I got a faint test line this morning at 9 dpo. I am going to test again tomorrow to be sure. This will be baby number 3 and I am excited and scared at the same time. I am not going to tell anyone except dh until I am absolutely sure that that test was positive. lol My 4 year old dd is going to be so excited. She has been asking for a sister since October when my little niece was born. (of course, I told her that you can't choose whether it is a boy or girl. lol) My son is almost three, has developmental delays and possible autism - I am definitely concerned about how this pregnancy will affect him.

And finally,
my beloved ob is not delivering babies right now due to the cost of malpractice insurance. I am on state insurance since both dh and I are self-employed. I get to look for a new doctor. I wonder if they cover any midwives. I want a different experience this time.

Hi Angie! I'm in CT too! (Do you happen to be a member of the Friendly Forest?) First of all, CONGRATULATIONS!

About insurance: Do you have HUSKY or other insurance? I'm going to be covered under HUSKY this time around and am planning to see a midwife, Saraswathi Vedam, and have a homebirth. She is a CNM who does both homebirth and hospital birth and accepts insurance. From what friends say, she bills everything through the practice and doesn't bill homebirth any different from hospital birth, so insurance covers it. I've also heard absolutely wonderful things about her! I can also make a couple other recommendations as far as an OB/midwife practice, birth center ... feel free to pm me if you'd like!

State insurance covers midwives here in Maryland. You should definately check.
