My dd has had the flu for 6-days now. We just found out today that it is flu. She may even have a pneumonia now and sinus infection. I'm hoping she is on the mend.

The other thing is that I am 6-7 weeks pregnant and I think I may be coming down with it. What do I do? Anything I can do to prevent, lessen the symptoms?

Please help...oI don't know what to do!

What about fever if I get it? I don't normally treat dd's, but should I treat mine, especially since I am pregnant?

Thank you.

I'd call Whole Foods in Cary and see what they recommend to take while pregnant.

Gobs of Vitamin C, certainly. Emergen-C if you can. Im not sure if you can take oscillococcinum while pregnant, though. But someone working in the herbal area of Whole Foods would have access to a guide of herbs that are safe to take, and Im sure other mamas will give you a pretty comprehensive list on this thread.

You should really only take sudafed, tylenol, and plain robitussin while pregnant, but there will be times when it is necessary to take other medications.

Fresh garlic! It's nature's antibiotic! My family swears by it and so do I.

add fresh garlic to food, or if you hate the taste, punch a few slits in a clove and swallow like a pill.

You definitely have to treat the fever when you're pregnant. Tylenol is preferred. I just went through this 2 weeks ago (at 5 weeks pg). I did not want to take medication but the midwives told me the risk of fever was worse for the baby. Just keep drinking lots of fluids, rest, vit C, and make sure you check for fever if you don't feel right. Take care, hope that helps!
