Looking for natural alternatives for a sealant. I'm finishing some furniture and in the past I've always used polyurethane, which I'm thinking is not too healthy for children or the environment. I bought some beeswax at IKEA, but it doesn't really say if it functions as a sealant. I also saw tungsten oil as a sealant at Lowe's but didn't get it. I do want to seal it.

Hope this is the right forum...I contemplated the crafts forum but I wasn't sure if it fit there.

Any ideas?
