What prenatals do you take?

And what things should I look for? Last time (and when bfing ds) I have just been using generic for Stuart prenatals. I'm interested in something a little more hippie but I don't know what I'm looking for.

To prep for ttc, I took some generic prenatals for about 6 months, and when we got "really serious" about ttc, I purchased some Rainbow Light vitamins. Earthfare, a local health food store, puts their one pill prenatal pills on sale about once a quarter ..... and I stock up on the 3 month supply then. :)
I have heard people rave about Optivite's B vitamins, too.

I also take Rainbow Light Prenatals :thumb , the one a day formula. In addition I take an additional 1000mg of calcium and will talk to my OB once I pick her about other supplements I should take.

i take natrol 'my favorite prenatal'. however, they are not my favorite. they smell like a dirty aquarium. i take them at night bc all prenatals make me feel wretched.

i also take cod liver oil supplements (occasionally)

I take Twin Labs prenatals. My midwife offered to give me a prescription so that I can get prenatals using my insurance (the ones I take now are $15 a month...insurance would be cheaper)...however the Twin Labs are gluten free (I can't eat gluten), so I'll stick with those. :)

I'm not doing the prenatal route this time. they rarely sit well and I end up stopping!

I take a B-100 complex, calcim/magnesium/zinc/trace minerals pill and was on floradix (till I learned it has angelica) but am substituting Odwalla Superfood for now (it has 12mg iron, which is fine).

My midwives for the first pregnancy prescribed Primecare (I think?). It's new to the market and consists of two tablets, one you take in the morning and one at night. The first pill contains essential fatty acids, which a lot of prenatals leave out. I took these right on up to this second pregnancy as I've been nursing throughout. My midwives were kind of mEdwifey, so they must be wondering why I keep getting refills. I have an appointment next week and will see what the new midwives recommend.

I also supplement with spirulina, salmon oil (I'm double dipping because I think it's so important for brain functioning), and an occasional dessicated liver pill. I hear that organ meats are the only way to get B12. I also take echinacea two weeks on and two weeks off. I used to take chlorella, but the bottle warns pregnant women to advise doctor about it. I figure the spirulina is enough.

I'm taking Sisu "multi-expecting", because they are capsules. I was told that if you drop your vitamin in a glass of water and it doesn't dissolve into little granules within 30 minutes, it will not dissolve in your body either.

Also I was taking floradix with iron last pregnancy but it made me so nauseous, and the iron was giving me constipation. This SISU brand doesn't constipate me.

I'm also taking Nordic Naturals DHA which is fish oil, and is supposed to be the best type of fish oil to take when pregnant, it is guaranteed to be mercury free etc... you can read about it at www.nordicnaturals.com

I'm also taking Calcium Citrate.

Rainbow Light when I remember. Sometimes vitamins upset my stomach so I usually take them right before bed rather then in the day.
