I have heartburn like crazy, but thanks to tums I am not worried about my calcium intake. :)
I have terrible nausia already which I didn't have with either of my boys.
My boobs are tingly but not sore which is nice
And I have to pee all the time
I am not feeling super tired like I normally do so maybe I swaped the nausia for the tiredness, I can only hope.

I am wiped out beyond belief. If I wasn't PG I'd think I had the flu or mono or something...
No nausea - no m/s with PG 1 either (knock on wood).
Lots of peeing.
Uterine twinges.
Lots of (TMI sorry) yellow CM - that mucus plug is starting strong..

Thus far I have had:
~ Tingly/sore breasts
~ Metallic taste in my mouth (I'm sucking on a piece of ginger candy as I type)
~ Uterine twinges
~ Hesitant around food. I don't feel sick, but I'm very careful to avoid anything that might make me sick
Last pg I had baaaaad m/s that started around 6 weeks and I'm hoping like crazy that I don't have it this time around. I was also very tired last pg and I've been feeling fine with this one.
* terrible nausea (I'm not a vomiter, but wish I were)
* very sore breasts
* feel drugged most days
* peed three times during the night last night
* tummy's protruding already

My DH thinks I'm making symptoms up because it's so early!
But I'm very soooo tired and incredibly ravenous. No nausea, luckily, I didn't get any kind of morning sickness with my first. I feel like my tummy is already sticking out, too. And I had just bought a new wardrobe. :LOL
I think my milk is drying up. :(
I forgot to mention the thirst. I feel so thirsty all the time that it actually makes me feel ill (hands start to shake). I'm drinking about 1 1/2 liters of water/day, plus around 1/2 liter of fresh juice.

I second the bad heartburn... I haven't been able to eat anything like normally for two days. Dinner last night was five pretzels, a handful of DH's fries, half a sandwitch and like fifteen tums. And the worst thing is I went shopping right befoer we found out, so I bought all these non-tummy-friendly treats, like fresh artichokes and extra-garlicky pasta sauce that are taunting me from the fridge!
I'm also spending about half my day running to the bathroom. I think we're going to have to redecorate it, since I'm spending SO much time in there, and it's a really ugly room. :)
Extra sex drive :bag:
Seriously.
I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. But nothing- no nausea, sore breasts, nothing.

Wow, this has been a long 3 weeks. Since I conceived about 3 weeks ago, but now know that I am considered to be in my "5th" week since there are those two weeks that count that I wasn't actually pregnant. I'm sure that's old news to most here, but it was new to me, being that Feb. was the first time I had ever TTC, and this is my first time being pregnant. So, I've known for a little less that one week. When the symptoms started I felt like I was, but didn't want to get my hopes up too high, what I had was/is:
~Aversion to coffee (maybe the 1st symptom)
~weird sensations in lower abdomin
~increase in breast size, they hurt a little, not a ton
~my hormonal headaches (mild migraines) are back, I had been doing pretty well with those
~feeling wiped out but not sleepy
~hungry!
Yesterday I got a UTI, what a joy. I took a lot of cranberry extract and drank tons of water. I was sure that's what it was even though I've only had one before, it felt exactly the same, and came on suddenly, and my urine was so cloudy. I went to student health today since my insurance coverage for my maternity doctor group doesn't start for a few weeks. I didn't have any leucocytes in the urine, she thought I did a good job of flushing it all out with the water and the cranberry. so I go back in two days for another test, while continuing on water and cranberry. she wants to avoid antibiotics in possible.
I wonder what other symptoms I have to look forward to!!

Symptoms?
people telling me that I'm glowing,
that I'm showing (already!!!),
a little spacieness,
totally forgetting simple and stupid things (like showing up to class last thursday at 7 am... and I haven't classes on Thursdays since December!!! what makes it worse is that I went home and came back for my 8 o'clock... duh, it's thursday and I DON"T HAVE CLASS... I laughed myself to the car), being very thirsty (remember Parismaman that our bodies are increasing our blood volume by 50% so that's where all the water is going),
ravenously hungry... literally feel like I'm eating all the time,
up every morning for my classic 2 and 4 am pee and snack,
slight nausea when my blood sugar is low... but other than that... LOVING THAT I'M PREGNANT!!! :love :love :love
Oh yeah, extra sex drive... with #1 I told my honey that I finally knew what it was like to have one!!!
And kelly12, since no one else has answered you, IT'S TOTALLY NORMAL to have cramping when you were supposed to have your period. I did the first time around for a couple of months. Midwife said it was fine but to watch for blood. Take a nice deep breath... Your body knows how to grow this baby! ;)

i dont think i was letting myself feel the symptoms before yesterday. i wasnt 100% sure i was pregnant. when i was pregnant with my son i had horrible morning sickness, so far nothing, but this morning i felt a bit off. ive been having insomnia. last night i cleaned my room at 11:30. life is chaotic because im getting ready to move, but i have a hard time sleeping in a messy room. i had a bad headache all day yesterday, but i dunno if it was from being pregnant or other things. i have beenpeeing a lot and tired in the day, naping when i can, but when night comes, bam. im no longer tired. anyone else have this? i lie awake thinking about babies and diapers and small hands and labour. i notice that my son is cuddlier with me, maybe because my milk is already less than before. i dont really expect my milk to stay since my son is over 2 and my milk supply has been pretty small lately, but i dont doubt that he will still nurse through this pregnancy if i can handle it. so far a have no breast tenderness.. my belly is a bit tender.
but generally i feel great! i love being pregnant!

I have practically no symptoms and sometimes doubt that I'm actually pregnant. Except for the positive pregnancy tests and the missed period, I would not know.
The only thing is nipples are a teensy bit sore, that's it!

i have beenpeeing a lot and tired in the day, naping when i can, but when night comes, bam. im no longer tired. anyone else have this? i lie awake thinking about babies and diapers and small hands and labour.
With my first pg I had bad insomnia. I would be dead tired by 8pm, fall asleep andthen be up just as dh was going to bed around, say, midnight. Then I would toss and turn till 4am and doze off for some restless sleep. Then I'd be up early the next day and I would be sooooo tired and the cycle would start all over again. Dunno why this happened. I think it was because I was not emotionally at peace and totally overwhelmed with the fact that I was going to have a baby... yeah he wasn't planned and neither of us really felt ready to be responsible for another life. I spent the first two months of my pg partying (I didn't know I was pg). Then I spent the next 8 months (yes I was pg 10 months) seriously worrying that my baby was going to be deformed or worse.
Maybe with your upcoming move and other stuff going on in your life you aren't tired at night because you just need that time to yourself and to reflect? or maybe it's just hormones.
Just wanted to let you know I went through it last time.

I am tired, but I've noticed a direct correlation between tiredness and not getting enough exercise (for me) or forgetting to take all my multivitamin pills (2x day). I am wiped out when I don't exercise the day before.
I'm thirsty and get headaches too - but I read in a book (somewhere) that the first trimester is a lot like being mildly dehydrated, and that's exactly what I feel like. If I drink a LOT of water, it's alll good.
First time I was nauseated, but maybe it set in a little later than 5 weeks, I can't remember. I do remember it hitting suddenly and badly, not letting up until about 12 weeks.
I notice that I bloat very easily from eating too much of the wrong foods (fruit juice, high fat cheeses/foods) and my pants get too tight around the waist.
And oh, the problems with um...evacuation. Has anyone found a relief for that problem?

eat more fresh fruit? more water?
i think the sleep thing is very much connected to stress, not that im over-stressed but although i want this baby 200% its kind of a crazy time. but its also the perfect time, you know?
i have been doing cardio karate for the last 3 weeks twice a week ( didnt know i was pregnant!) and although i felt totally exhausted after, if felt so good to do it. i went last night and slept way better. the teacher said thats its totally okay to keep doing it as long as i feel good and to not push it. so far i think its really helped me feel healthier this pregnancy. i plan to ecercise regularily through the whole 9 months.
i also get the feeling that morning sickness didnt really kick in till after 6 weeks, so we will see..
ive been drinking this amazing tea that my sil gave me.. nourishment tea- its got oatstraw, nettle, red raspberry leaf, alfalfa, red clover, and rosehips and when i drink it i feel sooo good..!

I have been tired, but I dont know if its all the pregnancy. We are finishing up our busy season at work, so I worked 13 hours (til 11pm) last night and had to stay up til midnight the night before to run a report from home. So that is killing me. And then I gave up caffiene cold turkey yesterday, when I found out, so I have headaches from the withdrawel (I was a coffee addict). And then there is the pregnancy, but being less than 5 weeks, I wonder if that can be making me this tired already. Once my busy season is over at work, I want to start walking again at night and getting some better exercise at the gym on weekends. I hope I have the energy for it.
I have had slight, constant nausea for the past few days. I had bad morning sickness last time - threw up every day before lunch til around 16 weeks. I sense it coming on again.
The other thing is that I just cant think straight. That could be the stress/lack of sleep (see above) but I find myself struggling to solve problems at work, like I am thinking through a haze. Trying to multitask is infinitely harder than it usually is. I normally thrive on doing 5 things at once, and now I cannot even talk on the phone and do something on the computer without feeling addled and out of sorts. Weird. I dont remember this with my first pregnancy.
Oh and i have had lots of low cramps that come and go.
It's gonna be a fun 9 months! :LOL

BensMom,
If it makes you feel any better at all, I also kicked coffee cold turkey (2x a day, medium sized cups - more than 8 oz) last week once I found out I was pregnant. It is really hard. I felt extremely tired for about 2 days afterwards, got some achy pains and headaches, and felt super grouchy!
I did use white tea to help transition, and now I'm down to a half-cup of white tea in the morning with milk or soymilk. I don't think that it's the end of the world, and white tea has a lot of really great things in it...
Edit: Also, going for a walk or doing yoga really helped with transitioning off it and finding a new source of energy. I don't know if you have time, but...

I think I have every symptom mentioned! I knew I was pg about 2hrs after conception, when my heartburn came back. A word of CAUTION to you tums-takers. I ate so many tums with #1, that 4 months after birth, I had a huge kidney stone from the excess calcium. It was almost a painful as birth, with nothing good to show for it. So, just make sure you don't eat too many! I know I had over 500 throughout the pregnancy. This time, I've got to find other ways to keep it under controll. Other than the heartburn, I'm exhausted, feel like I can barely get off the couch, and when I do, I have to go throw-up :eyesroll ,so I don't very often. I can barely function without 2 naps a day, and sleep about 10 hours a night! Exercize does help, a bit, but it's embarassing to have to go puke during class, and I really have to make myself go, I'd rather stay home. Only about 5 more weeks of this, then the fun part starts :)

Mamafern, I noticed that my pants were fitting a little tighter too - but for me at least it's mostly just gas (that I didn't tend to have before). I thought I'd gained a couple pounds but I weighed myself and found that I hadn't. I find that if I drink a lot more water then the bloating goes away. I'm not ready to change clothing sizes yet!
Nevermindyouthere, did you talk to someone about the restless leg syndrome? I have a friend who had that and her doctor/naturopath put her on a nutritional supplement (I think with extra Iron) and they completely stopped. You might look it up online.

as long as you dont have any bad cramps or beeleding i wouldnt worry. i have had days ( like the first 4 weks..) that i didnt really know what was going on. i still feel pretty normal i think im just more aware now that i know. :hug
but if you are worried, take another test or go see a dr. or midwife, it cant hurt right?

I have intermittent wooziness, stomache-achey nausea, serious fatigue (take an hour nap daily), frequent urination, breast tissue forming (I can feel it if I poke, and so did DH!), and my nips are starting to change color. I also have wierd insomnia. I have been waking up at 6:30 or 7 am. every morning (admittedly after going to bed pretty darn early) and can't get back to sleep. Must be the excitement.
No heartburn yet, weird appetite - I ordered a whole bunch of food at the sushi place last night cause I was starving, but when it arrived I wanted none of it.
That's it for me, I am afraid the serious ms will kick in soon. I haven't thrown up since I was 11 and my appendix ruptured, so I hoping I still won't now.

I have magnificent morning nausea (it's awakened me at 4am & I only survived thanx to my saltines! :p ) that lessens but still comes in waves all day. I'm digging crackers & chamomile tea.
My boobs, Lordy, they are huge! That was my very 1st symptom, as with my other pgs. My boobs are big & very tender. I love it, I feel them several times a day, just to remind myself of what they are doing. :love
I have so many shooting & little aching pains in my whole uterine & pelvic area. They worried me like CRAZY today until I was able to come home from work & research on this board. I was convinced I had an ectopic pregnancy until then. Now I know that they are just my muscles stretching & uterus growing. I love them, too, they are just another reminder of my beloved cell ball. :LOL
My gums have been bleeding & I'm soo thirsty & I sure pee all the time! I had that weird metallic taste in my mouth for a few days, too.
What I don't have any of (knock on wood) is fatigue. I don't know why! I have been in fact feeling just the opposite for about 10 days. I've been feeling wired & energetic & excited. I've had insomnia every night! But then I feel fine the next day! It's so wierd. I was suuuper tired with both my other pgs, so I imagine it'll hit me at some point.
All in all, so far I feel freaking fantastic. I LOVE all my symptoms, they are such a reminder to me at all times of my pregnancy that I've been blessed with. I am soooooooooooo happy!
(just give me a few mos. though & I'm sure I'll be singing a different tune, haha! I'll be all "ooooh, when can I get this baby outta me? I'm sooOO uncomfortable!" :LOL )
Hooray for all of us! :belly :belly :belly :baby :boc :baby :boc

I hear ya! I am loving every bit about this. After TTC for 9 months, I was beginning to wonder if I would ever get to be pregnant again. I reallyhope I can cherish thsi pregnancy and all of the "fun" that comes along with it. I spent a long time complaining about my last pregnancy (but I *was* sick for 4 months and had terribel backache for the remaining5!). I am trying to eat right, stay healthy and just enjoy gestating.
Just remind me of this in August when I am huge and HOT and achey.... :LOL

It's very early (my due date is November 24th), but so far my symptoms are:
-STARVING! I cannot stop eating!
-Craving protein. I'm a vegetarian, and I swear I would eat a hamburger if it was in front of me right now.
-bloated
-burping
-lots of yellow cm (sorry tmi)
-exhausted. I've also given up coffee and have a head cold, so that's not helping.
-dizzy
-spacey
-I also had a little nausea last night. That's when I typically feel sick, at night.

This is so crazy to have symptoms already. I had 4 days of m/s with dd and was a bit tired, that was it!

My pants feel tight in the waist
HEARTBURN CITY
pretty tired
some insomnia, waking up at 2or3 am and not able to go back to sleep
uterine pulling, twinges,pains etc.
some sore breasts but could be heartburn....not sure who's starting it :)

i had a really pukey day yesterday.. im not sure if its because i didnt eat in the morning and then i was so hungry i was shaking and had a headache and then the food i got was not at all what i wanted and made me feel even worse.. it lasted all day. i didnt throw up but i was on the verge, and to top it all off i was travelling on foot( ferry boat, bus ect) with my son in a sling and a backpack and my back is aching now. i just want to go home and eat toast and vegg out ( im at the library because our internet is shut off now cause we are moving soon) but other than that im happy and try to remember that its all worth it when that baby comes!

I am so bloated and uncomfortable from gas... I'm taking that as a good sign, though, because those are side effects of high progesterone levels. I had the same problem last time I was pregnant.
Instead of Tums, my midwife reccomended papaya enzyme tablets - you can get them at any organic grocery store.
I'm sooooo tired.

I can't say I've been having all that many symptoms. However, there are some that raise my attention. I find it funny that since my boyfriend and I found out I was pregnant, neither of us could eat eggs. Embarassingly enough, I've also been ten times more flatulant than I am normally and INSANELY tired. What I intend to be an hour nap miraculously turns into a 5 hour sleep.

Hi ladies, I am new to this board. I am expecting my first little munchkin at the end of November.
So far, I had some intense cramping the day after I expected my period. I have not felt nauseous yet, but I definitely feel better when I am eating constantly like every two hours. My boobies have been tender but started to hurt pretty bad today. I peed like 4 times last night. Sometimes I get dizzy when I am in my yoga class.
My hubby and I tried for 14 months so we are ecstatic about this baby. :love Congratulations to all of you ladies also. I look forward to learning a lot from you all in the coming months:)

I was finally able to determine my biggest symptom as of yet - this PMS-like worrying/irrational concern pattern. Then I read somewhere else that yes indeed, that's what pregnancy hormones can do for you. It makes it better, but I will still feel worried excessively about smallish things (i.e. what if I contract mondo bizarro pregnancy disease that causes birth defects? why am i having headaches? why am I not supposed to eat feta but it was in my pregnancy book's recipes? why does my best friend's daughter have that weird rash all over her face and is it transmissible? What happens if I work out too much? What about the neighbors doing all this painting and construction?) and all that other good stuff that normally doesn't bother me at all but gets me a little worked up a day or two before my period.
I imagine it's some sort of evolutionary way of pregnant women being extra sensitive and protecting their unborn young. Or maybe it's sleep deprivation. God knows, I wish it to be gone. :eyesroll

I've been having mild achiness/cramps the past couple of days. Nothing sharp or piercing, and it's general rather than on one side. I'm 6W today, so is it likely that this is just my uterus stretching a bit? I know I read about it in one of my books, but now I can't find it again. Anyone else experience this?
My nausea is on the rise, so I figure that's a good sign. Man, hurry up and get here, April 11th!!!

OK, my morning sickness is here. The last two/three days I haven't been able to keep my head out of the toilet :bag: Just what I didn't need. Strangely enough, though, since the pukiness started I'm feeling less tired- how weird is that? Oh, and the pregnancy dreams have kicked in as well- last night I was dreaming that I forgot to put my pet snake away- I don't even HAVE a snake?!?
What happens on April 11th, Amy? Scan date?

Yep, the ultrasound where we find out if there is a heartbeat. :fingersx:
Tired, nausea, but the biggest one right now is gas and diarhea :( . I've had burpy gassiness before, but the is from the other end! :blush I guess it beats puking, but it's still unpleasant.

Okay I am 7weeks and I have been hit so stinking hard. I had nausea and vomiting with dh#1 and EARLY contrx and bad heartburn with dh#2. But with this one I have heartburn, EXTREME CONSTANT nausea with a lil vominting with NO RELEASE!, Sooooo tired I can barely function feeling all these things. I was tired from day one and that lasted 3 weeks before i found out I was PG. I just want to be able to function. I have my okay and horrible days but I think I am hitting a routine. I feel okay in the morn and then slowly the horrible nausea sets in and by afternoon I just am desperate for relief. Then I start feeling a lil better towards evening and by bedtime I feel the best. Some mornings start off bad and then its just HELL! Sorry! I know thats harsh. Its hard to be a mommie and feel horrible. I feel as if I am negleting my kiddos. :( Well I do love that I am PG again. Even with all the woes I am excited to BF again and i am going for a VBAC so all in all I will feel so much better once this cloud passes. It needs to hurry! :thumb

3 for me - your post cracked me up! I'm assuming you meant "dc" (dear child) instead of "dh" (dear husband)! If DH#1 made you vomit and DH#2 gave you heartburn then you do have bad luck!
I've got morning sickness throughout the day. In the little spurts of time that I feel good, I try to do everything I can, because I know within a few hours I'll be feeling sick again and won't be able to do anything... Luckily, my MIL is here to help out for a couple weeks...
