I'm trying to, though it is hard. I am eating lots of hard cheese, almonds, eggs, and have been craving tomato juice and soup, so eating lots of it lately. Trying to get some fruits and veges, too.
FYI, I am avoiding peanuts in all forms, though, because our pediatrician pointed us to research that shows in utero and breastmilk exposure can trigger peanut allergies in the babes. I have a good friend who has that allergy, and it is hell. I know the research on peanuts is not rock-solid yet (there was a debate in LLL shortly after the birth of my dd on this), but seems like a fair precaution. And, by the way, I am craving peanut butter and peanuts like mad, of course :Sheepish:

I'm still in the midst of nausea so NOTHING sounds good. When I eat I try to eat healthy but it doesn't always work. In general though I'm sticking to almonds, granola bars, peanut butter toast, smoothies with yummy fruit, oatmeal with dried fruit, good veggie sandwiches, black bean burritos, and pita and hummas. I have a hard time with dinners (my nausea is worse at night and I have NO energy to cook). I'll be watching to see what other people come up with!

I can relate to feeling hungry and nothing really sounds good. Lately, my appetite has picked up, but when I get hungry, I think "oh, no- what can I eat??"
Frozen waffles with lots of butter and 100% maple syrup has been my favorite snack at night. Yogurt and cheese sticks seems to go down pretty good. It's hard for me to eat meat in general, but I am trying to incorporate a little more into my diet. Chicken is gross, a potroast kind of meat is ok- in fact, we have one cooking right now. DH loves to cook :love
I really love eggs- so that's good. Bananas, a "fruit shake with some bee pollen" in the mornings... oh yeah, a handful of walnuts here and there.
I'm up for more ideas!!!

I eat alot of cereal when I am pregnant. It tastes so damn good. I usually get a Cherrio type kind and a Raisin Bran type at the store.
Right now I am also eating quesadillas during the day. I put some beans in them and cheese.
What else? Let's see..... toast, waffles, crackers, soup, juices, etc.
I was craving a burger the other day, and that went down pretty well.
With my first pregnancy I ate avocados constanly, and I am starting to feel that coming on again!!

Salt, pass the salt, please!
Popcorn, fries, olives, soups, tortilla chips, you name it. And fried mushrooms. I'm not sure if its cuz I can't taste much, or what... But the nurse said don't worry right now about it being unhealthy, my blood pressure's still low and maybe my body's telling me something.
Who knows? That's not all I'm eating, I'm TRYING to stick to healthier fruits and veggies, whole grain toast and such.
Anyone else craving salt, or am I just wacko?? :)

It's funny how something like eating can get so complex. I'm feeling much less nauseous now, so I'm back to veggies. But I was living on fruit and dry frozen waffles for awhile. I found a local organic juice company that makes a lime ginger juice that was hitting the spot. But now trying to keep the sugar and carbs to an absolute minimum. Beef is working but I think I will never eat yogurt or chicken ever again. I'm still losing a couple pounds every week or so, but I have lots to spare.
Salt!!! Yay yay yay...I was loving the salt for a few weeks. It's dying down now but I was having a definite salt craving. Olives galore!
I think the worst thing is trying to figure out what to have, since nothing sounds too appetizing. Oatmeal with walnuts has been good for breakfast, though. Cheese is becoming more exciting. For dinner, we're trying to stick with brown rice, veggies and some protein. Cucumber is working well. Stir fry has been good if we keep the onion and garlic out. I need to investigate both GDM diet and Brewer this week.
Poor DH is stuck in the kitchen more, but being a good sport. Conveniently, the smell of the open dishwasher (even when clean) is making me a bit queasy. Good baby...
I hope everyone is feeling well! Happy MLK day.

I'm hating the smell of chicken but if I can get it past my nose, it is OK on my tongue.
I'm so totally nauseous that hardly anything sounds good except burgers, Taco Bell tacos, and egg rolls. Not like I intellectually want to eat any of that.
Im just trying to put down a little at a time, a half of an apple with a slice of cheese, a piece of toast with almond butter, a half turkey sandwich.
It's not like I feel great after eating anything anyway. I try to keep my whining down to a minimum for my dh's sake. He's being patient so far, especially since I can manage to cook what he wants so far, but I think everything sounds :gross

Some of the healthier things I am eating; bananas dipped in yogurt, cottage cheese with tomatoes, eggs, cereal, olives, pickles, sunflower and pumpkin seeds...
less healthy- quesadillas, ice cream, chocolate, peanut butter and jelly and yes, salt, salt, salt! Which is crazy for me b/c I rarely ate salty things before, never added it!
I feel so much better hearing I'm not the only one!

Salt - boo.
Creamy - YES YES YES!!!
Yogurt, ice cream (bad me, B&J Cookie Dough!), peanut butter toast, PB&Js, milk, milk, milk, tomato soup with milk and cheese in it.
I've also been eating eggs almost every day (thank goodness I have low cholestorol), lots of tea, and I'm just getting into cereal, but I think that has to do with lazy+starving.
DH is cooking like a champ. Gotta love him. Last night he made mashed yukon gold potatoes, citrus chicken, and I was in charge of the spinach salad. He got called a rock star by me for being so great. Of course, I ate a bowl of cereal 3 hours later (yes, just before bed) because I was starving.
I'm totally getting some cottage cheese & tomatoes at the store today - YUM! Thanks for the ideas, girls!

Frozen blueberries! I've been putting them in everything--yogurt, cottage cheese, kefir smoothies. I've been big into protein and dairy in the mornings (eggs, cottage cheese, etc.), and have also been throwing a little ground flax seed in my oatmeal or cereal.
DH and I made a triple batch of brown rice with chard and sauteed peanuts (with ginger, a little baked tofu, cilantro, etc) and I lived off that for a couple days--I just couldn't get enough of it.
Oh, and hummus and pita, toast with PB, cheese toast, apple with PB have been my snacks of choice.
Now that I've made myself hungry, off to hunt down a snack. Love the ideas!

Well, as with DS, I'm unable to eat ANY vegetables at all, including mushrooms, green beans and olives. Tomatoes I can tolerate a bit, but then they're a fruit, so. . .
I gave up on the lower carbs thing because that's about all I can handle. Here's what I **can** eat right now.
Cheese
Yogurt
Cereal w/ Milk
Cheese
Eggs
Turkey
Bread
More cheese
P-butter & Jelly
Crackers
Did I mention Cheese?
Fruit
Pasta
Rice
WHole grains (quinoa is great)
Oh, and CHEESE
Blech.
