Hi everybody and anybody! Wondered if anyone else was interested in starting a conversation as we go through this pregnancy "together".
MS just starting to be a little issue for me, nothing too bad yet. More food aversions than cravings at this point.
I got Pilates in Pregnancy DVD this week and can I say Wow! Now, this is my first experience with anything Pilates related but I really want something to help with stretching throughout this pregnancy. I don't like how not fit I was after delivering my ds and am hoping to make some physical changes in this pregnancy as far as staying flexible and limber, well as best I can!
Really recommend it for a nice, relaxing stretch.
I have my first and only appt with my ob tomorrow. I had a loss earlier this year and I am back and forth about this early checkup. She will do an US. I hem and haw but the m/c was missed and I didn't know for 5 weeks that the baby had stopped developing. I think I've decided the peace of mind of seeing the hb tomorrow is worth a lot for my well being. After that I'm looking for a mw as my ob no longer delivers.
How is everybody doing!

I'm pretty nauseated and tired.
I napped for 3 hours yesterday and am thinking about doing it again.
I am waiting till 10 week or so for my first appt. I know the mw socially so I can ask her questions whenever I want, she is great like that.

I'm tired and just getting over a cold/flu thing. I have my u/s appointment on the 5th to date my pregnancy. I could be due anywhere from July 27th to Aug 18th.

Thanks for starting this thread, Farmlife!
At 10 weeks this week, I'm mostly exhausted, with brief periods of nausea/food aversion mixed with occasional cravings. Sounds like a weather report, no?
I have an appointment to meet with a midwife tomorrow. I hope she's "the one", cuz shopping around is hard when there aren't a lot of midwives to choose from, kwim? I also have an appointment this week with the local maternity center to do paperwork to establish care so that I can meet the 2 local OBs in case of a hospital transfer during labor/delivery.
My schedule really picks up Next week, so I'm hoping that my exhaustion will be nearly over by week 11, so close to the end of the 1st trimester all ready?? Yikes!

Very tired too. Not much else to report, just wanted to subscribe to the thread and say hi :D

The nausea is hit or miss at this point, but the hot flashes! Yesterday we were out returning some gifts at Sears and I was ready to strip right there in the tool section. I remembering being hot, but not boiling.
Other than that, the exhaustion has hit - went to bed at 9 last night, slept until 9:30 this morning (and so did ds remarkably) and I'm looking at taking a nap this afternoon w/ds.
Oh - almost forgot - my memory is gone. Calling the refrigerator a washer and then getting mad at dh when he doesn't want to put the leftovers in the washer. You know - the WASHER. And I'm looking at and pointing at the fridge. Poor ds - he's going to be so confused. We were looking at animals today and making their sounds and I kept telling him the the frogs go "quack" and the cows go "bark." Poor kid - he's going to need therapy, I'm sure.
I go to the midwife tomorrow for her to "feel me up" to see how far along I am (could be due between July 29 and Aug 29) and if that doesn't work, I'll probably consent to the early ultrasound for dating purposes. We'll have to see.
Ok - off to the bathroom again - I don't remember peeing this much w/ds until I was 8 months, is my bladder that shot?
Oh - one more thing - are anyone else's pants getting tight? I don't know if they were always this tight or what, but the scale doesn't show any weight gain and they are REALLY uncomfortable to wear so I'm in my lounge pants already. Poor dh, I was hoping to look presentable at least until March or so. Not gonna happen.

hi august mamas! :wave I am feeling so good I can't get over how much less nauseated I am with this pg. with ds I had hyperemesis and was literally was bedridden for 2 months (and almost ended up on iv tx's). this time I just have occasional bouts of nausea and hardly any puking this time! anyway it has everyone's already guessing the babe will be a girl :LOL
anguschick-I haven't gained a lb yet (started at 129lbs) but my pants are tight and I have a very obvious belly already.

Hi all --
I'm with Amy in NH on the nausea bouts, especially if I don't eat enough in a day. It becomes a terrible cycle to break -- don't eat enough --> feel ill --> don't want to eat anything --> don't eat enough --> feel even more ill --> etc.
I also am with Anguschick1 in that my pants won't button. I was on vacation last week and lived in lounge pants, but I'm back at work today in a loose dress with tights pulled down below my belly. If I relax and stop sucking in, I think it becomes more obvious that I'm pregnant, but since we haven't made it public yet, I'm sucking in a lot. Yuck. I do NOT remember showing this early last time -- I'm also 10 weeks.
Other exciting bodily developments: holy bustline, Batman! It's verging on ridiculous!
I'm starting to get excited, though, as I near the magical 12 week mark. I go to my midwife at 13 weeks and hope to hear the heartbeat on the doppler. Once I hear it, then we'll tell my 2.5yo daughter about it, and let her tell everyone else. :)
Hope everyone else is feeling ok!

Hello~ great idea for a weekly thread...the "weather" report...
No appetite but no m/s either. I'm "forcing"myself to eat...I do get hungrier at night though and eat "heavier" things.
BR all the time...boobs sore off and on- more at night. Pants getting snug- in fact on the weekends I bum around in maternity pants!!! No panel though.
Very tired and "foggy"...
I know the early u/s made me feel better after my losses. I'm hoping the next time I go (at 12 weeks) that we can hear the heartbeat. I'm thinking of renting a doppler to use before then as I am still "paranoid" at this point.
Take care mamas!!

Oh, am I ever sick! I have been soooo sick since about week 5! I was never this bad before. I've vomited a few times, then my dr. gave me a prescription for Diclectin (specifically for morning sickness). A couple days after I began to feel remarkably better (over Christmas, which as perfect). But now (8 weeks) I'm getting progressively worse again... I'm wondering if the drug has begun to not work as well, or if the morning sickness has gotten much worse. DH asked yesterday when he's going to have a wife and mother again!
I never ever would have thought I'd use a drug to ease something so natural. But, I was going to have to take leave from my work and I had become an awful mom to ds. I couldn't function - couldn't move, couldn't eat, and when I did eat, I couldn't stomach anything remotely healthy. For a while I could eat anything, but now, I'm getting back to unhealthy eating - only because it's all I can stomach!
Well, that's enough complaining for me today! Sorry!
Hopefully you all feel significantly better than me!
Take good care,
lilgreen

Howdy, all. Just back from a week of travel, glad to be home where I don't have to worry about waking up the household when I make extra trips to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Glad to be cooking for myself again, too--not enough whole grains, veggies, or fiber this past week!
No real queasiness, but have been absurdly hungry. All day. Every day. Middle of night. Have been out-eating dh (who is 6'4") by wide margin. Know the "eating for two" isn't supposed to kick in yet... but I'm so frigging hungry! (And I guess that explains the tight pants!)
looking forward to chatting over the coming months.

First day that I'm feeling morning sickness, and it's been all day. It was also DH's first week back at work after 10 days home (figures). I'm diabetic, too, so this is NOT good. I need to eat, but everything makes me feel pukey. UGH!

I decided to go with the u/s and saw my little fruit with a steady heartbeat. No nausea for the past few days but I get bouts of super hungry and then the idea of food is just awful.
Pants are all still fine, sometimes a little tight at the end of the day. There is some extra "padding" there already though, so we'll see!
Really super excited about becoming a mommy again. Just thinking about the full moon we conceived about. Off to research some type of celebration rituals.
I really want to embrace the spiritual aspects of this pregnancy as they happen. Want to find a new way to connect with my dh as our lives are super busy caring for the 3 of us. Feeling ever deeper in love with him and with life. At the moment anyway :LOL

I'm just starting to feel nauseous. I'm hungry a lot but sometimes when I start eating I just can not continue because I feel too sick. The smell of food cooking is starting to make me feel very sick as well.
I'm extremely tired and am finding it hard to keep up with my three year old.
I'm still feeling paranoid and scared about this pregnancy because of past miscarriages but I'm taking things one day at a time and so far things are going well.

Well, don't get mad at me but, 3rd PG for me and no M/S (none with the other 2 either). I guess I am at 7 weeks so there could still be time for it to show up. :wink
Haven't been able to eat much though. I just feel like I don't get hungry anymore, and when I do eat, I only take about 4-5 bites before I feel really full.
I still need to schedule my U/S to get the correct due date (although I already know when that is! :irked:). And I need to get my vitamin prescrip filled.
Also starting to get a little freaked out about the prospect of this one being at least 3-4 weeks early, and having an amnio towards the end. (long story) I am mostly scared of the amnio, since I have heard a lot of horror stories.

Hi all :).
The bb fairy has definitely tried to visit. Thankfully for me there isn't much room. {42D since nursing DD #2}...
Not really battling ms. I get naseous at work but I've had that problem off and on since before I was pg {automotive plant. Lots of fun smells.}
And after working my tail off for six months to get into lei size sixteens again {from a 24/26 relaxed fit} the darn things won't button now. :( Oh well. :)
I FOUND MATERNITY CLOTHES I LIKE!!!!!!!! And I can afford them!!!!!!!! Yay me! And real-jeans not the kind with the panel. {am I the only one that has far worse itchies when wearing the panel kind?}
Tomorrow is my first ob appointment {8 wks 5 days} LIke I said in the other thread, I am having an ultrasound due to the problems I had earlier in this pregnancy.
Oh, and my beloved was one of the first people 'downsized' at our plant yesterday... no warning what so ever.... :( But he's already looking and life will be just fine {can you tell I've got far more faith than is probably sensible in this situation?}

Ok mamas, the hormones are really hitting me today. Today's my birthday and dh gave me Ina May's, "Guide to Childbirth" and Mothering's "Having a Baby Naturally". So I had a HUGE grin on my face and then he gave me the card....the grin turned into tears as I read it and the message he wrote inside. Then ds gave me a REALLY nice sheet set for the bed. Wait a minute, I told dh that they were the wrong size. No, he said, when we get the van paid off in May, we'll get a new bed!
Now I've posted 5 or 6 times in The Family Bed forum trying to figure out what we can do about our sleeping arrangement (we have a really tall queen bed and dh wouldn't agree to putting our mattress on the floor or getting a new bed and we've been arguing about it for the last 19 months). Anyway, because it's so important to me and will help us when the new baby comes, dh has changed his mind and agreed that we can turn in our current bed (a beautiful red oak four-poster) for credit towards a king-sized bed. I've been crying everytime I see the sheets in their package.
Then I get 2 emails from both my best friend and sil and they were so sweet and kind and loving, I cried some more.
Tonight we're going to the midwife to talk new baby talk and get "3rd party" confirmation. Can't wait!
And now, ds fell asleep while nursng on my lap and he's so angelic and sweet and beautiful I'm crying some more as I type this.
Ahhhh, life is good! :love

Feeling good today and yesterday after 2 weeks of misery. Feeling good makes me nervous though. Especially since I am 9 1/2 weeks- same time I had a M/c last year. I am going to call my Midwife next week. I want to hold off on the appt. until we can hear a heartbeat. No U/S for us unless she thinks it is necessary.
I can tell I need to be adjusted. My hips and back and hurting today!

I am also SO tired, and very easily distracted. And lots and lots of MS, and heartburn already (I don't remember much of that until the end last time, but maybe my memory is fading...) Plus the whole bladder thing -- I think the 4 1/2 hours of pushing out dd made it way too weak.
One question for those of you (most, it seems) with little ones already -- are they acting differently? I swear it almost tracks conception to the day when dd started being oh so much more clingy and --frankly-- bratty (screaming tantrums, throwing things, etc. -- we don't call it "bratty" to her, of course, just explain why we would prefer she behaves in a different way). We seem to have an outburst or two (or three sometimes) every day. Probably coincidence (she is turning three next month) but I wonder if she can sense or smell or somehow knows that, all things going as planned, her life will be changing dramatically in seven months...
Off to try to remember what I wanted to do an hour ago... :shrug

Kim,
I always say it's the terrific twos and terrible threes! It's probably just the 3s setting in - so much fun (NOT!) with the stubborn sassy obstinance. A whole new phase of testing - that classic struggle between feeling more grown up and capable, and wanting to be babied and coddled and know you will always be there as she assumes a little more independence. Also, if your feeling poorly it could be that she is mirroring you some too.
Weekly update update:
I went to WIC today to pick up vouchers and get myself added, and found that I'm anemic. Joy of joys, no wonder I'm so exhausted!! I could barely pick my butt up off the couch to get there today. Now, if only I had the energy to fix myself some iron-rich meals...

:hug chirowife. i just passed the point where baby stopped developing this spring, 5 more weeks to get past the time of m/c thinking of you
kaitnbugsmom - sorry to hear about your dh's job situation. optimistic is the way to be :thumb
and to hormonal mood swings....whoa! nelly. I can't even keep up with mine sometimes. Never mine expect dh to. He is being really supportive. We have had some time to absorb our news and he is really surprising me. Told me hey, it will be august - we can have the windows open we have a tub, let's have the baby right here! threw me for a loop so now i'm back to entertaining that notion.
really enjoying birthing from within. had not seen it before and he found it for me for christmas.
oh yea, my ds has been quite different since we conceived. it seems to mirror that moment exactly. he is all about the "boobies" and we stopped nursing about a year ago. he did this when i was pregnant in the spring. his behavior is also different. not sure if this is turning 2, me being extra tired or him sensing something is up.

I am 7 weeks and feeling horrible-constant nausea, tired and throwing up. I have had hyperemesis with all 4 of my other pregnancies so this is no surprise. I am allergic to antiemetics, so I try other stuff like Zofran, B6, adrenals, ginger, seabands, etc. All to no avail. I am miserable and having a tough time taking care of myself let alone my kids.
Also, as a midwife apprentice, this really sucks because I am going to need to take some time off, I can't work or function like this! I usually start feeling better between 16-20 weeks although I throw up to the end, just not frequently.
Hope everyone else is feeling good! I just read my post through and realize I am a real ball of sunshine at this time, huh? I will get more excited later, LOL.

Well... guess the job wasn't that big of a deal right now. My beloved was activated last night for an emergency in-state duty to help with the flooding we're having. So for at least the next three days he'll at least be earning some money...
The down side to this is, of course, that he will miss the doctor's visit today, and the ultrasound. I'm just praying that everything turns out for the best and I can tell him when he calls tonight that Bean is fine, developing on schedule, and so forth..

I swear I'm going to have to get bigger bras. Perhaps dolly parton could loan a few? Ugh...
On the up side, got an ultrasound today. They kept the good pic for my file and gave me the fuzzy one that you can't see squat in. Aren't they nice? Oh well.. Got to watch Bean moving and all that. 17 mm. length, and heart rate was "steady" and "right on target" Again, helpful aren't they?

I'm here..exausted.. the morning sickness was way worse than with either of my previous pregnancies, but a b-complex vitamin has alleviated most of it.

Things are going OK here, no m/s, just fatigue and a stubborn little UTI that I either HAVE to get rid of or take antibiotics (the very last thing I want to do). DD is super excited and, I'm sure of it, knew I was pg before we told her. She is like my mom, checking everything I eat to make sure there's no caffine, alcohol or sugar in it. Having an older kid when pg is super cool.

Ten weeks is feeling really good. I've been taking milk thistle this time around and no ms! My belly is popping out quite noticeably but the upper region is still nonexistent. My first midwife appointment is tomorrow and I can't wait. She's a dear friend, too, and I'm anxious to know how everything is going with the baby.
My 1 yr dd started behaving differently too when I conceived. She got clingy and whiny, but the dog acted differently too. My 2 1/2 yr dd is excited that mommy has a baby in her belly and is always asking "Mommy, you okay? or I got a baby in my baby, mommy?" I had to explain to her that she had to get married first, and in the meantime she could help me take care of all my babies. They have been sweet and helpful at least some of the time, which is great when I want to take a nap, etc.
There is not enough food in the house. Every hour or two I am looking for more food. I just can't eat alot in one sitting.
We'll get through this first trimester, ladies, hang in there!

Only 8 weeks here and I have MS badly. I did with the first pregnancy too. I also sleep an awful lot, whenever my little guy lies down I am right there with him. I am eating most things, but I am entering that stage of just picturing a food or hearing the name of it and feeling nauseated. That is so strange. I keep a bowl and crackers by the bed at night.
I sleep with my 1 1/2 year old too and he is still nursing at night. I am finding that I have less patience with his frequent wakenings.
My husband is being great, as always. He gets up in the morning with Coltrane and he also just does everything around the house. I am lucky.

Come on 2nd trimester!!!
