Long Beach, CA, anyone?

Hello! I used to post around here all the time and have been ridiculously busy for quite some time, but have recently started lurking again. I'm wondering if there are any like-minded mommies in the LBC area. I'm a (newly) single mom (but working on getting back together, maybe?) I'm trying to juggle 4 part-time jobs in a way that mean ds won't be in day care (and am not opposed to other moms who are using day care, just trying to avoid it as long as possible). My son turned 2 in June and we are still nursing, co-sleeping. etc., skipping/delaying some vax, but getting the majority as I travel in developing countries alot, and would like to do so with him when he's a bit older. We were planning on home-schooling, but we'll see what happens with dh and I, as I can't imagine how to juggle that on top of the single mom thing. I am a Bradley teacher, birth doula, SAT tutor, nanny, and perpetual student. I left the social work field after having ds and am currently taking pre=req's for midwifery school.
Obviously I have an incredibly busy schedule, but would love to know other mommies in the area for play-dates, park outings, etc, when time provides!

yay! I am a long beach mama looking for other moms who are likeminded parenting wise. Most of my friends do not have kids yet. I am willing to go to LA for playgroups or whatever. this is my very first time posting anything. I am kinda nervous!

Hi! Nice to meet you! Where are you at in LB? How old are your kid(s)? Etc., etc. My son is 2, and we live near Redondo and Ocean. We go to the park alot, but don't have any kids that my son plays with repeatedly, and would love to find some!

Hello to you both! Yes, we should get together for a park day or something. I'm usually off on Fridays (during the day), Sundays, and Thursday evenings. Do any of those times work for you guys?

Hi! Sorry to disappear for a while-this week has been crazy!! I really want to get together with the two of you, and anyone else who may pop up, but I've just found out that I have to work next Friday, which is usually my day off, and the following week I am going to Phoenix to get trained in hypnobirthing instruction. Mi vida loca. I am free part of next Sunday, morning time, otherwise we could plan a Friday after I return, which is like, early October!

hi long beachers! i'm actually in Redondo Beach, only 20 minutes from you (probably, anyway! i don't know long beach very well!). i just moved down here from the city in july, and have had a very hard time meeting like-minded mamas in this area. i would love to get together with some mamas and kidlings...

my daughter fiona is 2 years and 2 months, and i'm 32 and 7 months!... i've almost weaned her (we're down to one a day!)... i'm married to a lovely Scottish boy, and i'm in school for massage therapy (after being a graphic artist for 11 years).

i know Redondo Beach isn't exactly next door, but like i said... i've had such a hard time meeting other mothers down here. i think i meet someone cool, and then they end up telling me how they spank their kids or force them to eat or weaned them at 5 months or whatever.
