My DH and I just started TTC #2 and I am just so scared of the same morning sickness I had with #1. I didn't vomit much, it was just such extreme, severe nausea. I couldn't work or eat, all I did was cry and dry heave. The midwife put me on Zofran finally, and it helped. I could go to work and eat, but the nausea was still bad. I am looking for some miracle cure here, should it plague me again this time. I would really like to avoid taking any drugs this time and do natural things to relieve the morning sickness. Eating crackers before getting up in the am didn't work. Neither did all that ginger stuff.

It would be one thing if it were just me that was going to be affected, but now I have ds to think about too. Poor little guy, I don't want him to just sit and watch Noggin all day for the first trimester! My MIL offered to take him to live with her while I'm sick (um, NO!) :irked:

So, what did you do? Or are you just a tougher cookie than me?

Hmmmmm. Mornign sickness? I've had all day sickness this whole time, I'm still trying to find some relief. Had a nice morning hugging the toilet. So far B6 helps if I can keep it down.

A crazy thing for me, but for a couple of my pregnancies I could drink pickle juice and it would immediately go away. But one of them it would make it waay worse, so there you go. :shrug

Ha! Morning sickness. Yes, it really is just a silly label and I've fallen into using it too. It really was all day sickness for me too. The only time I wasn't feeling like barfing was while I was asleep. So let me rephrase:

What did YOU do to relieve all-day sickness?

I had horrible MS when I was pg w/ my second. Somethings that are supposed to work (some of these worked for me):

- those sea sickness bands
- taking extra B vitamins
- eating small, high protein meals
- resting often (I was always more sick if I were tired)
- sipping lemonade or sucking on lemon hard candy

Every pg is different, so who knows, maybe this time you will not be sick..... Good Luck!

definity try B vitamins!

I had it horrible w/ ds. (hyperemesis for 2.5 months) but I had also noticed I had alot of vit b dificiency symptoms the last few months up until I got pg with #2. anyway I loaded up on B vits the cycle or two before I got pg and notice a HUGE difference this time around. I am barely nauseated and feel so great :D

Taking the B vitamins is a great idea. I have B6, which I know is good to take, but would any other B's help too?

popping a B6 right now...

It used to help me to eat something really fatty just before bed at night. Like potato chips.

Cheerios and sour candy... Worked magic for me :)

of all things... peanut butter. I think the protien and the fat combined together with the fact that its too darned sticky to puke up.

The B6 helped a little bit for me as did the sea sickness bands when things got really bad. Sometimes just sucking on a life saver would help too - don't really know why but I didn't question it when it worked. If you can hack it plenty of rest will work wonders (my toddler didn't let me do that though!).

I tried the b6 with #1 and got no relief at all. (but I didn't start taking it until about 7 weeks) this time around I used a B complex. it is a water soluble vitamin so you won't overload. you really only need to take it a few times a week to be effective from what I understand.

hope you find something that works!

Ok, here's another b-vitamin question for ya...

my prenatal (rainbow light just once) has 588% B-1, 500% B-2, 100% B-3, 600% B-6, 313% B-12 and 150% B-5. Is this as much as a B complex would give me or should I take more? It seems like a lot, but if it's ok to take, I will. I just don't want to overdo it!
