View Full Version : another howdy, and due date ?
Greetings!
I just got a+ test last night so I am too happy to join you all here. This is #2, and I'm due around July 22.
Does anyone else estimate their due dates by probable ovulation/conception date?

My due date is estimated using my O date and it's July 18th.
Congratulations!!! :jumpers:

Yes, and I was right on the money according to the ultrasound I had on Tuesday.
Congratulations!! :D I was charting so I know the exact date I ovulated. I'm just counting forward 38 weeks from that date to get my EDD. I think that's about as accurate as you can get.

my edd is based on ovulation date too :D
Thanks, all!
I chart, too, but this time around didn't get to chart my temp, just my cm and cervix position. Last pregnancy, even though I knew the exact day and time of ovulation (temping), I still encountered resistance from my otherwise progressive dr. about establishing my due date based on my date of ovulation. I laid out the logical argument for her: why should we use a method based on averages of thousands of women when I could tell you when *I* ovulated? Sigh. Finally, out of lack of desire to hear me talk anymore probably, she acquiesced.
This time around I plan on working primarily with a midwife and a lot less with the dr. There's no progressive docs who get it here so I'm crossing my fingers for a good midwife.
It's so cool to see so many here from The One Thread!

Skim - we have the same "due date". I let FF calculate the date using my O day as the reference point (I was temping). I don't want to think about that "due date" too much, though, because I don't think it's very important. It's still fun that ours are the same. :D
YEAH!
Binah: Yeah! Same due dates are fun!
I agree, it's better to not focus on the due date. Last time, dd came more than a week "early", so I just use it as a guide. As in, right around the really warm weather here in the north I can be thinking about baby!
And, a good friend, who is Lakota, tells me that the elders in her tribe say that it takes 10 moons to make a baby. I like thinking about how many moons have passed, instead of trimesters or weeks. It seems like it connects me more solidly to the world, to all the other important cycles of time.
