Morning ladies! Everything is going well here. Still SO tired, like I want to take a nap EVERY day and I'm passed out on the couch by 9pm every night LOL! Nausea is still here. Its pretty bad some days, not so bad on others, but I still have actually thrown up yet. Hugs to the mammas who have awful vomiting! Just keep thinking it will go away soon!

I rented a doppler. I know a lot of you are against dopplers, but after my losses its the only way I can keep sane. So this morning for the first time I thought I'd give it a whirl, and at 9 weeks I actually found a strong heartbeat at 143 bpm. Nice and loud too! I was VERY surprised to have even have found it, but I found it SO quick. That totally just started out my day perfectly :) My next OB appt is next weds, the 10th. I'm going in every 2 weeks for now.

Have a great day ladies!

How exciting to hear the heartbeat so early! You must be a skinny mama!! I actually bought a used doppler on ebay during my last pregnancy. My midwife thought I was insane but I needed it. I had one loss before Madelyn and I really needed it to stay sane. Beware, though. I had one day at about 26 weeks that I couldnt' find her hb and she hadn't moved in hours. I freaked out, called my mw and rushed into her office to be monitored and everything turned out to be fine, so sometimes the doppler can make you worry for no reason.

I think I'll go buy some new batteries for mine today and give it a try in a few weeks when I'm more like 10-12 weeks or so.

I embarassed to say I'm 50 lbs overweight! So this doppler must be pretty good!

I know about not relying on them... I couldn't find Elijah's heartbeat at 16 weeks. Instead of panicking I just kept checking for 3 weeks. The doppler was right, he had died, and thats why I couldn't find his little heart beating. I guess our stories are kind of opposite ;)

Hi TappinMomma, just wanted to say congrats on the heartbeat! You're just a day ahead of me and I'm going to my CNM today to hear the heartbeat... I'm kinda scrawny, so here's hoping :D I wish you well for the remainder of your pregnancy!

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that. I guess that they are good to have so that if something happens we can get to the midwife ASAP to get an "expert opinion" and reassure ourselves. 99 percent of the time, babies turn out okay. I'm sorry that you lost your son, that just breaks my heart. I know you must be so worried this time and that's perfectly understandible, just come here to vent or PM me anytime.

How wonderful that you heard the heartbeat, Sarah! After such a devastating loss such as yours, you do whatever you need to do to reassure yourself and give yourself comfort.
