View Full Version : finished a waldorf doll and did some sewing!
Boy was that FUN!
This doll has sat unfinished for MONTHS and to move the process along I changed her from a mermaid to a starbaby...I know cheap shot, but I had the sweetest fairy fabric to use and I had already given her long blond hair. It was so nice together with a bit of cotton lace and silk to tie the hair.
That was fun, but what was even more fun was making the matching blanket and using the machine to do some circular shapes in the quilting of the doll blankie. I dont' know if that is technically embroidery, but I would have a blast doing more with that!
This was for a swap, and I hope she likes it! Now I am anxious for MORE crafting!
It felt good to get back to it :)

Good job finishing up that doll! Any pics? My unfinished waldorf doll is 4 years old, lol.
I made my daughter a skirt from one of my old t-shirts the other night, I really miss sewing as often as I like. I have been making up for not sewing by purchasing lots of fabric though!
That sounds fun! I have been really good the past 2 years about not buying new fabrics...just using what I Have, but now I am down to scraps (granted a TON of scraps)
I have to get my camera charged for pictures :)

Hi there! I was wondering if you used a pattern for the Waldorf doll, and if so, where you got it. I am interested in making one for my daughter.
I am teaching myself to sew, and am making a cute little outfit for my son right now. In fact, I better turn off the computer and get to it...
I don't use a pattern anymore, but I put one up in the subforum under dollmaking here

It has pictures and basic instructions.
I made this doll into a starbaby by cutting a simple star shape of fabric for the body. I did give it a full head of hair!
Okay, got the pictures :)

I didn't use a pattern for this one...just kind of winged it!

Great-I love it :thumb
I like how you did her hair too. Maybe I can attempt one of those someday ;)
