Opinion please. :cd:
Which didies do you use at night? Do you change them at night? Where do you buy them around here??

Hey there MonTana Mama,

I live in Billings near Pioneer Park & grew up out in Huntley. I don't think that I have come across anybody else here from Yellowstone County. There are several from Bozeman, Missoula & the western part of the state.

I have 2 kids... Kailey who is almost 9 years & Derek who is 5 months. So far we are only cd'ing during the day. I haven't braved the nighttime YET, but I plan to use Fuzzi Bunz when I do. At night we have been using Albertson's store brand & they seem to work well for us. They have gone on sale for very cheap every couple months.

I haven't seen ANY place here in town that sells any good cds. Everybody has the basic Gerber type pf's. I have gotten most of my stash from the trading post here at MDC or from ebay. I have also ordered a couple times from Kim at the Montana Diaper Store in Bozeman. I have gotten indian pf's, & Wonderoos from her, she has been great to work with & shipping is super quick since it is so close. http://www.mtdiaperstore.com/index.php

I also wear Derek when we are out running around town, but not always. It just depends on his mood & where we are heading. Somedays, he wants his carrier/car seat & his stroller other days he insists on being worn & has a fit if we don't.

Oh my, three of us in Billings? Incredible ;) I also live around Pioneer Park. I am ashamed to say that when we moved here, I gave up on cd's :bag: We had a diaper service in Missoula, then when we moved, I tried it myself with huge failures. Anyway, nice to meet you both, and welcome back, MonTana!

I posted for the first time yesterday - in the wrong spot. I didn't realize there was a Montana spot.
I lived in Billings as a kid and again to go to college. I then moved to California where I got married and have three kids (so far).
We are trying to move back to Billings this July. We'll be there the end of May through June trying to find a job. (So let me know if you know of any good jobs :) .
I have talked to one of the LLL leaders, but I was afraid that we'd be the only attachment parents in Billings :)
Glad to see there are a few of you! I'd love to know of your great resources in Billings...

I'm wondering how MonTana, you managed to move back to the area? Where did you move from? We are having a tough time with finding a job for my hubby. We are thinking that he will probably have to change careers...
Thanks

I am an atttachment parenting, (former-) cloth diapering, home-birthing mama living in Red Lodge. I have a 9 y/o dd and a 3 y/o ds. I think there are more AP parents around here than you would think, especially in Red Lodge, I know quite a few here. There are also a small number of families interested in Waldorf here (some in Billings too). Some of us have put together a cooperative preschool--not limited to waldorf, but with waldorf influence.

As far as night diapering goes, we used fuzzi bunz....I highly recommend them! We just doubled up the diapers for night use and had very little problems with leakage. We actually had more leakage problems with disposable than with the fuzzi bunz. The only complaint about them that I can think of is that they stretch out (especially when doubling up). But still very worth the expense!! We had 3 and I washed diapers every 3rd day, which is just how long it took for the pail to fill up and the diapers to get stinky. For daytime use, I highly recommend using Bummis...Loved them!!

The only place in Billings that offers somewhat decent diapers is Magic City Kids, but even those are not very good...the velcro on those rubs the legs in my experience. I ordered most of mine online.

Nice to "meet" you all...

PS....I have a lot of used covers (including the bummis and fuzzi-bunz) and pre-fold diapers that I would like to sell...let me know if you are interested (ettamac@earthlink.net)

Just signed up today to the MDC, we have lived in Billings for the past 10 years...we live in Lockwood by the school. I have found it very frustrating to find any CD resources locally. KWIM? So i just sewed my own, :thumb . I thought it was really odd that one of our local "health food stores" sold disosables...I was like ???what???, in fact all 3 of them couldn't even point me into a direction to even find anyone that could help me, so here I am just winging it, I am so glad to see a few others here in Billings doin' the cd! thang! :thumb

Hi, I'm in Billings. Just found this site today, wish I'd found it a few years ago. :)

Anyhow, replying re: diapers. I've found them used at Moms 2 Be/Precious Seconds on 24th St W in Billings. There is a Kids Consignment Sale twice a year held at the Albedoo Shrine, sometimes there are diapers there too. The one for spring is already over, but there will be one in October I think. My MIL found a lot of diapers at garage sales in the summer.

I'm speaking of the fitted diapers, AIOs, quality diapers, not the cheapo prefolds sold in places like Target or WalMart.

Hi Qadira,
did try precious seconds and not much luck, just crappy gerbers, Kids Stuff Consignment I consign usually in the fall, missed the best days this Spring...just keeping my eyes peeled at garage sales...my stash is built up so its very functional...its quit plain really, nothin to fancy...my son is allergic to the wool otherwise I woulda been in trouble.lol
Its such a shame the size of this town there are not any better resources.
ok kids are needin' there mama.

Hi all! I'm up in Roundup here, we just moved from Billings last month! We're from CA 4 months before that, and what we're totally missing is the PRODUCE! Anyone have any experiences with the farmer's market? Vaguely heard about it, but haven't been able to check it out yet.

How bout any natural foods stores? As we only have 1 working truck, we've been doing Walmart for everything right now, but if I heard a good review of some other store I'd like to check it out. Looks like there might be something on King or Grand.

Anyone garden here? Got here too late this year to do anything, but would love suggestions!

Ooo, and if anyone needs used appliances, we just got a washer/dryer set from a place over on Moore ln (off King I think) that is AWESOME.

:)

SOOOO-who is interested in a CDing workshop and where would we do it/when would we do it? I would love to start a second hand cloth diaper store in Billings-or maybe an online one. There are so many "nice used" clean diapers out there-most would think that is such a contradiction! But most don't understand the hows/whys of CDing. Any ideas...?...?...

I have found that alot of the nice WAHM dipes really hold there value.

pm me your ideas. We could also include a "wear your baby" demo....

I'd love to stay in the loop :) I'm 4 hrs away...but come down there quite often to visit my in-laws. In fact...hubby is in Billings right now! I was just *a little* too pregnant ;) for a trip though!

Cara, there is a great co-op in Billings! I'm not sure of the name but my good friend used to be on the board there. It should be fairly easy to locate.

I'm new to MDC - pointed here by some online friends. I live in Billings, also near Pioneer Park. I think the co-op mentioned above is probably the Good Earth Market, on 10th Avenue North (between the medical corridor and Pioneer Park).

I have a 7-month old daughter, and know *nothing* about CDing! But I'd be interested to learn more....

Hearing of all these street names where I grew up.... sigh.

I love living in WV, but gosh, Pioneer Park and Lockwood and all the places I hadn't thought of in ages. I had my first "real" kiss in Pioneer Park at a Senior/West game in (ahem) 1981!
