thought I'd start a new thread for this week.
how is everyone doing? still battling morning sickness?
my belly has all of the sudden started popping out this weekend! I just can't believe it as I'm only 11 weeks! I really need to go shopping for maternity clothes..something I dread btw. :bag:

Finally feeling well enough to want to post (instead of just lurking). I've had terrible morning sickness for 5-6 weeks now, vomiting multiple times a day and no energy at all, not even to read a book! I think/hope that things are starting to turn now that I'm at 11 weeks.
Went out today to try and find some clothes that fit so I can get back to work (morning sickness has kept me away), and it really made me feel sick to be out - so I don't know if I'm ready to handle work. Couldn't find any clothes that fit either.
Guess that's about it here - not much to say when you're sick.

Yes, I am still battling MS too and I got a head cold over the weekend to add to the mix. Ugggh.
I am kind of in that phase now where I need to eat, but nothing seems right and I sit in front of the fridge and just stare at everything, wondering what I can eat.
I am pooching out too, but I don't think I need real maternity clothes for a couple weeks at least. I am wearing loose pants all around the house. I haven't been out of the house much, so I don't think I have tried my jeans, etc. on for a couple weeks now!!

I am starting to feel better. I am 9 weeks and just the last few days, I have felt like getting off the couch and eating.
It really helps to make up some ham sandwhiches ahead of time. I cut them into 1/4's and I can just grab a square and munch. I have noticed if i have stuff already cooked, it is easier to eat. Dh has helped some with the cooking.
My jeans are starting to get a little snug. I still don't seem to have gained any weight, maybe 1-2 lbs. Don't think I can break out the maternity clothes yet, but in the next month definately. This is number 2, so I think I will pop out soon.

I am sooo happy to report that I'm feeling much better!!!
That miraculous 12 week mark has caused the MS to pass, and the hunger to set in. I ate 2 huge pieces of cheery pie last night during the awards show, after a big dinner. It felt so good to enjoy food. Not too worried about maternity clothes yet, not much showing and no weight gain so far.
I'm starting to get excited about telling those we haven't told yet, I have an untrasound on Thursday and I can't wait!
How's everyone else?

I am 8 weeks now and feeling much better than I did just a week ago. I'm still dealing with queasiness and food aversions. A pp had a great idea about making up some sandwiches ahead of time. I absolutely can not stand to cook or touch raw meat or smell certain things cooking (like garlic, which I normally love). My poor kids have been eating lots of cereal!
My belly is pooching out quite a lot. I bought two pairs of maternity pants that are loose right now, but small enough that they definitely won't accomodate me in a few months! Oh, well. At least I'll be comfortable now:)
I'm looking forward to my first prenatal appt tomorrow.
Good luck everyone:)

I will be 12 weeks on Friday. No morning sickness for me. I have been feeling better overall the last 1 or so. I am hoping the food cravings kick in so I am actually hungry for something instead of just hungry with nothing sounding good.

Hi everyone! I was 11 weeks yesterday and wanted to think that the MS was getting better and then I puked last night (sigh). I'm still counting on feeling better by 12 weeks so we'll see by next sun.
Writer Mama--I can't stand garlic either! Strange b/c I used to LOVE it. Same with all forms of pork, and tomatos. Ginger ale used to be great for my nausea, but now can't stand it.
Just want to say that I'm on my laptop sitting in front of the telly watching Mr. Rogers vacuum his couch. I haven't vacuumed my couch since I got it last year. My what a slacker!

Vacuum couch? We're lucky if we manage to clear the clean laundry off it. :bag:
Was feeling great as far as pregnancy went--much less tired--but woke up today with a headache and a really deep-seated (completely unproductive) cough. Lying down, of course, makes it worse, so I'm engaging in a slight pity party today. I've heard your immune system weakens considerably during pregnancy, but I REALLY don't want to get sick!

Sandra, LOL! We were watching that same Mr. Rogers!! I was lying in bed reading Reader's digest, dd was asleep and ds was watching the vacuuming. It motivated me enough to rinse some dishes in the kitchen at least :bag: My house is such a hole, it's embarrassing.

Don't yet know how far along I am - getting an ultrasound in Feb. to find out.
I'm really really sick. I had to go for the 2nd time to get iv rehydration. I was on Phenergan but that wasn't working so now I'm on Zofran. I'm hoping this goes away by the 2nd trimester! I'm already in maternity clothes because I can't stand to have elastic touch my belly.

I love reading the "weekly thread".
I can totally relate to being hungry, but nothing really sounds good. Over the past couple of days, I've been hungrier, and most things sound tasty. Lately, my favorite thing has been frozen waffles with butter and 100% maple syrup at night. Lucky not to have m/s :innocent
I'm 11 weeks now...feeling more confident that this pregnancy is sticky. I have a doppler that I rented that I check for a heartbeat every few days. It's so reassuring to me.
My belly is very poochy, but instead of "flabby", it seems to be firming up and "forming", if that makes any sense! I have to go back to work after being in between semesters- been nice just hanging around in baggy pants and sweaters. Now I have to "look nice"- I have a few maternity pants I bought and I'm wondering if I should wear them- it makes me "show" more than just my usualy skirts and tops!!!
How's everyone else?!!!

Hi all,
This is my first post to the August due date club (due Aug 4) - after a m/c in Oct we are definitely back in business - I will be our first baby and we will be 12 weeks on Wednesday and I am desperately hoping that m/s will be over soon - I am trying to eat healthy but nothing ever sounds good and I am just tired and cranky all the time. I didn't leave the house all weekend and just went from bed to couch to bed again...
We had our first mw appt at 10 weeks and heard the heart beat - so that was very reassuring - and we are planning on telling more people including my work this week...my belly seems to be getting rounder and firmer and pants are definitely too snug to be comfortable.
I am very excited for all there is to come and I am sure I will be asking all you experienced mamas for advice and tips. Right now we have a mw I love and will be birthing in a birthing center and considering waterbirth as well...I ordered a hypnobirthing book to read - not sure if I will go in that direction or not - I have always been a bit scatterbrained and have never been able to get the hang of meditation - so not sure if hypnobirthing will be right for me...
Congrats to all and I am very happy to have some like minded mamas to be sharing this experience with...
Can't wait to show off my big belly in a bikini this summer!

Well, I am not in the "avoiding stress" mode this week, since our older dog Grayce (almost 12) had to have her leg amputated today because of bone cancer. Such a difficult decision (but the only one, since amputation and chemo should give her as much as a year, whereas just radiation would have given her 2 or so months and pain meds only a matter of weeks). It has taken my mind off m/s, though.
On the more mundane note, I am starting to panic about clothes, since only a few dresses and two pairs of pants and one suit still fit, and I am hoping not to tell folks (including students) at work (I work at a University) until 12 weeks. Trying to think creatively...

TCC'smom- Sorry to hear about your dog, I hope the operation went well. That's a very tough decision.
Also there with you on the clothes thing- haven't told my students yet, and as soon as I pull out the maternity wear, the secret will be out. Don't you wish we could all dress in pajama pants all the time! :)

Hi everyone!
I'm feeling a lot better this week (week 12) after a really yucky few months that culminated in last week's bronchitis, antibiotics, and the peak of my stomach distress. This weekend was the first where I felt I could really eat enough calories for the day. I was travelling for work (and my boss doesn't know), so hiding the pregnancy in business attire was a challenge. I ended up wearing a roomy dress with kind of wild tights that drew people's eyes down AWAY from the belly. :)
We told DD this morning and she was really excited. It was a wonderful moment. We told her she could talk to the baby inside, and she leaned over my belly and waved. Then she said, "Hi baby! No touching mommy's pupik (belly button) because she doesn't like that!" (She's right -- I hate getting poked in the navel.)
I'm going to see my midwife today for this month's checkup. Since dd has a cold, she's not going to daycare as usual, so I'll bring her with me and she can hear the heartbeat too. I think she'll like that. I'm so excited about sharing this adventure with her and dh!
Hope everyone else feels better soon. Oddly, this time I found mints really helpful with the queasiness -- specifically wintergreen tic tacs. Maybe that will help someone else.

8 weeks here :)
Still feeling pretty yucky, I puke every other day, and feel terrible most of the day and night. Been going out for little walks and this helps a bit. Ginger ale really helps some of the time (the kind with real ginger in it).
VERY tired. Looking forward to the next couple of weeks passing by!
That is all for now.

Well, I will be 10 weeks tomorrow (I think). I have an appointment on Friday to have the U/S done for dating purposes. No M/S here but I still can't seem to find a food that appeals to me.
We found out yesterday that we are pre approved for the amount we needed to be able to move!! Our house will be put on the market in Febuary and we will hopefully be out by the end of March!! YAYY!!

Just the past couple of days I've really begun to feel better and I'm only 10 weeks. With ds it was like magic - at exactly 12 wks I felt all better. Still kinda tired, but I'm able to stay awake when I put ds down at 8pm (I lie with him, so it used to be impossible), which makes dh happy.
I'm just like mama choltrane - i have great need to eat, but I have such a hard time finding something I can eat. I, too, stare at the open fridge. Most everything is revolting when I think of eating it.
And my belly is really popping, too! I can only fit into my really big pants and will have to go mat clothes shopping soon for a new pair. I didn't look like this until 4months with ds. Thankfully I know its not twins (had u/s at 6wks), or else I'd be really worried!
I sure hope ms begins to fade soon for all you sufferers!
Take good care,
lilgreen

I don't have a problem eating, just thinking about what to eat. I really want tacos!!! LOL Haven't had any, yet. Nausea has been almost non-existent really. I'm just so tired. I'm behind on all my housework. It's pitiful. And, I feel so fat! ugh!
I'm in my 10th week.
Yup, I'm still battling the m/s. Nothing works, but I do love V8 and lemon drops. I'm getting anxious, my first doc's appt is next monday, I feel like after I see him, and everything seems ok, I can start to tell ppl that I am pg, plus I will be 10 wk pg next wk, I cannot believe the first tri is almost over. I'm still tired, but it's getting a little bit better. Still BFing my 11 mo old 4X a day, supply still seems ok so far (knock on wood). I am starting to show a little, my regular pants are definitely feeling uncomfortable. So, time to wear stretchy pants.

I'm 10.5 weeks and the nausea is going away...I still have some but not as much and for not as long!
Went to our first mw appointment Monday - they are great - spent 2 hrs w/me. The mw did go a bit off when she measured me and said I was "more like 10 or 11 weeks!"...I said um, I'm 9 weeks and 6 days right now...isn't that almost 10 weeks? Otherwise though she was cool and laid back.
None of my jeans fit - I'm all about black stretchy pants and sweats, lol.
Something I've noticed...my outlook is totally different than pre-pg. I'm calmer, more patient w/DD, less fixated on stuff I used to be obsessed about, more interested in keeping the house clean and cooking. It's VERY weird but I really like it (I am SO not a house-cleaner or cook normally!).
Hungry again....must go find something!
:)

I'm nearly 10 weeks and still with bad m/s. This m/s is nothing compared to what I had with my previous two, especially my last when I had to get IV fluids regularly until I was about 15 weeks. The fact that I am only nauseated and vomiting but not dehydrated is pretty good, I guess.
I do get episodes of extreme hunger, too -- another shocker for me compared to previous pregnancies...
The only downside is that I usually lose about 15 lbs in the first 20 weeks of pg so I gain only 10-15 lbs over pre-preg weight. So far, no weight loss. But I definitely should not be complaining....

So sorry to hear about all of you with m/s. None for me, but I'm SOOOOOOOOOO tired :yawning: ALL THE TIME!
I'm at the end of eight weeks. I'm poochy in my stomach and all my shirts have gotten considerably shorter due to my stomach and the increased size of my breasts. Holy cow, batman!
We chose a mw this week and we'll have our first appt. in the coming week or so. Wish we could all go shopping together for the dreaded maternity clothes to make it at least a bit funner.
Take care everyone.

I'm 12 weeks, due august 4th. This is my first post to this particular section of the forums. I m/c back in April and it was a long road to this pregnancy, so of course I still have my worries. (Read Quinn's page if you want the full scoop).
I started showing (in my mind) about 2 weeks ago and already purchased some bigger "pregnancy" pants. I am already a plus-sized girl so the one advantage there id going to the same store and just getting the next size up in pants with an elastic waistband and being set for hopefully several months with my pants.
I had nausea for two solid months but never vomitted, so have had no problems already gaining weight (*sigh*). But the faqtigue seems unending, and sometimes worse than ever. I can barely get myself out of bed some days I am so tired, and when I do, I basically drag myself to the sofa and lay back down with my laptop (not on my lap).
SO. TIRED.
We've decided not to to any doppler or ultrasounds until the Level 2 we'll have at 21 weeks to see the heart. We just don't want to risk anything.
I've been crazy and hormonal already, and I can relate to those who said they want to eat but nothing sounds good. I alternate between that and having REALLY fickle cravings. Like I see it on TV or the net or hear it said and I want it. But then I don't, and I don't know what I want. So I have found the deli and hot food bar at Whole Foods to be my best friend. Because I am WAAAYYY too tired to cook anything.
