why can't I see any signature lines?

I keep seeing these posts about "I love your signature line!" or "What a great signature line!" and I go "Huh? What signature line? I don't see a signature line!" How come everyone else can see them except me?

Can you see my signature line below? Beneath the solid line you should see this:

Open your usercp and check your options. You may have set "View signatures?" to "No" when you selected your options.
