back home (we live 40 minutes away, up canyon roads) so they let us stay. I labored all night long, contractions regular, 2-3 minutes apart and really painful! By morning I was 8 cm. dilated and the dilation STOPPED (but not the contractions or the pain...) To say the least, dh and I were a mess - it was getting to the point of me not being able to "get my head around" the contractions...I was letting the tension and pain get to me even though I had been doing so well previously. I was sleeping between contractions and although that gave me rest, it made it really hard to be mentally prepared when they came on strong. Through all of this, neither the nurse or doctor even mentioned pain relief to us, as per our wishes. We did agree to a small dose of pitocin to get the dilation going again, but it didn't work...felt like one huge 20 minute contraction, but no more dilation. I demanded the pitocin be stopped at that point. Then, at a point when we were alone, in a moment I'll never forget, through his tears, dh says, "Baby, I can't stand to see you in this pain." Decision made.

The sun came up over the mountains, the anesthesiologist came in and gave me the epidural, a new, better, angel of a nurse came on shift, our regular doctor came on call (yay!) The pain disappeared, I got a bit more pitocin and we napped, watched TV, and crossed our fingers that the dilation would start. The epidural at my hospital is patient-controlled, so with a push of a button, I could manage my own dosage (obviously wouldn't let me do too much.) I kept it at a level where I could still feel the contractions, but the sharp edge of the pain was taken off. Doctor came in a checked me hours and I was still only dilated to barely 9 cm. He knew how against having a C section I was, so he said, "Let's just do this...you're baby's coming out sunny-side up!" He tried to turn him, but little Mason wasn't going anywhere. So that was it, I pushed like crazy for 2 hours, kept the epidural at a level where I could still feel where to push. Dh pulled Mason's shoulders out himself and put him on my belly. There were no tears, because that had already been done. Only joy and laughter.

The next day, when the doctor came in to check on me, he still couldn't explain why the dilation stopped, it was a mystery to him, but he did say that he truly thought I was OR-bound and told me I did an amazing job. :love

So, that's that! Sorry it got long, maybe I should have just done this on the birth story thread...Oh well. Thanks ladies for all your support through the pregnancy! I must admit that the last thing on my mind these days is spending time on the computer, but that may change as new issues arise... I'll check in over at the other thread from time to time! I'll post some photos on Yahoo for sure.

Mason says "Hi Mamas!!" :wave

(Oh, by the way, nursing and CD-ing are the BEST! So far, so good! :thumb)

Way to go! And what a great story. Enjoy your little guy.

I feel really bad about not hanging out here more often. I hope you ladies don't feel too abandonned. And I hope you all will be holding your babes very very soon. From the sounds of it, some of you may be welcoming your little ones very very soon! Good luck to all of you and wishing you a safe and healthy labour! :grouphug

Oliva Unknown ________ was born at 3:00AM. took castor oil at 4:30 pm ( 4 T) and at 6:30 (3T)Labor started at 1 AM cleaned house/picked up till about 3 layed down, 3 contractions and 3 pushes later she was born. talk about fast :jaw the assistant just walked in the door when my water broke. she barely was able to wash her hands, no time for gloves. There was no time for protection for the bed. Couldnt get my panties off and the babies head was in them next thing I know is the assistant was rubbing the baby cause she was un-responsive. Apgars scores where 6 and 10.
No tears for me this time which is wonderful as I have always torn. She was covered in vernix which mean she wasnt late like we thought and she shows no signs of over due. I had re-done my dates last night and thought that 'maybe' I could be 41 weeks insteade of 43 but still that would make her 'late' who knows! she here and in very good health

8 lbs 1oz
21 3/4 long
and head was 13 3/4

mw arrived 30 minutes afer birth and was rather stunned. Already joking that they wont make my next birth at all.

Going to bed now

wishing labors vibes for who need it

Ps I had no ill effects from castor oil at all had contractions all evening but they werent borthersome and stopped at 12:30 toataly differnat contractions than the ones that started at 1

Congratulation Erin :balloons So happy for you and your fast birth!! Welcome Olivia! :)

Nothing new to report here...same old 2-3 hrs of contrax last night that were strong, into my back and everything! Thought finally....but then they stopped...

No word from Ekaterina in a few days-hope that's a good sign!

I'm convinced I'll be the last one and alone here...wah wah-self pity is wonderful ;)

Woo Hoo! Congrats 2 more babies! Happy birthday new ones. Sorry I'm really short on time today otherwise I'd make a bigger fuss. The sentiment is there! :D :love

Hoping Ekatherina is having her lil one.

Ann- maybe go for another round of natural inducers. If you haven't tired it go for acupuncutre. I did acupuncture and castor oil in the same day and my water borke and gave birth to liam. I hope you don't have to go the pit route. UGGH that sucked! :irked:

Sending you major labor vibes Ann.

Yay!! More babies! :jumpers: :balloons congrats to Jenny and Erin!!

Ann - keep hanging in there with me. I think we'll be the only ones racing to be last! LOL! But here's hoping that this weekend will be productive for both of us.

Ekaterina has been mia so hopefully she's babymooning, so that leaves Ann, Flitters, and myself...send some labor vibes our way mama's. I'm convinced that if I keep this kid in there any longer, I will be giving birth to my own little turkey. lol! I can't possible get any bigger!

On the upside I got the most sleep last night than in months! I actually went 4 hrs without peeing LOL That's a record for me these last 9 mos! Not one contrax for the first time in many nights so maybe that means the "calm before the storm" Yah right, not getting my hopes up.
Tried some "natural inducers" this morning and that better help because I don't think that's happening again ;)
I'm starting to worry just a little about the "worst case scenerio" now that we're about a week overdue. I DO NOT want pitocin and a c-sect just scares the crap out of me. I just wish I knew what the heck was going on! I'm not obessing or anything but every once in a while the thoughts start to creep in and I say "let's get moving baby!"

Hoping someone is having some "real" labor out there!!

congratulation erin and jenny!!!

(and hopefully ekatarina too)

hi ann and soogie! :grouphug

things are going along just fine here.
had a reassuring midwife visit yesterday.
we did a non-stress test but i wasn't at all worried about that.
i know the baby is fine. super active still and i can listen to all the heart accellerations i want to at home with the fetoscope. i'm also perfectly healthy too and not even particularly uncomfortable.
she offered to check my cervix and i was curious so i'm officially 50-60% effaced and 1 cm dialated. baby's head is way low, she said she could also feel it through my cervix.

the reassuring part was that she didn't seem at all worried about my not having the baby soon. i was getting anxious because she officially only attends homebirths to 42 weeks, but she thinks i'll go before then and i got the impression that as long as i'm fine it wouldn't be a problem if i go just a bit over... we'll see, hopefully it won't matter.

Checking in to see how all you pregnant mommas are doing. Sounds like you all are hanging in there. If memory serves me right only one mom has bucked the well-cooked baby trend on our thread here, so while you three (? hoping that Ekatarina is holding her little babe right now) are the last women standing, pregnant that is, you ladies aren't alone in your feelings of just wanting to be done being pregnant. :grouphug We know what you're going through and how much the waiting sucks!

Good luck and healthy happy labour vibes to all in need!

To the last of the pregnant Mommas you hang in there. I know how tough it is and how sore you are. I know you all are ready to get these lil dumplins out. Anyday now they will be out! You soon will be feeling a 100 times better. I know it's hard to think about then when you're feeling so miserable but you're almost there! We all are hanging out with you til they come out! You're in my thoughts daily!

At least this way you all will still get notified when there's a new message...

Nothing new here, went for a nice walk today but it didn't help. My pelvic muscles are killing me though and my hips are so sore. I know they are all loosened up for the big event but enough already!

So hoping for something in the next day or so!!
