I'm Jennifer and I'm 31 and due with my second child. My dd is almost 3.5 yrs old and we wanted a pretty big spacing between kids and that's what we got! We will be moving this month to the Seattle area and I'm really excited about that.
No major symptoms yet except a stuffy nose and sensitive nipples. With my last pg, I was really sick for almost 4 months so I'm hoping to avoid that this time. :thumb

I am Erin, I am 25. This is my third child. Ds1 is 5 and ds2 turns 3 in May. This will put a 3.5 year age gap between the youngest. A little closer than we liked but it's a nice surprise. Dh is in the USAF and right now we live in Panama City Florida. I am a sahm.

As far as symptoms go I never really had morning sickness but I have been very nausiated the past couple of days, I have to pee all the time and I have heartburn too.

My name is Kristina. I'm 31 and remarried for almost 4 years. I have 2 little girls, Aidyn 8yrs and Maison 6yrs, from my previous marriage. I have Jordyn 3yrs and Jonathan 2 yrs and am pregnant with our last. :thumb

I have always wanted to be an AP mom, but had little support with my first two children. Luckily my husband and his family were and are very supportive of my AP choices. I have also taken it upon myself to learn about every aspect of child rearing and the pros and cons of all "techniques" and "styles". I've had the most luck with the "follow my heart and trust my instincts" style and found by accident it matched the AP style. :)

I breastfeed, cosleep, no spank, no CIO, selective vax and am thinking of CDing this time.

I am a nurse by trade and a SAHM by choice. My husband owns a building company. We live in CT. We have a doggy named Nani, an adopted border collie. My hobbies are sewing, baking, knitting and Flylady. :D I look forward to sharing this experience with you all!!

Hi everyone. :) I'm 26 years old and pregnant with #2. My precious girl is 11 months old, and #2 is a bit of a surprise - we were planning to wait a couple years! Oops. :innocent Kind of bad timing, we are living with DH's mom right now while he finishes school, but by the time #2 gets here we should *hopefully* have our own place.

I'm a WAHM, and completely in love with my first babe. And it may sound so awful, but I can't imagine loving anyone this much. I'm so afraid of not feeling the same way about this coming baby, or that some of the love I feel for my Alliecat is going to go away. :bag:

Phew! Nice to get that off my chest... I hope I'm not the only one who feels this way! I'm still nursing DD1 and hope that will continue without problems. That's all for now!

Hi all :wave. I'm Jenn, 25yo (will be on 3/20 at least :wink) and pg w/ baby#2. I'm a SAHM to DS who is 10.5mo. DH and I want as many kids as my body can handle giving birth to :innocent and we want them close together (I'm the oldest of soon to be 5 kids, my mom is 7mo. pg w/ another little bro for me :love). I :love being a SAHM and can't wait to have more babes.

Let's see, how am I feeling lately? I don't have sensitive nipples yet (I'm nursing DS, looking forward to possibly tandem nursing :thumb). I've noticed quite a bit of heartburn, but no morning sickness, I was sick for the 1st 14wks. w/ DS.

I'm really looking forward to this due date club, I didn't do this w/ babe#1 cuz I was working and I think it'll be fun to share all our fears, questions, symptoms, etc :D

I can relate the feelings about loving subsequent children as much as your first. I remember leaving for my induction and my firstborn was sleeping quietly in her bed. She was 23 mos old and had NO idea how her life was about to change. I thought about how unfair it was for us to chose to do this to her and CRIED the whole way to the hospital. :(

But Maison was such a joy and Aidyn never remembers what life was like without her. They are *very* close and were loving up until a few months ago (almost 9 and almost 7, they are starting to get on each other's nerves!) As you've heard before, your love doesn't divide, it multiplies. As it does too, I never knew my heart had such a capacity for love but I love ALL my kids fiercly and just as strong! Believe it or not!! :love

Kristina,
That was beautiful and I was planning on saying something similar. Maybe its all these pregnancy hormones but it gave me tears in my eyes. I am a little worried about my youngest. He is a big mamas boy (he's sleeping in my arms right now). He gets jealous if I hold other babies. I hope that by talking to him lots about it and keeping him very involved I won't have too much jealousy issues.
Oh and I love the name soggygranolamom. I am excited to be involved in a birth board too, I went to a different more mainstream website with my last and hated it and didn't stay very long, but I know I will love it here.

Soggygranolamomma,
We moved out west from Connecticut about 2 years ago. We lived in southern Fairfield county. It seems like you guys have had truly awful winters these past two years - have you been in the thick of all the snow?

Thank you for that Kristina! Brought tears to my eyes, as well. And I know that I will love both of my babes so much, but I can't help but feel the loss of it just being me and my DD. I only found out I was pregnant a couple days ago, so it's all still sinking it. I am beginning to get excited. I was about to have a garage sale to sell all of DD's things she's grown out of - thank goodness I haven't yet! :LOL

I've also never done a due date club and hope to get to know everybody!

We have been PUMMELED by snow this year. It's good though because my husband plows!! :D Lotsa moola. He is a builder and his income tends to slow down in the winter. The plowing helps keep us in the black! :thumb

Due date clubs have been my LIFESAVER!! I didn't have one with Jonathan, just a more general board and it wasn't as much fun. I am still in contact with people from my list for Jordyn (we've been together 4 years!) and I was on one with Maison and still see one of the women I met through that board. We did gift exchanges, sent flowers, organized help and food for local women, it is terrific!! :D

I am a little sketchy about the fact that people can be "guests" and "lurk" on this board. I just have to have faith that freaks would find a better place for fodder than a mothering commune board!! :LOL

I usually have done yahoo groups in the past. Anyway, I'm here for the duration!! You guys all seem really great so far!

Hi I'm Libby and I am 26 (on 3/24). This is #2 for me. DS is almost 9 months old and I'm glad to be having them close (Dh was convinced because our really cheap/high quality health insurance is running out next feb. and i told him it would be much more practical to have #2 before then). I would like as many kids as possible but DH is resiatant. BUT, it started out he wanted just 2 and then we were planning #2 and I told him, well, i could be happy with just 2. And he said, well, um, maybe we should wait and see. I mean, we might want another. Haha. So, I'm hoping for a gaggle eventually. I will hopefully be starting medical school when my kids are 3 and 1.5, so #3 and beyond will have to wait a few years. But at least I will be able to afford my gaggle once I'm a doctor.

I co-sleep (DH not a fan but too bad for him), no CIO, cloth diaper (fuzzi bunz), am a SAHM but take a night class and volunteer a couple places. I feed DS soy formula due to his metabollic disorder (galactosemia). He also has an "unkown syndrome" which is mainly microcephaly (small head/small brain). They say he will have severe delays but so far he has NONE. i hate doctors (most of them). I saw an awful OB practice with my last pregnancy and I am seeing my sister's CNM practice this time. I would love to do homebirth but can't because of baby's predisposition to various health problems. I'd love to try water birth. I was given pitocin last time and am NOT letting that happen this time.

interests: writing, history, politics/activism, baking, eating, writing really long posts-sorry! :blah

Gee, I get to be the elder in this group! I'm 37 years old. My beautiful girl will be 5 in April. It took me over 3 years to get pregnant. I had given up last October -- of course -- and went through a pretty dark depression! So this is a very pleasant surprise!

We live in Central Asia. It will be interesting to be pregnant here. I'll head back to Paris somewhere around the 7th month or so. I have a slot at the most natural-friendly clinic in Paris.

Hi, I'm Stacey. 28 years old, mother of 1 dd who is 14 months old. This new baby has me still a little shocked - we really weren't trying. But I'm starting to come around to the idea of two kids close together :)

DD is still nursing, and I really hope I can be laid back about it. My mom told me yesterday on the phone that I shouldn't wean her early though (yay for my mom!). And I think I'm just being hormornal.

Looking forward to getting to know all of you!

Hi, I'm Anne and I'm 27. DH and I have been married for nearly two years, and were trying to concieve for 18 months before we finally managed to get a BFP. This is my first pregnancy and will be our first child, so I guess I'll be the one asking all the stupid questions! That's okay, I have lots of practice :).

DH and I are both graduate students -I'm in Law School and he's studying Biochemistry- so we're still trying to sort out what we're going to do about the mid-term arrival! We actually weren't trying this month, since I'd just started acupuncture and TCM so this November thing is kind of a suprize. Still, I'm sure all you ladies will be wonderful enough to make up for the shock!

Hi Mamas.
I'm Heather, I'm 33 and expecting #2. I have one DD age 23 months, and she is still nursing. I had one ppaf and then conceived-- we were pleasantly surprised! I don't have any symptoms really other than needing to pee and being a bit tired. Does going through withdrawl of my daily beer count as a symptom?? I think I need to get Odouls NA to help me adust to the change.

We cd (working on potty learning with a goal of all day dryness by summer time!)and try for a natural family life, follow some ap principles... We live in rural midwest in a state that outlaws midwives. My husband might take a temp job overseas so that will make my pregnancy and delivery interesting, if it happens.

I am glad to meet other expectant mamas!

Hi, I'm Melanie. I'm 25 and am pregnant with my first. My husband and I have been together for 10 (!) years, married for just over 4. He's a writer (his first book is coming out next month) and works part-time for the university, I'm a maternity nurse. I'll have to do some "unlearning" to be a pregnant mama I think- forgetting and setting aside some of the nursing/medical side of things.

This baby is very planned and wanted, but we're still very mind-blown that it is actually happening! Lots of plans to be made, still. I'm looking forward to meeting you all! :)

Gee, I get to be the elder in this group! I'm 37 years old.

Bump - not anymore :D I'm 38, will be a month shy of 39 when I deliver my 2nd child. My son is 10 years old, kind of a last minute decision to try to have one more. LOL

I'm due around 11/13, 11/15, or 11/16 depending on which method you look at. Like you can narrow down a birth to a day... :eyesroll

This will be a VBAC (fx) and I'm using a Medwife, so we'll see how that goes.
We're not super AP, but learning more everyday. :thumb I will be CD, while leaving disposables when baby stays with DP. I breastfed my son and plan to do the same with this one. I was also a SAHM the 1st year w/son, but will probably only be able to stay at home 3-6 mos this time. We'll be delay vaxing and NO CIRC if a boy.

We have been trying two cycles, and got pg with donor sperm using IUI this time.

hmmmm Interests - working on my truck, watching medical shows on Discovery Health, and doing stuff together.

Looking forward to learning and 'growing' *tee hee* with you all.

Hello Everyone, I am 26 years old. My husband and I have been together 10 years, married for 1.5 years. We have 1 black lab and 2 cats. So, this baby will be our first human baby! We are very excited. I am a first grade teacher and my husband is a physist. We live in Massachusetts. I'm glad to be talking to other women due in Nov.

My first question is: Did anyone get cramping around the time of their expected period? I did and it was pretty painful, it is all gone now. I didn't have any bleeding so I think that is a good sign?

Hi lovely and luscious preggy mammas!!! :dust
My name is Monique and I am 24 years old. My husband and I have known each other for 3 1/2 years and have been married since 9/02. Found out I was pg with #1 six months later, suffered a miserable, sick, overwhelming, depressing pregnancy with no one to talk to, had a homebirth with a hands-off (thank you!) laymidwife. Had lots of postpartum depression issues because I was so overwhelmed with being a new mom and still being in grad school and having gained about 14 sizes (lost all but about 12 pounds of it due to bfing)! That's all better now as my therapist, bless her, has helped me check back into life and find my groove again, so to speak. I am a chiropractic student about to graduate... in 17 days to be exact!!!
Very pro AP, but am still wondering how it all works in real life... just taking it a day at a time and reading lots of good books. We didn't circumcise, don't vaccinate, do cloth diaper, and try to be organic, natural, earthy and crunchy :LOL .
I am with you Zack419 on the still bfing and hoping to tandem. Willem will be 21 months when the new baby arrives. We think she'll be a girl and her name will be Serene. But we'll see. We thought Willem was going to be a girl too.
How I found out? We had actually been talking about working up the dough for the second bun as we approached Willem's birthday (which was also when my period was due) and then I never got a period. My husband muscle tested me (he's a chiropractor too) and I tested positive both ways. The pregnancy test (drug store) said I wasn't pregnant, but then again it took almost a half hour for the second line to show up with#1 and I was almost 10 weeks when I took it. I am waiting to miss my second period to take a test again but it's kind of pointless... I know my body and I know I am pregnant. Guess I just want the picture for the scrapbook. Oh yeah... love to scrapbook. I started when Willem was 3 months old and though I still haven't gotten past his first four months, I am totally hooked. Okay, enough introductions. I really try hard to write short but it never happens. :blush

Like you, Ann (Belleweather, right) DH and I are in grad school (in Chicago) and this is our first. So I will have lots of questions, too.

I'm Julia, 28. Cant' wait for the months ahead. It's all so exciting. One thing we've been doing now is thinking about how to get cheap baby stuff. We have a small apartment and it seems like all we do is get rid of stuff. Well meaning people give you these things (like when you get married) and then we have boxes of it crowding us. So, we really want to just get the bare essentials for baby and not go overboard. I went to a baby shower recently and the mom-to-be got so many different things including giant plastic rockers and the like. Not only do I find those things ugly, I'm not really into hooking my baby up to something electrical, and if I did have them it would take up our whole place. So, we're trying to get that message out to family without hurting anyone's feelings.

Look forward to getting to know you all over the next 9 months!

My pregnant friend and I are smack dab in the middle of a crib set for her baby boy who is due in 10 wks or less. Any other sewin' mama's here?

i guess i should say "hi". ive been lurking in here since the nov. due date club started but didnt know for sure that i was :belly till yesterday. its still sinking in. im super excited but also a bit scared. its a really intense time in my life. my grandmother is dying and my partner and i aren't together anymore. ill be moving april. 1st into a house with my sister.. and i know that none of my family is going to be supportive of me having this baby. its hard when you dont have family supporting you. i was scared to post on here, just incase someone happens to read it and pass on the info, but im going to be happy for myself and for my little family. its something to celebrate, not hide.

my son is 2 and still nursing. i always wanted two kids 3 years apart and it looks like its going to happen just as i wished. my body has been wanting to get pregnant since my son was about 6 months old.. now he is 2 years and 2 months. it seems perfect!

i hope that we all have happy, healthy pregnancies!

Hello everyone :) I'm Kristina 26 dh is Kyle 41 and we have a 3 year old nursling Annette. It looks like I am due around November 15, but I expect to go early again. We live in south Louisiana near where dh grew up and far far away from Michigan where I grew up and all my family is. I had a m/c last August and I will probably be worried all through the 1st trimester this time because of it. Oh and I am in need of some good pregnancy books. I bought the What to Expect book last time and all of those are just horrid! I lucked out and also bought the Sears birth book and loved it! I am a wahm and love to sew which works out well. I am still working on convincing dh that if we have a boy this time we won't circ, but in the end I know I will win that one :LOL

I love the Sears series of books. The Pregnancy Book, The Birth Book, and The Breastfeeding Book are all wonderful.

I haven't had but one day of cramping so far, but I have had spotting, twice after sex. Bright red too, but I called the midwife and she wasn't concerned. It stops after a couple hours. I think it's positional :wink and as long as we don't "do" that position, we are fine. :LOL I have had a couple chemical pregnancies and am always nervous in the beginning. You are in good company!!

I'm almost 30 and have a 5 year old daughter, started TTC a month ago and here we are! I am nervous because the first pregnancy didn't go well at ALL and so that's why we waited so long for another (we were close to thinking she would be an only). I am hoping for a natural homebirth this time.

I am a SAHM mostly, but sometimes have a secret double agent life as a librarian (weekends and evenings). Shh! ;)

Oh wow, I was just looking on-line yesterday at patterns for crib sets! The made sets are SOOOOO expensive in the stores! We're letting my son design the nursery, and so far he hasn't found anything he really likes for bedding. So I'm hoping if I make it myself it will expand the possible designs.

I'm also excited that I found instructions for a sling. :D I have some instructions for diapers, but I'm still a little nervous about trying to take that on.

May be hitting you up for tips...I'm a very novice sewer, mostly (okay entirely) self taught.

Hi! I mainly post in the diapering board and didn't even think about looking for a due date club on this board till now. :) I'm due on Nov. 13th *I think* We have had 4 m/c in the last 1.5 years so I'm just hoping this one is a sticky baby. :) So far the blood tests have been great, doubling like they should so I hope that keeps up.

We have a little girl who will be 2 next month.. sniff sniff... Have been married for 3.5 years and I'm a SAHM.

Hi! I am 32yo, expecting #2 (EDD 11/15). We have been TTC for 9 months and it has been very frustrating - DS was conceived on the first try. Maybe *someone* was trying to teach me patience...

My DS just turned 4. I had originally wanted a 4 year spacing between kids, but it looks like we will be closer to 5. DS was a very high needs baby and toddler, so earlier spacing was out of the question. :D

Currently I work FT, was a SAHM for 6 months and before that worked PT. I plan to SAHM again after #2 is born, and am hoping to go PT soon. But I'm not sure what would be harder - dealing with an officeful of coworkers or a DEMANDING 4yo while being nauseous and tired? It's a toss up.

I enjoy sewing and scrapbooking when I have time. Birth is my other passion. After an intervention filled birth with DS, I am excited to be planning a homebirth. I was a doula before I went back to work FT and still help out with our birth network. Now i am just trying to figure out the best way to have a healthy pregnancy, since I didn't really care with my first.

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to being a part of a due date club on a board like mothering. I don't think I could sit quietly with all the talk of unneccessary inductions and interventions that are so prevalent on other boards. Its nice to be pregnant with a group of informed mommies!

Hi everyone! Nice to meet you all. My name is Meagen, I'm 28, and expecting #2 on Nov. 1st. I feel pretty sure that I'll deliver in Nov, as Molly (#1) was 9 days late! Molly is almost 2 1/2, so she and zygote will be 3 years apart. I'm excited, and very sick! It seems like with this one, I got sick about 3 weeks sooner than the first time, so I will be relieved to find out it's only one in there. Twins are all over in both of our families! Hi - I just found out a couple days ago that we are expecting #3. My oldest will have just turned 3 when this baby is born and then my second will turn 2 in Dec. So, I am excited but also feeling a little overwhelmed with the thought of having 3 little ones. This will also be my 2nd VBAC (I hope!) I will be having a hospital birth since I don't feel comfortable having a HBAC - (we would plan a HB I think if I hadn't had a c-sect) but I had a very fast labor with DS #2 (less than 4 hours from start to finish. I arrived at the hospital at 8 cent dilated!). So I think DH will prepare a little just in case we don't make it to the hospital in time. Well, looking forward to getting to know you all.

I am Sarah, 23, and married to my super DH Ben, for 1.5 years. I am a midwifery student and a doula, and my DH is a Tech guy. I am a crazy knitter, and it is magnified by the fact that I work at a yarn store! This baby will be covered in wool, good thing this bean is due in late November. We don't plan to find out the gender, so there will be a lot of gender neutral knits!

We are expecting our first ( :fingersx: that the wee one sticks!!!) on Thanksgiving day, and we are thrilled and I am super nervous. It seems like everything I know as a birth professional has flown out of my head because it is my body. We hope to have a MW assisted Homebirth.

I can't wait to get to know all of you and share this experience with you! And hopefully get some sage advice from you experienced Mommas.

Hello All you lovely Mammas....

I am Beth, I am 26 and this is my third little bundle. I am from Australia originally, as is my husband who I have been with for 8 years and married for 6 years. I became a mum to my daughter who is 4 in Brooklyn (hence the tag). We now live in London UK and have a son who will be 2 at the end of June.

At first I wasn't sure that I wanted to have another baby, this is very UN-planned but now I realise that this baby has chosen us and we are going to welcome him/her into our family. DS was born at home

All free here on the public heath system...god save the queen!

So we will be trying for HB again, we still do and will be CD and B'feeding and cosleeping. DS is still B'feeding and I am not worried about weening him just yet, though I am not sure I want to tandem feed.

DD was vacinated because our ped was a bully, DS has had none but may get a select few...would love to learn more about it from some of you crunchy mum's....

Lovely to get to know you all and can't wait to be pregnant and give birth with you all.....

Hello Everyone!

I am Brandy, 27, married to Kirk for almost 6 years.
We have 3 children, Sydney is 5, Addison is 3 (4 in July) and Kiera is 2. Kiera is also my nursling.
Kiera was a homebirth, waterbirth baby with a midwife and this baby will be born at home too, although there will be no midwife. I wanted to hire a midwife again, but it wasn't possible, so we will go it alone!
I am a SAHM, run a webstore and sell for a home party plan company and I am a doula too! Sounds like a lot, but I do it very part-time.
I hope to get to know you all really well!

About me . . .

I'm 33, and this is my first pregnancy! I am a "TTC Onethread" graduate and am excited to be here with some of my friends from over there, and to meet everyone else over here!! We conceived after 4 months of trying, only 3 of them well-timed, so it appears that I'm more fertile than I thought I was!! :LOL DH and I have been together for about 2 1/2 years, and have been married for the majority of that! (2 years on July 1) I am optimistic and very excited but am keeping the news pretty quiet for now IRL. I am wanting to let it sink in more, and get a little further along before I share the news! (We've told my sister, one of my best friends, and our exchange student 'cause she's living with us and is going to figure it out anyway.) Plus the midwife, but I'm not really counting her in the total number!

I am hoping to be a SAHM but need to figure out how we'll afford to make this happen. Right now I work full time and my current position is not very flexible at all, so I will need to find different work either full or part time. I'm kind of worried about work/finances right now.

Like sarahcecile, I'm also a midwife, although I'm not practicing midwifery currently, and I am also unable to apply sound midwifery logic to myself!! :) On the other hand, I AM taking lots of the good nutrition/hydration/rest/exercise advice I've doled out to pregnant ladies over the years, so that's a good thing! :)

Keeping my fingers crossed for a happy and healthy 35 more weeks and looking forward to getting to know all of you!!

Can I join in? I'm a longtime lurker, but now I have a "reason" to join in....both DH and I are 29 (I'm soon to turn 30! Ack!)...and this will be our first babe...

it's 6w4d today and I'm still in somewhat of a daze...it's so odd walking around, being normal, when, well, things just aren't anymore!! :LOL

I feel......surprisingly good, really...just sore breasts and always thirsty...I'm worried about morning sickness since I have such a sensitive stomach (hafta take children's chewable vitamins because regular ones make me pukey, can't eat fried food, etc.)...But so far, so good!

close friends and immediate family know....I have a well-intentioned MIL who has been stopping strangers on the street to tell them she is going to be a mom-mom. :eyesroll yeesh. :LOL

Oh, another :knit here, too....I should get started on some soakers and wool pants...been kind of in a knitting funk for a few months. Maybe now I'll get geared up again....

enough rambling....looking forward to sharing with my fellow November mamas!

I can't believe I am here!! I am so awe struck.

I tested positive only yesterday (& have since followed up with THREE more tests, just to be sure, heehee!). My amazing partner & I only decided during this past month to TTC. I knew I was super fertile, but wow, I am still shocked & excited. It happened so fast! Although, if you had asked me 3 days ago, I would've said "maaan this waiting for a positive pg test is taking FOR-EVAH!"

I'm 31, I live in Oakland, Ca with my super awesome partner. We had planned originally to be patient & wait to ttc until we were married, but our patience just didn't hold up! Haha. We are both sooOO excited. I had these silly thoughts about worrying about how our families may judge us for being unmarried, & assume our beloved pregnancy/baby was unwanted or something. We talked through that though, & are elated!!

I have a 13 yr old dd & a 6 yr old ds. I've been vegetarian for 11 yrs & vegan for 3 mos. I've been absorbing a lot of info about vegan pregnancy lately. I've recently taught myself to sew & plan on sewing lots of baby goodies. I love reading, I wish I could read for hours every single day. We go to Burning Man. I have dreads & piercings & such weird things. ;) I work PT as the childcare provider for a day care co-op in Berkeley & I LOVE my job. I haven't officially told all my co-op families that I'm pg but they will be excited. My mom is sooo happy. My plan so far is to work for 6 more mos or so, then do the sahm thing but with babysitting here & there. I had my own day care for several years before I moved in with that mr. dream boat of mine. We've homeschooled for 4 yrs. I've always done the cd/no circ./ap/happy hippy mama thing. :p This time I won't be finding out the gender before birth! I'm so excited about that.

I'm also excited to get to know you all more, & to whine about our symptoms & dream about our birthing days together!!!

Congratulations all of you newly pregnant mamas!! :surprise:

Hello! :wave
It's so good to be back on MDC in a due-date club! Like s-kristin and Sarah, I miscarried last August and was under the impression that I was TTC since around September of last year. Come to find out, I still had POC in my uterus until it passed on 1/3/05 (I didn't have a D&C in August), so those 4 months on the roller-coaster were totally pointless! Happily, though, DH and I conceived on our first try this time, as we did with the first pregnancy. Man, are we fertile!

I am 31, a doctoral student about to finished with coursework (HOORAY!) and DH is a logistics consultant and getting his MBA. The timing for this baby is perfect for us; I'll be done with classes in May, and then we'll be traveling this summer to lots of fun places like Florida, Texas, and Hawaii (for three weeks!). I take qualifying exams in August, and then I am FREEEEEEEE until the baby is born! I plan to be a SAHM for at least a couple of years before I get too serious about writing my dissertation.

I just learned to knit and I'm becoming obsessed with it! I want to try to make something special for the babe since it will be coming in the cold midwestern winter. Oh, I'm due on Thanksgiving day! I coulnd't have hoped for a more appropriate due date. :love

Belly blessings to all, and I look forward to spending the next few months getting to know y'all!

Hi, ladies! Can I join you?

I got my BFP yesterday! We, too, got pregnant first time trying with DS - who's now almost 10 months - and this baby, who's due November 27th. I went 2 weeks early with DS, so I'm expecting to go anytime during November. My birthday is Nov 15th, though, and it would be an awesome birthday present to have a baby!

I'm a SAHM, mostly - I teach a preschool science class one afternoon a week. DH works from home, as we run a web design business together. I love that we're both home all day every day with DS.

I look forward to getting to know you all!

Hi all! I am Jen, 31 and mom to an "almost" 1 year old. He will be one on 3/28. DH and I decided to be open to life for #2 last month. There were a lot of factors in that decision, one of them being that to conceive DS we had to see and RE and have an IUI. So we really didn't expect much, but to my surprise here I am!

I sew cloth diapers, and DH runs a mortgage business with his brother. This will be our last little one, so I am excited. Not to be pregnant so much though, it was not fun the last time! So far I feel pretty good though, not too tired, slightly nauseous when I'm hungry, and a slight backache. That and today I suddenly can't zip my pants!

We live in GA close to Athens & love to hike. We also have a houseload of 4 legged babies in house that consist of 3 cats, 1 Italian Greyhound & our recent addition is a beta fish.

Nice to meet you guys & its nice to have a group of women to share the next 9 months with :)

Hi- I'm Helen, another Brit and I'm pregnant with my 3rd. My first two boys (different dad, long story) were both born at home as well- my other half and I have only been married since early January, and we're incredibly excited- it's the first time I've ever intended to get pregnant, or even known about the early weeks of pregnancy. I work part-time whilst my kids are at school (my eldest is 6, my youngest is 4, but there's only 21 months between them) in retail, and had planned to go back to uni in September to retrain as a midwife- though this is, I think, going to have to wait a year. In addition to the two boys, we have a gorgeous tabby cat, who spends most of her day asleep on my bed, and an absolutely MAD English Springer Spaniel. We live in Essex, and my big things are cooking, sleeping, reading, sewing and playing piano and saxophone- I love sailing and hillwalking as well, but get less opportunities to do them.

Hello!

What a big group we have going already!

I'm Mary, mom to my 27 month old ds, married 11 years. I had a miscarriage (blighted ovum) in Nov. at 12 weeks, so that was a big blow. I am so excited to be pg again, and just found out yesterday- I am thinking very positively as I hope the odds are on my side this time! I had the most easy, uneventful pregnancy and birth (birth center) with ds so hopefully I'll have the same this time!

We are a relatively crunchy/AP family...let's see what we do...vegetarian, earth-friendly disposables, babywearing, breastfeeding, avoid doctors like the plague (LOL), no cio, gentle discipline...

I'm feeling a little nauseas until about noon every day, yet starving all the time! My boobs are sore, and I'm exhausted. I had minimal symptoms with the m/c baby, so I'm hoping that this means this baby will stick!

Belleweather- I was a TTC thread lurker and remember you from there- Congratulations!! So glad that the acupunture worked- I was going to try that if I didn't get pg soon.

Libby- my son has developmental delays, too- we haven't found any specific 'syndrome' yet, but he's had genetic testing a few times and we're waiting on the next round of results.

BensMom- I kwym about high needs!!!! We waited a while to try for #2 because I couldn't fathom taking care of another child in addition to him! Even now I am pretty worried about how it will go. I am hoping that even though it might be a couple tough months or years, in the end it will smooth out and they will be close siblings!

hiya! i'm so excited to be able to join the pg forums. :D my name is heather, but everyone calls me joanne (looooong story) and i am 23, married to dh marky and this little one will be number three for us. we weren't trying, but i had one ppaf and then... :+ i just confirmed it with the doc today and i've been jumping up and down since this afternoon. :bgbounce my other two are micah and jonah, both 18 months old, still nursing away... we are slinging, CDing, no vax, no circ, planning on homeschooling and living as simply and naturally as possible. i'm a SAHM, a knitter, sewer and general crafter so i was really glad to see other mamas already planning on making wee things for the new babes! i've been really lucky so far- no nausea, no tenderness... just starving, thirsty as heck and my pants i worked so hard to wear again suddenly don't fit! :rolleyes my first pg was pretty crazy as i was really sick in the beginning, so i'm hoping this one goes a little bit more smoothly (and that this baby is flying solo! although, i love having twins and wouldn't mind another set.) anyway, it's really nice to meet you all and i look forward to getting to know you all better during the upcoming months. :shy

Hi! I am Emilie 24-SAH mom to 21 month old ds Keagan- who is the sweetest kindest hearted person in the world- seriously..... and wife to Jeremy.
We have been married since 12/28/02
I too am a little surpirsed by this pg and had wanted to wait a little while longer but at the same time totally thrilled to welcome a new little one to love!
WE birthed in hospital last time and plan to homebirth/waterbirth this time.
We also plan to cd this one.
My husband works out of town the majority of the time- so this pg will be much different for me since last one he worked from home and was always there for me! WE do travel with him from time to time!
Luckily I have met a great friend from these boards who lives in this town( we just moved here 7 months ago) and she promises to support me and help out!
I look forward to taking pg yoga and other things that were not available to me in the old country town where we used to live.
So far I am feeling ok- just a little low on energy- but no morning sickness- nor with #1.
I have hyperthyroidism- tho I have been off meds for about 3 months so I fear losing this baby a bit... but want to enjoy every minute of this pg and will!
Good luck to you mamas too! I am excited to be here- and look forward to sharing about our pg's!
With love!
Emilie

I've been lurking here for the past three days and about an hour ago I got a :+ I've been temping, so I 'kind' of knew (I'm a bit of a slacker with recording all that stuff) We were planning on waiting a while to TTC, but obviously didn't try to prevent too hard ;)

dh and I are proud parents to Ana, who will be 3 and half next month. The new one is due at the end of November. We're both turning 27 this year.

I'm really excited and happy to see so many of you here! I found MDC towards the end of my pregnancy with Ana, and never participated in a 'due date club'

My name is Jacqulyn. I am married to Shane who is a college and young married pastor. I have a beautiful 9.5 mth old daughter and will be expecting this one on my birthday, November 20th! That is interesting because I was born just two days before my mother's birthday. Silly.

Anyway, we are totaly excited. We wanted them very close together and it seems we might just be the most fertile couple alive. Both babies took just two weeks each. We are blessed.

I am still nursing Annalee and intend to at least for another few months. We cloth diaper, which I :love , make our own baby food, sling, and generally are a little crunchy.

We will be having this one in the hospital with the same Midwife who delivered our first. I too live in the rural midwest and do not have the homebirth option, which is ok with me because I had a very large hemmorage with the last one and would not be comfortable having this one at home.

I am a WHAM balancing two jobs: web design and wedding coordination. I love my work, my husband, my daughter and our friends. It seems everyday is better than the last. So, things are good.

I followed a Mothering due date club last time and it is very exciting to share these experiences with each other. Can't wait to watch everyone "grow".

Hi, just wanted to chime in...hope I'm not too late. I'm always late! :LOL

I am Rebekah, mama to Austin who will be 3 in May, and wife to Heath. We live in E. Tennessee and have been ttc since October.

Austin's birth was quick, short and sweet and drugfree-and in a hospital. We are looking forward to the Birth Center here, as I have heard nothing but rave reviews.

I'm sorry, i forgot the mama's name who had the blighted ovum-would you mind sharing some more about that? That is the thing that I am so scared of seeing when I go see the Midwives in May. They don't need to see me until then unless I have a problem, so I'm just praying that everything is normal.

I had a lot of fun supporting and being supported on The One Thread and I am really looking forward to getting to know al of you mamas in the same light! :love

Hi all! Just adding my intro to the list. I love due date clubs! I'm still on the one that was started for my now 15 month old. We've just moved from the Pregnant, to "Live With a Babe", and now to the "Toddlers" boards! :LOL I have two girls, a 4 year old and a 15.5 month old.

I'm 31 and am pregnant with our third. DH and I are both thrilled. And so is my older daughter (the little one doesn't get it yet). She keeps smiling and saying to me, "There's a new baby in your tummy?" She's such a great big sister, I'm looking forward to seeing all three together!

I just found out last week. I'll be 6 weeks on Wednesday, and am due on November 30th.

My first was a c-section. My second was a wonderful homebirth. It was such a healing experience, but it was tarnished by the fact that dd2 did not do well in the beginning. She didn't nurse well, and was losing lots of weight. It was finally discovered (how it was missed is a whole other story :angry ) that she had a cleft palate. I ended up pumping exclusively for a year for her, so she could have breastmilk. Once we found a way to feed her, she did beautifully, and I'm happy to say that she's a happy, healthy, mischievous toddler! :love

So, I've started the search for a care provider. I am interviewing several midwives late this week. But I'm finding that my list is limited by people that are willing to do VBAC's, let alone HBACs! So, it has been a little slow and frustrating.

Oh, I am living in Northern Chicago suberbs, so we enjoyed our first really, really nice day of the year today!

hello! I am (almost) 29 y.o. and VERY happily pregnant for the 1st time (!). I parent a 7 y.o. son (since he was 5) and have always longed to be pregnant/give birth/etc. to "my own." My partner (female) and I have been trying to get pregnant by alternative insemination. We are thrilled it worked this time (3rd time's the charm)!

I have not told my parents, yet, as my baby will be biracial (I'm white and used an African-American donor), and I know they don't/won't understand (even though my partner is black).

We practice AP with our 7 y.o., although we aren't able to find much written about it past toddler age. We co-sleep, for the most part; he sleeps in his bed as well as ours. We plan to get a queen- or king-sized bed before the "new addition." Should be interesting!

We live in (conservative) Ohio but live in a very diverse city and are fortunate to know a lot of lesbian couples with children. So, we hope to surround ourselves with supportive people. I am hoping to connect here as well. My best friend has a 9-mo.-old daughter, and almost exclusively uses her MDC due date group to communicate with. She has learned/gained so much from it, and I'm excited about the potential.

So far I've experienced a little bit of nausea (mostly I just feel icky a good portion of each day) and some slight headaches (more than caffeine withdrawal, i think, since that was two weeks ago). I also occasionally experience some heartburn, although it is located more in my stomach.

I am vegan (5+ years) and plan to remain vegan throughout my pregnancy, although I had one moment of panic about this around four weeks. (I am six weeks along.) I'm due November 20. But we know the date we conceived, so it's likely a little earlier.

Very happy to be pregnant and to connect with all of you.

I'm Ashe, 23, happy single mom to 2 beautiful boys and one little surprise due November 20th. My older son will be 6 on the 21st and my younger is 18 months and still nursing at bedtime and all day on the weekends. I work full time out of the home, though I wish I didn't have to. :(
So far, I just have morning sickness ALL FRIGGEN DAY and I couldn't possibly sleep enough. I am so tired!

Hi, I've been lurking for awhile (here, and at the Homebirth forums), and felt it was finally time to join in. :)

My name is Susan, and I just turned 34. My DH is Neil, 41. I've been pg two times before: First time as a surrogate for my sister (unfortunately, the surrogacy attempts didn't work out--but sis is a foster mom now, and loving it). Second time was this past fall/winter. Sadly, the pg ended in miscarriage (blighted ovum) on DH's birthday, of all days (1/12/06). Luckily for us, conception is easy--each attempt has been successful on the first try. Of course, stickiness is a different matter, and I'm praying this little one stays with me.

My EDD is 11/18 (one day before our anniversary :) ) I'd like to be a SAHM, but as the primary breadwinner, I'll have to go back to work after my unpaid ( :irked: ) maternity leave. My company's policy is basically, "You're lucky the law prevents us from firing you--enjoy your salary-free three months away from the office." On the up side, DH works from home as an author/consultant/trainer, so he'll be a SAHD, with backup from my mom, who lives just 10 minutes away. I'm so happy he/she will be getting lots of love from Dad & Grandma from 9-5. :love I intend to bf, and will have to pump while at work--fortunately, I've got a decent-size office with a door. :D

We're planning a home waterbirth (DH and two out of his three siblings were born at home in the UK), and will be using the midwife we began seeing with our first pg. We also plan to cloth diaper as necessary (DH ambitiously intends to practice infant potty training with this baby--we'll see how that works out. :innocent )

So far, I'm feeling pretty good. Symptoms were a little slower to hit this time around, but I now have the expected bigger, tender breasts. Very mild morning sickness, which is fine with me, as last time I experienced pretty severe nausea 24/7. That is, until I found a wonderfully effective homeopathic remedy that relieved it. I'm using the same stuff to curtail the nausea this time around, and it's working like a charm.

We won't be telling family/friends until after we visit the mw at 12 wks or so and (fingers crossed) hear the hb. The only people who know right now are two friends of mine, one of whom is my co-worker/assistant, and due eight weeks before I am!

I'm so glad to have found these forums--mainstream sites just don't seem to address my concerns at all. This is a real sanctuary, and I look forward to comparing notes/experiences with everyone here.

Healthy pregnancies to all!

Susan

I just was so happy to have found this discussion board that I jumped right into the conversation and neglected to properly introduce myself. Please forgive the tardiness.

My name is Teresa, I am 27, and this is my second pregnancy. My first was four years ago and ended in a miscarriage at 7 1/2 weeks. It was especially tough since it was a "surprise" pregnancy and my then boyfriend (now husband) did not feel we should try again for a couple of years. I felt like I was cheated out of my one shot to have a baby. I think because of that, in some ways I am not thinking of what's in my tummy as a "baby" yet -- I think when I hear a heartbeat and pass the 12-week mark, I'll feel a bit better about it. Meanwhile I am really loving this being pregnant business.

We're planning a home birth with a midwife, although I'm pretty nutty about having people in my house (I obsess over the messiness, loudness of the dogs, overall clutter, etc.), so we'll see how I hold up with that idea for the next 7 months.

I've enjoyed reading the thoughts of others for the past few days, and am looking forward to comparing notes through November!

My name is Amy. Maybe you already guessed that. It's only my screen name. And I'm 28 years old. You might have guessed that too. Just kidding. I have one daughter- Alyssa- 18 mos. I am a SAHM. I am VERY EXCITED to be pregnant again. We wanted our children to be close in age. So the timing is perfect. Except for being due the day after Thanksgiving. But children are a gift from GOD, so I am not complaining. My first pregnancy was a breeze... I loved being pregnant. This one is kicking my butt so far. Hopefully it will get easier as time goes on. I am very lucky to be at home where I can relax in my PJ's all day. This is my first time joining an online chat. I am enjoing all of the info so far.

I'm new to Fl (by way of Philly & NJ) and have only been here a year. We're here solo so being a SAHM to my 2 peapods has been a challenge with a DH who works non-stop. Right now I'm HSing PS/PreK my 4yo wonderful little boy (Cam) who is somewhere on the autistic spectrum. We're doing behavior mod twice a week in Orlando then I took on the role of Homeschooling mama since pulling him from preschool. Our 1 yo DD will be 2 on Fri (4/15). They bring us so much joy! I hope a 3rd will only triple the fun!
We've done 2 natural vag births with a MW back in NJ, delivering in a hospital. I'm done with hospitals at this point in my life (LOL, I'm also a RN) so we're *hoping* for a homebirth this time.
After the events of my DS my DD has been raised very naturally and was CD'd and not vax'd. We are AP parents. Same goes for this baby. DS had severe severe severe reflux so sadly we stopped BFing a few months in. DD weaned herself at about 10 mos (she's very independent, she just PT'd herself for the most part!!). I'm hoping to BF a lot longer this time.

I'm so grateful to have found this forum. I've been a Mothering reader since 2001 but have never dabbled in the forums. How wonderful to find you all! I look forward to sharing our pregnancies!!!

Just trying to get through all the posts and now I can post myself here!

I'm Erica, an almost-32 yr old WOHM expecting #2 around Thanksgiving. DS Sam was born 12/29/01 and is just a wonderful little man and we are excited to have this family grow!

We live in NYC. I work at a very mainstream parenting publication which pretty much goes against everything we do as parents - cloth diapers (Sam potty trained easily at around 2 yrs), extended bf (he self weaned around 2.5 yrs), co sleeping (he just moved into his big boy bed, but still in our room), and not vegetarians but pretty much as organic as we can be. So I'm the odd woman out around here, but that is ok by me.

I just need to get over all the hormonal neurosis I have right now so I can believe that this is really happening. We've basically been trying on and off since last April, but really since around October, so since it had been so easy with #1, this feels like it was a long time coming and I want everything to be perfect.

I definitely feel way sicker when I am at the office than I do at home.

Happy spring! Look forward to getting to know everyone.

Erica, mom to Sam (3.25 yrs) and thanksgivin turkey edd 11/23/05

Wellllll, I guess I'll sign the guest book now. I'm 8 weeks pregnant with our second, due last week of Nov. (who was it called theirs the Thanksgiving Turkey? that's funny! My first thought when I calculated the due date was "guess I won't be the one cooking Thanksgiving dinner this year"). I'll be 35 this month, been married for almost 17 years (yes, you read that correctly), we live in N. CA, our son is 5 1/2, I'm a SAHM, hubby works from home (which is good because it's long hours), into just about the whole laundry list of natural living issues. Planning another homebirth. I'm feeling green around the gills most of the time, I have to nibble all day long to keep the nausea at bay, nights and mornings aren't much fun. I'm sure I've gained weight (don't know how much, I don't keep a scale around the house), my middle is thicker and pooching out, probably partly from the constant nibbling combined with the hormones telling my body to pack it on - I was average weight before, and lost very easily after my son was born, but I'm "showing" much earlier this time even if it's not baby bulge, just plain ol' pudge. I probably won't have time to post much, but I've been lurking.

Hi I am Nadene, I'm 35 in May, and this is my third pregnancy. My first one ended with my daughter dying shortly after birth due to being born at 24 1/2 weeks because of my pre-eclampsia and HELLP sydrome. Unfortunately the doctors said that if I had stayed pregnant even one more week, I would have died also. Little Mary Rose was just too premature to survive for more than an hour. That was July of 2003. Last OCtober I found out I was pregnant and that same week I miscarried. I was really scared becasue I wasn't really ready to get pregnant yet. It was kind of an oops. We got pregnant in February, the first time we actually tried on purpose. I am due Nov. 18th, but the baby will be taken by c-section around the 4th. If I stay pregnant that long.

I work full time at an insurance company as an Underwriting assistant and I go to school full time, graduating in May, for my bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts. My dh is 44 in May and he is an attorney. He is also a 40 year juvenile diabetic and totally blind.

So far everything looks good health wise. My bp's are good, my liver is good and the baby looks good. I have already had 2 dr's appointment's, 5 blood draws, 2 ultrasounds and a 24 hour urine. Unfortunately, my pregnancy is going to be very medical and very monitored. I am in a way, very jealous of you mommas who get to homebirth and have your first visit in May and just feel certain that you will bring this baby home. I will be living vicariously through you. I am sad that I will never get the birth I have desired for so long, but I am also cautiously optimistic that I might bring a baby home this time. Only God knows what is in store for me this time.

Hey all!

I'm Jen, I'm 22, married to George, also 22. I start grad school in June and currently run a daycare for a business here in Eugene, Oregon (I watch the employees' kids during the day), he works/slaves for Radio Shack, just long enough to get enough sales experience that a bank will hire him to be a financial assistant or something of that sort.

After miscarriage number 2 on February 14 of this year, I left the October 2005 Due Date club thinking it would be a while before I was back here. Well, imagine my surprise when, 56 days after my miscarriage, I took an HPT in the bathroom at work and it came up positive! We'd only had sex 3 times since the miscarriage, and hadn't had sex for a MONTH before that positive test, so I'm somewhere between 4 & 8 weeks gestation...I'm pretty sure I'm 6-7 weeks (well, the midwife would say 8-9 because of the "gestation + 2 weeks" standard they use), and things are going better this time than either other time. I'm taking progesterone supplements (let's give a :clap for pills in the vagina!), and my HCG quants came back ~58,000 on Friday (from Wednesday's draw...I had another draw on Friday & those results will be in on Monday...fingers crossed!).

If things go well, and my calculations are on, I'll be due sometime in late November.

Hope you're all doing well, and taking care of yourselves. I'm trying to drink as much water as possible & dealing with this hypersensitive sense of smell...

one son, Elias who was born in Dec 2003. I am expecting my little girl (hehe) on November 10, 2005.
I am 21, I live in southern california, and I LOVE sewing and scrapbooking.

I'm not due in December, I don't think I could sew to save my life, and my scrapbook consists of a file I throw things in, but I DO live in southern California!!! :D AP group links in sig.

I have two boys and sometimes daydream about a girl. And then I daydream about *three boys*... LOL ... of course, I'd love them all either way ...

Hi, I'm the mother of 3 boys and expecting our fourth baby at the end of Nov.

I'm new to the concept of AP, but many of the things we have always done (by instinct).

We are so many in this club, but I look forward to reading all your posts, and get inspired. :)

I've posted a little in some other threads, but I guess I should introduce myself here. I have a 2 yr old daughter, and I'm very happy about being pregnant again. (Well, about having another baby, anyway. I don't actually enjoy pregnancy all that much.)

It took IVF to get me pregnant the first time, but I was 40 when that happened, so I didn't know if I'd ever be able to have another baby. Then I got pregnant naturally this year. My first present on the morning of my 43rd birthday was a positive pregnancy test!

My symptoms have been a little milder this time, so my guess is that I'm having a boy. It will be interesting to see if I'm right.
