What is your naming style? Do you pick out names before you are even ttc ... while ttc ... in early pregnancy ... mid pregnancy ... late pregnancy ... or after the baby is born?

I pick out names before even thinking about ttc ... I just LOVE names! This time around, after 3 children whom dh insisted have "normal" names, dh is insisting this one not have a normal name. Go figure!

The names we have picked out this time around are:
Girl: Nym Tayen Rainbow (lastname)
(If twin girls: Tayen Rainbow and Nym Alia)

Boy: Ryu Night (lastname)
(If twin boys: Ryu Night and Thorin _______ )

What about you?

I like to look at names too. We knew dd would be dd before we were married (and she wasn't conceived until a year after we married!). We chose her middle name Carys when we were pregnant, but I don't remember at what point.

Dh is hard to decide on a name with. I like more original names and he likes more traditional ones.

If I was able to choose I'd pick Anwyn Rhiannon Louise or one of the other names on my list.

Well last time Connor kind of surprised us, so we didn't think about it before hand. Since we've been trying for a year now, we have been talking about names. We do now that this baby's middle name will be Ray for a boy or Raye for a girl, named after my dad. Connor's middle name is after Jim's dad. Both of our dad's have passed away, so this is our way of remembering them.

DH is a Junior but we didn't (well, I didn't want) a third, so using James as Connor's middle name was our compromise.

LOL...I'm using the leftover names from when I was pregnant with Bran...

A girl would be Jocelyn Lily (if twin girls, then Isabella Grace)
A boy would probably (and this may change) be Tyler William (if twin boys, then Noah Xavier)

We had Bella's name picked out while we were dating (before we broke up twice, that's how early, LOL). The boy option when we were pg was Max Emery. Now I'm not sure I like that anymore. I love Jack for a boy, but not John, and it's feels weird to me to name a boy what I think of as a nickname. My best friend begged me not to--she hates her name for that reason. Other than that we'll have to do some serious research on boy names. For a girl I love Chloe, Catherine, Grace, Claire--DH doesn't really like any of those, so we'll have some work to do there too. I came across Polly tonight (Angelina Ballerina's new baby sister) and was suddenly like, hmmmm. I don't think DH will like it, especially because the middle name would have to be Ana--yikes! But maybe, who knows. We are in the "find out the gender early" camp, so we'll have some time to discuss it.

AllyRae, I love the name Isabella Grace, and Lily was our other possible option for Bella!

DH and I started talking about names long before we ever thought of TTC. With 12 nieces and nephews we sort of had to create a "hands-off" list to keep our favorite names from being taken LOL.

A few months ago we finally decided on Elizabeth Grietje Marie for a girl, or Lucas William or Lucas Michael for a boy. But... now I'm not loving either name as much as I did before I was PG. Luckily we have lots of time to decide!

We started coming up with name combinations about 1 yr before ttc. We like traditional family names, but choosing which ones was a bit overwhelming, so, we created a spreadsheet with all the names we liked, and then started making combos. It was really fun! We picked our favorites and ranked them by perference. Of course, now that we are finally pregnant, both of us have changed our preferences. :)

We'll see. If our baby is a boy, he'll be named William Webb (3-syllable last name). If our baby is a girl, she could me Adele Cannon, Mary Fraser DeVismes(pronounced Dee-Veem), or Julia Allston.

We had their names picked before we were married (in '96)!
We were going through the alphabet on the way to sil's wedding! Hey, it was something to do!

We have our names, and came up with them this fall while TTC. I can't tell you all, though, or dh will be mad, I think. We only have 1 boy name, though, so we better not have twin boys!

I love all your names!

We had such a hard time picking Desmond's name. I actually didn't settle on it until after he was born. Dh likes to joke and suggest off-the-wall names. It's funny, but not much help. I've kind of had Greta in mind for a girl, but I imagine we'll struggle with this until the last minute just like last time.

I love picking out names. For my first pregnancy it was easy.....We like family names....so our daughter was named Mary Rose. With my second pregnancy, it was not easy. We knew we were having a boy and we could not decide on a name. Someone on another board named their son Will - we thought that was cute, but didn't want William. DH came up with Wilson Elijah. I liked it immediately and think it fits my little guy to a tee. Elijah is a family name.

This one will be Ryan Christopher if a boy. Ryan is my maiden name, Christopher is dh's name. If a girl she may be Helen ______, maybe Diane for a middle name. Helen is my grandmother that I would love to honor in this way. Diane is my mom. Who knows we may change our minds a few more times. lol

Oooohhh my favorite subject. I used to make lists upon lists when I was kid of baby names. Never really stopped. :D If this one is a boy he will probably be Logan Isiah. If a girl we are leaning towards Genevieve Rose. I know Rose will be the MN for a girl, just haven't fully decided on a first name yet...

we had a girl name picked out years ago! never thought about a boy name so when we found out we were having a boy (yes i had one ultrasound and it was to find out the sex, i just couldn't wait) was when we came up with ds's name.

if this one is a boy as well, i don't know what we'll do! because we are both so in love with our girl's name. it's clara grace and it is a name in both our families which we thought was so cool!

Glad to see that others pick out names way early, too! :D
We started our "name list" when we were in the midst of wedding planning! We had many long drives so during them, we would talk about many things and my favorite was the baby names...
We chose Avery Marie or Samuel Garland for our "first born"...and now we have Avery :)
For this one, we are leaning toward Arden Jane and are still trying to find the boy name that clicks with us...
We don't follow any type of pattern for naming, just names we have heard or read that we fell in love with...
