Any of you Texas moms in my neck of the woods? I have a nearly 3 year old DS, am divorced, and living in what seems to be the retirement/teenager/scream at your kids in Walmart capitol. I would really like to meet some like-minded moms to pal around with.

I live in NE Texas but I'm not sure where Lamar county is. Are you anywhere near Greenville? As for being in Walmart land, my mom says we are in the heart of Walmart country. There's one 15 minutes away in any direction! YUCK!!! I have a 6 month old dd and would love to meet some cool people around here. I've almost walked up to people when I'm out if they looked interesting and asked them if they wanted to hang out but I feel weird picking up friends in the grocery store! hehe

Paris is the county seat for Lamar County. If you are in Dallas, the easiest way to describe where Lamar County is situated is to describe landmarks. I-30 east will go thru Greenville to Hwy 24. Hwy 24 goes past TAMU-Commerce (AKA East Texas State University). Commerce is in Delta County I think, but it could still be Hunt county (?) . By staying on 24 going North about 45 minutes, you would go pass thru Cooper, then Paris. If you were to continue thru Paris going north, in about 20 minutes you would be in Oklahoma (Hugo, I think.)

Hey there, neighbors! We'd love to have you visit us if you come down to the metroplex for any reason. Come check out our calendar, hang out and chat or even just gritch about Wal-Mart at our local hangout (http://boards.nataly.org).
And ... welcome!
