There is an AP group that meets in South Austin once a month and has weekly playgroups as well.


There are 2 other AP groups in other parts of town as well as an Austin AP email list.

My dd is only 4 months, so she's a bit young for your kids :(

I'm not an Austin mommy (although I spend lots of time there), but I had to pop in here and say hi! We just left Austin to move to Houston last year, and although we love where we are now, we miss it so much! We are planning to move back in the next couple of years, and when we do, I hope I can join the group!!!

HI! I am an Austin mommy, I have a beautiful 2 year old boy. I am really interested in finding a tribe of mommies that have similar beliefs. I have heard about the AP group here and I would love to go to that too, but I get nervous about joining groups when I don't know anyone. I just emailed the contact person that Thistle mentioned. I feel VERY isolated lately and feel that my ds (13 months) needs to have more social interaction also. Anyone here been to one of these meetings/playgroups? I am a little nervous about going to a group where I don't know anyone. But I really need some other moms to talk to - being a stay-at-home mom can get so lonely!

I'm in central austin. I have 1 ds almost 3yrs old, and 1 dd 9months old. I be in to getting together possible on a sunday afternoon. (I have to work during the week until my dh finishes school - only 4 more weeks hoorah!)

i'm an austin mama and I have lots of mama friends....we're always looking for more to meet! we have a playgroup that meets every friday and will probably start meeting tuesdays at a park in addition to our usual Friday coffee/food location. in addition, i just started a mama's night out that will happen once a month. if any of you want to know where to meet up just post and i'll tell you where to go!

Please tell us! I am very interested. My son is almost 2 1/2 and loves to play with other "babies", but we don't know that many. Have yall thought about doing any support group meetings, or is it just a playgroup? Either way, I'd love to join you! (If I get up the courage that is. I'm notoriously shy when it comes to joining groups or meeting new people. An obstacle to overcome I suppose) Thanks!

I'm really interested in the play group too. Especially since I only work a half day on Fridays. Of course that means that if you meet in the morning I still can't make it. But do give me the details! Also, what is the age range in the play group?

Hi Austin mommies. Myself , my husband and our two beautiful children Trevor 4 years,and Justine 4 months are seriously thinking about moving to Austin. I love it so much and were sick of Atanta and it's smog. Anyway, I have a request out of left field ; Do any of you know of an alternative place we could rent for a week to 10 days while we check it out as a family. such as, a friendly Bed and Breakfast ,(that likes kids), a garage apt., a cool hotel with a playground, someone with kids who wants to rent out part of thier house,etc. ?????? This could be for a one time stay or work into a regular thing,because we will need to visit regularly until we establish ourselves well enough to move there. We're planning on coming in the next two months. We are also going to be looking for some great babysitting (for our 4 yr old).
