My whole lifestyle revolves around breastfeeding my 15 month old, who takes in precious little solids per day (1 scrambled egg in the AM and 50-75g of white fish in the evenings, on average--these are the only things I can get him to eat since he insists on feeding himself with his pincher grip, and refuses to be fed soft things, and has only 4 front teeth so can't chew much). Now I find out I am pregnant, and while it's lovely to join this club :love and I do SO want another babe (we want lots of kids and I want to have them young!), I'm terribly nervous about losing my milk supply and having my son's nutrition suffer as consequence. He and I both love our nursings sessions so much (especially the 2 hour lunchtime nap he nurses through while we snooze in bed every afternoon, all cuddled up :love ) and the quality of breastmilk give me peace of mind about his little solids intake. I still have an abundant milk supply but am now looking into what I can do to naturally boost it and keep it strong. Wish me luck!!!!!
Thanks for letting me in the club!

I have no advice, just wanted to let you know I was in a similar situation. My dd is just shy of 8 months old and still nurses a lot. My LC told me to make sure I took in plenty of water and to eat a high protein diet as well as take a multivitamin. We can do it!

:love congrats mama!Yes i understand the nursing relationship so well.My daughter was 27 months old when i got pregnant with this babe and she was still nursing full time and ate very little solids still.I love, love our bonding nursing sessions. It does get painful to nurse and it will go in spurts of feeling ok and then not ok.And your milk will change in flavor and consistency. My ddd acted strangly during some feedings and other times wouldn't nurse and she would complain of the flavor. But she still nursed pretty much all of the time.I kept up my protein foods and drank mother's milk tea a few times a day.My milk supply has held up and i am 7 months along.I expect my colostrum to start coming in shortly.he bond between my dd and I is just as strong, but nursing just changes during pregnancy.I remind her my milk will be in good and strong very soon!It all works out!

Thank you so much for your story! It is really encouraging to hear. :hug
Thanks so much to rainbow moon and Nikki (I know you from the diapering forum--LOVE your username! Always makes me smile), for your support, too.... :) I think I need some newborn sized fluff to help me feel like this is 'real.' (only 24 hours since I got the BFP so it hasn't sunk in yet!)

Butterflymom CONGRATS!
I nursed my 3rd through my 4th pregnancy (she was 18m when I concieved) & it was the most wonderful experience to be able to tandem nurse. The nursing-through-the-pregnancy thing was not the easiest...but WELL WORTH the perseverance. Those 2 babies were (and still are) the closest! The biggest factors for me through that pregnancy were: water intake, extra food, and extra rest. I had to force myself to take a nap with the toddler every day...we would usually put on a movie in my bedroom, have the other kids watch, toddler & I would nurse and then sleep. It worked!
I am hoping to experience the wonder of tandem nursing again... :fingersx:

Congrats momma.
I nursed through my whole pregnancy with Josh. I drank twice the amount of water and ate oatmeal like a champ ( 2 times a day)
I would hand express to check my milk to see if it was changing and I never noticed it. I did notice a decrease around 5 months but I just offered the breast more often and hand expressed (I am not a good pumping momma, but I can hand express with the best of them)
I wish you all the luck in the world :)
Keep your mind positive and try to stay as stress free as possible (that helps too)
