View Full Version : Are you wearing your maternity stuff yet?

I have two pair of jeans that still fit. I had gained a few pounds and my other jeans were already getting tight so they definitely don't fit now.
I am trying to stay in my stretchy pants at home but they aren't that appropriate for going to the store or anywhere like that.
I did order last night some v neck black maternity shirts from Old Navy. The local stores I've checked didn't have anything black for a good price.
One other question about maternity clothes. Last time I wore one size but they were fitting a big tight so I bought two more pair with Christmas money one size up but they are so incredibly baggy. Why such a huge difference in sizes?
I wish maternity clothes could be affordable, made fairly well, and thought out a little better.

My "normal" jeans still fit, but that's probably because I've lost about 10 lbs in the past few weeks (gastro-intestinal illness for 3 days, extreme nausea, and I usually lose weight in the beginning of pregnancy)! My belly is definitely growing despite the weight loss and I know my jeans won't fit for long. This is pregnancy #6, babe #4 for me, and I should look 9 months pregnant in about a month....and I'm not joking! I looked 9 months pregnant at 12 weeks w/dd! (It doesn't help that I have plenty of extra padding to begin with! :LOL)

I'm down to only 1 pair of jeans fitting. It is crazy. My belly has popped out so fast this time. I let a cousin and a friend borrow my mat. clothes, and now need them back, but I am suspicious of telling people I'm pregnant until my 2nd trimester. I think I might have to tell them soon though. I hate mat. clothes though and it seems like you need different ones for each trimester. I am excited to be in shorts and stuff though when I'm bigger and not coats and sweaters like last time.

I'm down to 2 pairs of jeans that fit. Some of my more baggy shirts are ok, but the form fitting ones definitely show a belly. We're not planning on telling anyone until after I see the doctor, but they're going to start getting suspicious soon because I always wear jeans! If I start always showing up in sweatpants or work out pants, they might catch on.

I lost a lot of weight after ds was born, so most of my clothes were too big for me by the time I got pregnant again. Everything still fits so far. I have a feeling I'm going to get bigger faster this time, though. I jsut got my maternity clothes back from a friend when I visited her in early December. Of course, at the time I thought I wouldn't be needing them for a while because it seemed like I would never get pregnant. I didn't have much of anything that isn't wintery, though, so I'm hoping to borrow maternity clothes from the same friend who borrowed mine (she lives in LA). I'm glad it's cold now, though, so when I do start getting bigger I can where biggish sweaters and no one will be the wiser.

No! Thank god! last preg I was so excited to be pregnant I couldn't wait to go out and get some maternity stuff. I think I gained weight just so that I could go get some new clothes. This time around, I haven't gained any weight yet and I'm psyched. By the end of the 9 months I was so sick of wearing mat stuff. So this time I'm not as keen to get bigger clothes.
plus when I went at 10 weeks to get some maternity pants, the lady told me to buy the same size I usually wear. So i did, well within about 2 months they didn't fit anymore because my hips and legs got big, I ended up going up 2 sizes. So it was such a waste of money to buy those jeans.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's growing! I thought it was just my imagination that my pants were shrinking, but when I looked at my profile in the mirror, my tummy is out to my DDs! I guess it is true that with the second one, you show a lot sooner. I haven't gained any weight yet, but I'm eating anything I want -- I guess nursing and making a new baby are taking up all the extra calories.
I just bought a couple of pairs of $10 trackpants for around the house, and hopefully those will take me through to March/April, when things start to warm up around here. And then there are a bunch of baby swapmeets coming up, where I hope to find cheap summer maternity clothes. (Our first one was a June baby, so I didn't need to go through the heat of summer while pregnant, so I need a few more clothes than last time.)

No. I recently got down to a size 10 long and lean pair of jeans from the Gap and am so excited that I will wear them as long as possible. I think my belly is bigger but I can't tell and the digital camera needs batteries. Plus, all my maternity clothes are with a friend who is 3 months ahead of me.
I'm in my regular clothes still, but as soon as I get home I rip them off and have been pretty much living in my elastic waisted flannel jammies. My stomach hurts being in tighter pants. I am almost ready to pack away my jeans because the feeling of them on my belly annoys me. I found a couple of comfy gauze-like low-waisted skirts that feel great. I'm definitely popping out faster this time #3, my poor non-existant abs ;)

I am only at 5-6 weeks, but my tight-fitting dark denim jeans no longer fit. Most of my other clothes still do, but I did have to buy a new bra yesterday. My minimizers were really painful. Other than that, I am wearing my "fat clothes" I usually wore on the yucky PMS bloating days. The waistband on my chinos are definitely getting tighter. I am still exercising normally, and eating well, but little bits of padding are starting to stick. Oh, well. At least my skin has cleared up with all the hormones. :)
